A comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood graced with Spanish Moss draped oaks.
Frog Hammock has an open plan common area with a barstool counter in the fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, and front and rear sitting/ living rooms. One bedroom has a private bathroom with a shower. The other two share a bathroom with tub off of the common area. There is a laundry room with washer/dryer. There is a front porch with a glider to enjoy the Live Oak.
Here is a private review we received.."We had a wonderful time and felt right at home. The "seclusion" was right there within the city limits. Lots of places to enjoy the wildlife and for fishing. The neighbors were friendly, but allowed us our privacy. We hope to live in or around Darien someday (after retirement). The art in your place was wonderful. The azaleas were beautiful. Thank you for sharing." Dolly and Edward

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is close enough to easily access anything you want to do in the area but just off the beaten path enough to disconnect as well.
If you like coffee, there is a set up for you from French Press to Keurig- that was a great surprise!

We had a substitute cleaner who got mixed up on the times. Unfortunately, the guest never responded to any of our messages or calls telling him that she was on her way immediately to clean after we got his message. The house was cleaned completely within 2 hours . The guest could have easily stayed there for the night. We reached out numerous time to the guest with no response.

Fishing Trip
The property was clean. It is what it looks like. A nice older home and was good for our stay in Darien.
We were up early, left to fish all day. Returned and cleaned up, went to dinner, back to the property to relax on the screen porch. Then we retired to comfortable beds in a well cooled room.
We will say the area around the property was not what we expected. The crab man, a very nice man, runs his business out his home. A fish/crab odor is very prevalent. But hey, we were there to fish and the cats were fun to watch.

Location, Location, Location.
This old house has been refurbished and they did a good job. However, it is located in an area that leaves much to be desired. Across the street is a pit bull chained to a clothes line. There are vehicles abandoned in the weeds next door. Feral cats roam freely and two were screeching loudly as they fought in our small front yard. Other dogs were howling and barking at 3 AM. A rooster was crowing well before daylight. The one TV does not have cable or satellite service. What they do have is something with which we were not familiar. We spent more time trying to get it to work than we did watching whatever came up. We could not find local news or weather. We paid for four nights but left after two. Darien is a neat little town off the beaten track. Visit and enjoy, but choose your lodging carefully. Good luck!

Unfortunately, Dan did not communicate his concerns with us until he had left early. I found his private complaints that he left in a note to us very disturbing- calling the neighbors , who are kind, helpful hardworking crabbers "rednecks" and complaining about roosters crowing, which is a feature of Darien in general. Our number of 5 star reviews speaks for itself. Here is a recent review from a guest, "frog hammock is a wonderful spot. quiet peaceful, relaxing. Everything you could want for a getaway in the area. the bikes are a great touch and a wonderful way to get around and see Darien. Excellent experience. Thank you!!!
Private Feedback: Christie. frog hammock is very special. the feeling or vibe was so wonderful. my daughter wants to move there!!! Thank you."
Each year 2 other moms and I take ALL the kids on a post-swim season vacation and this property fit our needs perfectly! It was clean, comfortable, and convenient. The kitchen was well stocked so meal prep for our crowd was no issue. We even did a crab boil with the provided gas cooker! We went to the beach on St. Simons Island (about 25min away), visited the lighthouse, WWII Homefront museum, and Ft. Frederica. We were also close enough to go spend the day on Jekyll Island and see the Sea Turtle Center and Driftwood beach.
The property is secluded, tucked away down a small side street off the main road, and surrounded by gorgeous trees and plants. (Be sure to pack bug spray!)
I had been away from home 36 yrs. Didn't expect allot of visitors, but allot of family stopped by to see us. The house was very comfortable and roomie. If i ever go back to Darien again. I would definitely want to rent this property
Great time of the year for south Georgia exploring. There are so many outside activities in Darien. Pick a river, any river! And the historical richness amazing trip.
Spacious home with nice kitchen and comfortable bed.
Home is on a quiet private street but neighbors yard across the street could use a clean up. Darien is a small fishing and shrimping community with access to marina and restaurants with fresh seafood. Historic coastal town located north of Brunswick and south of Savannah.
very nice and the weather was beautiful. We enjoyed the friendly people, food, and the beautiful trees.

Comfortable home base for exploring Darien's beautiful creeks
We had a great time in Darien at Christy's home. It was a perfect home base for paddle trips through the swamp and down Cathead Creek, being a short walk from the boat ramp and the delicious seafood at Skippers. Thanks!

Christie is friendly and helpful. They gave us bikes to roam and they respond to your messages.
We really liked the house and the only reason we gave 4 stars and not 5 stars is because of the environment around the house. It could have been cleaner. Overall our experience was good in Christie’s house.

What makes this property unique
Darien is a charming historic town on the waterfront. The house is spacious, comfortable, and conveniently located for walking, bicycling, or driving to many historic and natural destinations to sightsee, beach comb, bird watch, kayak, fish, and eat local southern fare.
