We've been to the premis for a week. 2 families, over all 10 + baby. This is one of the most beautiful and well maintained houses and it is located close to Colmar, in one of the most beautiful places in europe. Highly recomended for families!

We rented this lodge in Sainte-Marie for a week and it was a terrible experience. The blinds were broken, leaving the house over 95F with no AC or fans. The owners ignored our repair requests; only after days of discomfort did they buy one portable AC unit, forcing us to spend over 1,500 on extra fans and units.The house was dirty, full of bugs, and lacked wardrobes or dressers—our clothes were on the floor, constantly dirty or wet from leaking showers. The furniture was mismatched, uncomfortable, and there was no sofa or proper sitting area, just chairs around a table. Basic essentials like toilet paper, soap, or shampoo were not provided, which is unacceptable for a rental at this price.The owners were dismissive and rude, insisting, “This is the way it is done in France.” For the cost, this was one of the worst rental experiences we’ve ever had—completely unsuitable for Americans or international travelers expecting comfort and hospitality.

FANTASTIC

We had a wonderful stay at this house in Alsace while exploring the Christmas markets. 🌟 The location is perfect for visiting all the charming villages in the area, and being surrounded by vineyards means breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. 🌄 The house is ideal for large families like ours. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable, and each comes with its own shower—such a luxury! Having an accessible room on the ground floor was a big plus for our elderly family members. The kitchen is fully equipped, so we had everything we needed to prepare our meals. The host was incredibly attentive throughout our stay, always making sure we were comfortable and promptly answering any questions. We also loved having space to park two cars inside the property and an additional one on the street for free. 🚗 If I had to suggest one improvement, it would be to add a charging option for electric cars with a Type 2 (Mennekes) or CCS2 plug. Currently, there’s only a standard Schuko plug, which is quite slow and not always compatible with all EVs. This meant we had to rely on external charging stations. Despite this, our experience was fantastic, and we would definitely recommend this house for a vacation in Alsace. Thank you for an unforgettable stay! 🏡✨

Wie im Vorjahr haben wir das lange Wochenende am Feiertag für einen kurzen Urlaub ins Elsass genutzt. Wir – 6 Erwachsene und 5 Kinder aus 3 Generationen – haben uns in dieser schönen Gegend und dem tollen Haus an den 3 Tagen wieder sehr wohl gefühlt. Die moderne OConnel-Lodge ist sehr guter ausgestattet und hat uns schon vor einem Jahr überzeugt, die kleine Familienfeier hier zu wiederholen. Mal sehen wie’s weitergeht …

Wir haben einen wundervollen Urlaub mit unserer Familie in Bennwihr verbracht. Das Haus liegt am Ortsrand inmitten von Weinreben, ist also sehr ruhig gelegen. Das Haus bietet reichlich Platz für Familien mit bis zu 10 Personen. Wir haben es genossen, entweder auf der Terasse oder am großen Tisch im Wohnraum gemeinsam zu essen.Wir kommen gerne noch einmal wieder.

La maison est spacieuse, confortable bien équipée et incroyablement bien située sur la route des vins. Le jardin, sans être énorme était idéal pour notre grande famille avec trois petits enfants. Les propriétaires sympas, accueillants et à l’écoute. Bref, mention excellent !

Retrouvailles entre amis et visites aux alentours : Riquewihr, le rucher d'un ami, une cave, Sélestat : maison du pain, bibliothèque humaniste, tour de la ville…Et le restaurant de la Tour ! Beaucoup de sites remarquables aux alentours de Bennwihr : le gîte est non seulement intéressant du point de vue de sa conception (grands espaces intérieurs lumineux, maison passive) mais aussi du point de vue de sa localisation.

Madam was born in the village and decided to build this big house from scratch. Amid the vineyard, we wanted to respect the nature using sustainable materials : made mainly from wood, O'Connel Lodge is built to last long.
