Your kind words about the quietness and beauty of the surroundings are greatly appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Thank you for choosing Mountain Escape.
This place was very nice. It had great views and was very quiet. The kids enjoyed their space downstairs and we enjoyed the large master upstairs. We were close enough to Ashville and drove there daily. We loved the tree top adventure trails and sliding rock were great. We would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful views , unparalleled. The house could benefit from a better cleaning (dog hair on the couch etc) but overall not too bad. I would still stay here again.
Although there was an issue with the fireplace and grill being "out of order" during our January stay, our holiday adventure is one that we will likely repeat.
The cabin was located in a very beautiful and friendly area!

This house has the potential to be beautiful and for what is being charged I expected more. There were a lot of dead bugs on the floors, windowsills, and in the upstairs bathroom. The couch cushions have a lot of stains and could really use a good cleaning and any dishes we wanted to use needed washed first. Several things on the floor were missed, 2 q-tips and small game pieces on the upstairs rug, which tells me those aren’t shook out or vacuumed. Thank goodness my daughter found them or our small dog would have definitely got a hold of them. After reading the guest book, it sounds like we aren’t the only ones that arrived to poor housekeeping. The bedroom furniture is set up randomly with no real purpose and there are no TVs other than the one in the LR. I always strip the beds at the end of our stays to try to be helpful and the one mattress pad had a large yellow stain on it. Two soaking wet towels were left down by the hot tub and I would love to know the last time the hot tub was cleaned. The drive there is tricky, but the view is amazing. Unfortunately next time we will look to stay somewhere else.

Hello Pamela,
Thank you for your review. We apologize that your reservation with us was anything less than perfect. During your 4-night stay with us we had no reports of a concern with the home, and apologize that we were unable to review and remedy these concerns for you during your stay. We have shared your feedback with our operations team for their internal review. We hope you otherwise had an enjoyable stay in the mountains of Western North Carolina, and thank you again for sharing your experience with us.
Very nice cabin. Enjoyed the outdoor areas.
Downstairs bedrooms could use fans and a mirror. Difficult for 4 people to share 1 bathroom and the rooms were hot while sleeping

Mountain Retreat
Very nicely decorated and comfortable. Loved that it had wifi and that its pet friendly!! The deck and fire pit were great. We walked up the road for our hikes. It is secluded but a 30 minute drive to Asheville and to hiking/bent creek recreation area. The last little part of the journey up the hill was a little steep but as its gravel just drive in low gear.

Thank you for your kind words - we're glad you enjoyed your stay with us and we hope to host you again soon! :)
The yard & house needed updating to match the pictures on VRBO. Garbage disposal was broke & kitchen sink was leaking. Took two day to get it fixed. On a good note TV, WiFi, A/C hot water all worked well. The view from the deck, although peeping paint, was as advertised.

Hello Richard,
Thank you so much for your review, we appreciate your feedback. We're constantly working with our properties and homeowners to provide the best guest experience possible, and will review these comments and work to address them. We hope you had a great visit to Western North Carolina and enjoyed the gorgeous views at Mountain Escape!
The cabin is as advertised. Decks need to be cleaned and wasp nests removed. Rubber/plastic mattress covers make sleeping uncomfortable, especially the master bedroom. Not something I would expect for a quality hotel or resort which is the price we paid for 3 days. I have stayed in several VRBO homes and never have mattress covers like these. Views were wonderful and the hot tub was a plus. Fire pit was completely over grown with brush and weeds. Looked like nobody had used it or maintained it for years. All in all I would recommend if ownership would address the exterior cleaning and mattress covers.

Hey John,
Thank you for your review of Mountain Escape. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve the property. We are glad to hear that the views and hot tub were enjoyed, and we will address the issues you mentioned with the decks, wasp nests, mattress covers, and fire pit. Our goal is to provide a comfortable and well-maintained experience for all our guests, and we will work to address these concerns. We hope you will consider staying with us again in the future.
We loved staying in this cabin in the mountains. Everything was very comfortable, and we had plenty of what we needed for our stay. I did leave some comments for the owners when we left. You might be sure to mention in the information that getting to the house after dark is quite tricky for those unused to mountain road driving. Arriving before dark would be preferable!
Beautiful views, quiet get away. We truly enjoyed our stay. Ended up with no TV access which in the end was a treat in and of itself but may be an issue for some.

Hello Wendy,
Thank you for your review, and we’re glad you enjoyed the property during your stay! We apologize for any difficulty you encountered with our management of the home. We understand that there was a delayed entry brought on by a last minute booking, and apologize for the impact this had on your stay. Going forward we will work to avoid issues like this in the future. Thank you again for your review and we hope you otherwise had an enjoyable stay.
The property was perfect for our family getaway. It was clean, the kitchen was adequately supplied to cook family meals, and the views were spectacular. We liked we were close enough to Asheville to take in the sites, yet far enough to feel we were truly on a mountain vacation.
