(Note: MINIMUM STAY IS 29 DAYS (one Month) Our home offers the best in city living! It is just minutes away from I-80, Rancho San Rafael Park, downtown Reno, the University, Reno-Tahoe airport, and McCarran Blvd. The nearest grocery store, Raley's, is one mile from our house, on Keystone Ave. The deck is perfect for viewing the Reno Balloon Races--they usually float directly over the house.
Built into a slope on a beautifully landscaped corner lot, our 1994, 1800 sq.-foot, split-level home was recently renovated. The main level features beautiful Brazilian Cherry floors throughout, so we do request that guests remove their shoes in the tiled front entry.
The living room area is defined by a Persian rug, reclining leather chair, loveseat and sofa, and a small gas fireplace. A portable TV stand, which stands in the corner of the master bedroom, can easily be rolled into the living area for viewing. The picture window looks out onto mature landscaping featuring a large fountain and many garden paths, trees, and shrubs.
The formal dining room leads onto an upper level deck, complete with a gas grill and seating area for outdoor summer dining. There is a good, well-maintained Kawai upright piano at the end of the dining room, which our guests are welcome to play.
The kitchen has distinctive Rainforest marble countertops, a composite granite sink, a Samsung oven with Induction stove top, Bosch dishwasher, large-capacity LG refrigerator, Breville toaster oven and water pot, Cuisinart food processor and blender, and Kitchen-Aid mixer. It is a kitchen organized and used by cooks.
Comfortable, supportive beds are important to us as well as to you! The upper level master bedroom has a new Black C-class Beautyrest Queen mattress, with adjustable base, inset dressers, light-blocking blinds, and walk-in closets. It is adjacent to a remodeled luxury bath with a large walk-in shower and long teak bench. The vanity is composite stone with travertine vessel basins and porcelain tile floor.
The upper guest half-bath features a bidet, vanity lights, and porcelain tile floor.
Heading down the staircase, one enters a small living area with a chair, ottoman, desk, and table. A small self-contained kitchenette completes the mini-apartment. The laundry area is nearby, behind louvered doors. Outside the sliding glass doors, a shaded patio awaits, with additional tables and seating areas, as well as a fire pit with string lighting and optional vertical awning. Around the far side of the house you will discover a small waterfall feature, lovely to hear from outside the open window in the Periwinkle room. On either side of the den are two small bedrooms, the Jungle Room, featuring a hand-painted jungle mural by a local artist, and the Periwinkle Room. The supportive mattresses are Simmons and Sealy. The downstairs bathroom has a tub, shower, and vanity lights. The bedrooms are carpeted, the remainder is water-resistant floating laminate flooring..
The main outside property features mature landscaping and a drip-irrigation system, installed over a period of twenty-five years by the owners. There are two maple trees, a Japanese plum, a dogwood, an apple, an ash, and a pin oak on the property, as well as numerous, varied shrubs and bushes. A large fountain, which the birds love to visit, sets off a sloping garden near the house entrance. Three separate sidewalks, two from below, and one directly in front, all lead to the front door. The middle one takes you under an arbor; the lower one, near the back gate, features a bench and additional small gardens to view from the bottom, looking up the slope. The main sidewalk entrance features potted flowers on the left and a garden of vinca as well as a shaded, western wagon wheel bench on the right.
Please note that the garage is unavailable to our guests, and a Jeep will be sitting on one side of the driveway, but one driveway space is available, as well as plenty of additional street parking in front of the house. Wi-Fi and central air conditioning are included. A gardener and housekeeper maintain the property. Maintaining a clean, spotless home is a priority for us and for our guests.
The price and 29-day minimum stay as listed on VRBO are firm. There is a refundable $500 deposit which will be returned within 14 days after your visit ends, unless there are additional charges for cleaning, damage or fees imposed by VRBO for processing. Note: due to heavy alkali dust generated at Burning Man, we will not accept reservations from attendees. Violations will result in non-return of the deposit.

This place is NOT like many other rentals properties which have been newly renovated with the intent of renting out/flipping. Rather, this is real home with lots of soul and character. There's artwork throughout the house, detailed explanations about various things, and a kitchen with every machine imaginable. There is lots of natural light in the house, and a well-kept garden outside the house. The balcony off from the dining room was very private. The area is residential and safe and many shops are a short drive away. Communication was great, as was everything else. This rental really felt like home and I'd definitely stay there again if given the opportunity.

James,
Thank you! We are so grateful for your kind review. We derive a special pleasure from seeing to it that our guests feel as much at home as possible when they stay in ours.
Our stay in Reno was great. The house was lovely. The master room is large. The deck was such a delight to visit outside. We took a Uber in to the casino and to have dinners. Great location and close to everything fun to do in Reno. Virgins was so prompt in communication and we definitely will stay here when we return.
Brought Mother-in-law to Granddaughter and Great Granddaughter to celebrate her 90th BIRTHDAY early
First time I rented a vacation house. You made it all very simple & easy. I appreciated this, since I am not very good with technology.
House was perfect for our visit.
Thank You. Sue Ann 😁⚘
We (four adults) really loved staying at your beautiful house. The kitchen was fantastic and so well equipped. The location was perfect for the purpose of our stay. A very enjoyable stay.
Our family came to Reno for our daughter’s wedding and we all wanted to be together. The house was perfect. Loved the amenities! The beds were great and we were very comfortable! Will definitely rent this home again. 💕
Our visit to Reno was brief, but our family enjoyed the quiet comfort of the house after our daily excursions. The location of the property was close enough to the hustle and bustle of all that Reno has to offer, and at the same time far enough to unwind from it all. It was the perfect place to come back to and relax. The accommodations were comfortable and clean...and we felt at home during our stay. We even enjoyed playing board games as a family and catching up on our reading...all supplied as part of our stay. Should we find ourselves back in the area, we will definitely look to book this property again.
Wonderful owners, easy to work with. Very nice property. Well kept, beautiful landscaping. The home is fully provisioned. The neighbors are all very friendly. One of the side streets is a bit loud when outside, but not notable in the home. Location seemed to be in a safe neighborhood, while very convenient to downtown. Would definingly stay here again!
Having lived in Reno and started a family there, we knew the general area really well and loved the easy access to the freeway system. The house itself was in pristine order when we arrived. Every amenity we needed, including propane BBQ and utensils, were right at our disposal. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the backyard and patio area while spending most of our nights hanging out there and chatting. VERY elegant flooring, tables, and chairs, much so the point my wife and I were on pins and needles at times to keep our young children (5 and 8) following the rules. Would definitely consider staying again when we visit the area in a few years if it's still available.
My group is a few PCT thru-hikers. We have been hiking for months at this point and Ginny’s property was our favorite place to stay along the entire trail to date. It was such a welcome place to relax and cook plenty of fresh and delicious food. We’ve stayed in our fair share of hotels and homes and this knocked everything else out of the park. It’s clear that someone loves this home and it has been well lived in. It had everything we needed to bake our favorite treats and cook full meals as we prefer to make our own food. We were wanting for literally nothing. It was amazing!

Thank you, Mary, for your stellar review. We aim to provide the sort of place we would enjoy staying in and it means a lot to get your glowing feedback.
The house is comfortable and roomy. We enjoyed the upper outside space for breakfast when it was cool. The location is great, easy to get downtown or on the freeway. The instructions were very clear.
Stayed here while we were in Reno for a horse sale. House was very clean and comfortable and was exactly as represented. Was much better than staying at a hotel. Would definitely stay here again when in Reno!
The place was just as described online. We stayed there so the grandparents could visit their college grandchildren before they flew out. It slept 6 of us comfortably.
We were meeting in Reno to celebrate my youngest sister’s birthday! This was soooo clean and comfortable. We were able to be together yet have our own room!!! We will be back!! Loved the house!!

Lenore and her family were wonderful guests, even stripping the beds before they left. Thank you!
We stayed here during the air races. It was so nice to come ‘home’ every evening to a house and cook our own dinner. The master bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! Property was very clean. Enjoyed wandering thru the garden paths too!
We absolutely loved our stay. We were in town to visit my sister and the house was only 5 minutes from my sister and close to downtown too. The check in process was easy and the owner was super friendly, responsive and kept us informed at all times. Also, not only was the location great, but the house itself was beautiful and very clean. It's very obvious the owner's take pride in their home and we were honored to be able to stay there for our mini vacation. Will definitely book again!
What a gem this house is. We loved everything about it. Location, cleanliness, comfort. Easy access to downtown, shopping. We would definitely. Come back. Thank you!!
The home had everything we could possibly want for our short stay in Reno. To say that the home was "complete" would be an understatement. We only cooked one meal at the house, but if we were to return, we would plan much more. The homeowner appears to take their cooking very seriously.
Cleanliness- it was perfect.
Comfortable- perfect.
Ease of use- perfect.
We would recommend this home to anyone who is capable of respecting the home and it's items. It is not "VRBO proofed" the way we do our cabin. Unique and personal items abound., adding to the overall charm of the home.
This is a sweet house with lots of room and wonderful character. It has easy access to all parts of Reno and beyond. The kitchen is glorious to cook in and the master bed so comfortable we did not want to get up!
The owner is a gem!
Don’t hesitate to stay here. Quiet neighbourhood and only 5 min from a wonderful park to go walking or picnicking in. I can’t say enough good things.

About the host
Hosted by Virginia Lenz
We have lived in this house since 1994, having moved to Reno from upstate New York. We did all the landscaping and most of the remodeling and design ourselves while juggling careers in music and law, and raising our now-adult sons. Since they both live in New York and we are now retired, we divide our time between Reno and the East. We have always loved to entertain and often host overnight guests. Mark loves to cook for them, especially breakfast delights, including his specialty, crepe-like pancakes, as well as German pancakes, scones, and muffins. We have been married over forty years, having met as new members of the Rochester (NY) Philharmonic, fresh out of graduate school. Mark grew up in Reno and missed it, so it was inevitable that we would move back here some day. He picked up a law degree before we moved, and practiced civil law while Ginny wended her way quite often to play as a substitute violist with the San Francisco Symphony. Over the years, she went on many tours with them, Mark accompanying her when he could. Mark is a gifted craftsman and handyman; we are proud of our home and work hard to maintain it. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Now that you know a little about us, we'd be grateful if you tell us a little about you and why you are visiting Reno!
Why they chose this property
We chose our residence because of its excellent location, being conveniently located near virtually every attraction in Reno and the surrounding area. We love our walks and hikes in nearby Rancho San Rafael, which includes a world-class arboretum, a rare collections of outstanding trees in Nevada. We can see the Balloon Races in September without ever leaving our deck. We can hop onto the freeway or over to the University of Nevada events in five minutes. Truckee, the Graeagle, CA area, and Tahoe getaways are all within an hour or so. We are within minutes of the revived Mid-town area, the Riverside arts theater, the Nevada Museum of Art, and best of all, Artown, a downtown arts festival all of July!
What makes this property unique
It was newly built and had no previous owners. We were able to landscape it and design the interior as we desired.
