Hill Country Retreat

Very fun unique home with private river access. 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, kitchenette, loft with a sectional couch and flat screen TV and a Pool table. Full size washer and dryer in laundry room. This property has an outside BBQ area with gas cooktop, grill, and fire pit. Very close to Criders, the famous Rodeo and Dance Hall and LaHacienda. Wi-Fi and Directv. Bedroom one has one king bed, and one twin bed. Bathroom with shower. Bedroom 2 has one queen bed and bathroom with shower.

The property does have river access. You have to cross a two lane road to get to the river. The waterfront is directly across the road from the house with steps leading to the river and concrete landing. The water is roughly 4 feet deep in some places and shallow enough in other spots to put your lounge chair.

Nice Getaway
Very nice property unfortunately we didn't spend a lot of time enjoying it. We had plans in Fredericksburg so really only slept there. If it had been Spring or Summer we definitely would have been outside a lot more. The only thing I would suggest to the management of the property would be to dust and clean at least once a month even if it is not being rented out. Leaving complimentary coffee and creamer for the guests. I have been to several B&B's and have always had coffee available. I did take my own hot chocolate only because I knew that was something that would probably not be there. I think instructions for the TV would help for people who are not tech savvy. I tried once to get the tv going and gave up. There were a lot of lights that light bulbs were out in the house. There were no instructions on the outside lights as we were leaving the grounds keeper stopped and they told us that there were speakers and lights in the gazebo. We never called or text the owner to ask about these things. I am sure he would have let us know more. We really just slept there technically so that really was not a huge deal but may be something you would like to know. There really is not a lot of places to eat so you definitely want to have your meals before getting to house. Take snacks and ice chest for drinks because it is nice and relaxing outside and you are not going to want to leave because you run out of something.

Awesome Location to explore the Hill Country
Overall we loved the location of this river house as a base to explore the Hill country. There is an awesome swim hole across the street from this property on the river. Super close to the camps (La Junta, Mystic, etc.) in the area if looking for a spot nearby. The property is a bit dated, could use a little freshening up and probably a quick clean before we arrived (overall was pretty clean, but just minor details could have been better). Note the kitchen in also very bare bones--only a small hotel size fridge and no cooking equipment really. There is also a grill outside, but we did not find any utensils that we could use the grill with. Kitchen wasn't a big deal for us as we spent most of the time away from the house exploring. Overall we had a good experience here, could just use a bit more amenities and freshening up.
