Your rental agreement contract's cancellation policy states that we are not responsible for events that are beyond our control, such as hurricanes. We strongly encourage our guests to purchase travel insurance, and especially recommend "cancel for any reason" policies. These must be purchased shortly after your reservation is made.

Please note that because the Melrose Resort is in transition, our Melrose guests may notice a certain level of deterioration in the resort-owned buildings but will also see that renovation efforts are now underway. Our vacation cottages are in well-maintained areas and continue to be extremely popular. This property allows only electric golf carts.

Guest Access:
This vacation home also comes with a gas grill for your own barbecues and beach chairs.

The equestrian center is also back in operation, and horseback riding is available.

Getting Around:
IMPORTANT: IT IS NECESSARY TO TAKE A FERRY TO DAUFUSKIE, SO EXTRA FEES WILL APPLY. ALSO GROUND TRANSPORTATION FROM THE DOCK TO THE RENTAL AND GOLF CART RENTAL WILL NEED BOOKED AS WELL. WE WILL HELP PROVIDE CONTACTS SO THAT YOU CAN MAKE THOSE ARRANGEMENTS.

Other Things to Note:
Please note that it is necessary to take a boat to Daufuskie Island. Costs vary depending on the service you choose, but on average you should plan on about $75-$85 per person roundtrip for both boat & ground transportation. (Marina parking fees may also apply.)
