Sweet Merlot - A Family Rental with a Pool & walking distance to Twin beach

Hosted by the owner & an Airbnb Super Host, Sweet Merlot is a traditional island-colonial style home offering beautiful Atlantic Views, a peaceful street, and all the comforts and conveniences you would expect from a family home away from home. With only a brisk 5 minute walk from Sweet Merlot on a calm day you can find Twin Beach a beautiful and secluded beach within the cliff face on the Atlantic Ocean side of Rainbow Bay

The master-bedroom is spacious and offers an en-suite bathroom with a deep soaking tub, shower and two vanity sinks. The glass doors allow views of The Atlantic from the bed and just step outside to the deck to relax with a cup of coffee, tea or beverage of choice at any time. The kids room located on the lower floor offers twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with a tub allowing them to be close to the adults and close to the deck to go swimming in the pool. The open concept living room with satellite tv, dining room & kitchen offers so much for entertaining.

Upstairs we enter the fun room that provides separate seating to watch DVD's. Two guest bedrooms both with queen size beds and views of the ocean share a bathroom with a shower but leaving loads of space to just hang out and relax.

The house has many of the upgrades of a high end home without the hefty price of a home in Harbour Island or Banks Road. It is a great family home to explore both ends of Eleuthera and return to at the end of the day. It is close to all Rainbow Bay beaches. This house also features a pool in the back with a large deck for those lazy days when you just want to stay home. A great location in the central Eleuthera for a larger family or group.

I thought that the house was beautiful inside. Really roomy and a great value. The deck is a little bit beat up and we were all worried about getting splinters if we walked on it (though no one did). Also there was no light by pool so you can't swim in the evening. Lastly, they said there was a charcoal grill. It is more of an outdoor sort of fireplace. The grate to cook on was really rusty and breaking. We really relied on that in our meal planning, so that was very disappointing. I even asked specifically about the grill and they didn't mention its condition. I want to say that we had a blast and enjoyed the home immensely. It worked really well for us aside from the grill and I think was good value for the cost. I am just giving a full and complete review to aid others in their decision making.

Really enjoyed our stay- great house and location

Three friends and I stayed here for several nights and really enjoyed it- the large kitchen, deck, pool, and grill were all great, and we got a lot of use out of the porch and outdoor table. The large home made our stay very comfortable. We hope to visit again.

Family vacation

Sweet Merlot was perfect for our family of 6. Clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious, it was a great place to relax after long days of exploring this gorgeous island. We will definitely plan to stay at Sweet Merlot when we return.

We stayed for a week to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Nice, clean an plenty of space for all of us. Great location to restaurants and pretty central to the island. Had all things you would need for a week but maybe give us some extra rolls of toilet paper next time since we had 5 adults for a week. We would definitely rent again.

Beautiful property on a beautiful Island. I would stay here again for sure. The place was very comfortable, Very large house that has everything. Just one thing a few more candles or flashlight for the night power outages. They don't last long but it is dark. Thank you so much for the beautiful stay and hopefully we will return. P.S. A kitty showed up we did feed her and left food, if you stay here please feed that sweet girl!!

A Very Sweet Merlot

We have been coming to Rainbow Bay since 1986 and Sweet Merlot is the nicest rental we have ever had! Our family of 7 had ample room fir everyone to have their own space. The deck space and pool were an added bonus! The house was situated in a perfect spot in Rainbow Bay for beach access and long walks as well as offering views of the ocean, sunrises and settings. It was difficult to leave!

Beautiful week in a Beautiful Spot

Wow! Sweet Merlot is a wonderful home away from home. The spacious property is the perfect rest spot each night in between beach hopping each day. We spent lots of time by the pool on the patio with drinks in the evenings, enjoying the view. We traveled with 7 people total and this house gave everyone their own space and had plenty of room for us all to cook and get ready for the beach each day! Cannot wait to return to this great rental.

We had 8 adults (ages 33 to 66) and 1 child (age 8). The house was perfect. All the rooms are large and the deck/pool had a great mixture of sun and shade. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/baking sheets. It is within walking distance to Rainbow Inn for dinner (make sure to make reservations). We would recommend this house for anyone!

Perfection

We had a great stay at Sweet Merlot. Our party was 8 adults and there was plenty of room. It would also be perfect for families with small kids. It is a beautiful, well-built home with high ceilings, premium finishes, and quality furnishings. The location is great as the entire island - North to South - is accessible. We explored many beaches in Eleuthera, but actually fell in Love with Twin Beach - which is walking distance from Sweet Merlot.

Sweet Merlot is Sweet!

Just returned from a wonderful getaway to Eleuthera at Sweet Merlot. A great rental in Rainbow Bay with ample space, amenities a location that is central to beaches north and south. Lots of indoor and outdoor lounge space and nicely appointed kitchen and bedrooms, we had all we needed (and more!) for our stay on this beautiful island. Every morning, we gazed at the Atlantic from the picnic table on the deck and a quick afternoon dip in the plunge pool topped off many of our days (prior to cocktails of course)! Comms with the team were thorough, easy and quick and the care for the property was evident. We cannot wait to return to this beautiful island soon!!!

A Very Sweet Merlot

We stayed at Sweet Merlot for the month of February and the time flew by! There was ample room for everyone. The location was just about perfect for getting around the island, almost midway between each end. Easy, but good exercise to walk to the Caribbean or the Atlantic beaches. IT was great to slip into the pool after a day at the beach. Plenty of towels and beach equipment. Kitchen had enough equipment and setting for a full house. The best aspect was the quick and responsive service provided by Brianna! Whenever we had questions or had to deal with the inevitable quirks that can happen over the course of a month she got right back to us with answers and solutions. Thanks for a great escape from February in Maine!

8 night stay at Sweet Merlot

This was our 6th visit to Eleuthera and we stayed at Sweet Merlot for the first time. The house is quite large and a very good price for the island. The deck was very nice to sit out on in the mornings drinking coffee, the air conditioning worked well, the beach gear was very useful and handy. I was slightly disappointed on arrival because the house is much more “worn” than what the pictures show. Some furniture is not even there that are in the pictures. The garden was way overgrown and I was looking forward to that from the description. The beds are EXTREMELY firm. And some of them still had the manufacture plastic on them underneath the sheets which didn’t help. There is not a dishwasher which was my own fault for not looking in the description. The description also says there is satellite upstairs in the family room and it is downstairs. You can only watch DVDS upstairs. Overall we had a good time on our trip and for the money the house is a good value but wish the pictures were a bit more accurate of what it really looks like so we would have known what we were really renting.
