Historic La Bella Vista - Walk to Van Damme State Park Beach!

Historic La Bella Vista offers truly exceptional ocean views from almost every room. Originally the Marsan’s Blacksmith Shop in the 1800s, this home allows you to experience a piece of history. The custom kitchen offers mesmerizing coastal views. If you don’t feel like cooking, Little River Inn and Wild Fish Restaurants are just a short ½ mile car ride away, as well as the many dining opportunities offered two miles away in the Mendocino Village. View Van Damme State Park beach from the tranquil garden, spa, deck, or patio and enjoy the sounds of the surf while watching the many seabirds and wildlife. Kayak Mendocino offers professionally guided sea cave tours where you can experience the beauty of the ocean while sitting on top of an ocean kayak. Across the street from the beach is Van Damme State Park which includes the Fern Canyon Trail system and offers hiking through acres of lush fern and pygmy forest. Also, direct access to the Spring Ranch Preserve trails with great hiking and biking along the scenic cliff line is close by. Like to golf? The Little River ocean views golf course is nearby. La Bella Vista is the perfect location to make once-in-a-lifetime memories.
~Please note:~ La Bella Vista is located immediately off of Highway 1 in Little River, while this is a slow stretch of single-lane highway, guests that are light sleepers or sensitive to noise may be disrupted by the road noise. Primary queen w/full bath, queen room downstairs w/full bath. Queen sleeper pullout in the living room.

Although La Bella Vista is pet friendly, please note that it is limited to dogs only with a maximum number of no more than 2.

Absolutely perfect!!!

My partner, mother and I had the most phenomenal stay at this gem of a house!! The location is amazing - just a 5 minute drive from downtown Mendocino and steps from the beach! The house is so cozy and spacious. We loved sitting on the deck and in the living room drinking coffee, both areas providing an idyllic view of the ocean. What a fantastic house for a group vacation! We hope to be back!!!

We miss this house!

We travel frequently as a family. My kids (ages 7, 9, 12) loved this house and northern California. Thehy are still talking about damming up the "river" at Van Damme beach. The house is spacious, the hot tub was amazing after a day of exploring, the gardens were relaxing to stroll through and a gorgeous source of blooming color to enjoy. This is in a great location for exploring the area and offers beautiful views. If my kids have anything to do with it, we will be back soon - and will def stay at this welcoming home.

The view and gardens were beautiful as was the kitchen. The living rooms were okay, and the TV was old (expected HD/Smart TV). The kitchen and dining room were beautiful, beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were well appointed with clean shower -nice shower-head. We were disappointed in the location being off highway 1, could hear the cars clearly, blocking the natural sound of the ocean. Also, the parking was difficult to maneuver, as entry to the property was very narrow. The gardens were not maintain, overgrown, pathways were littered with weeds made it difficult to walk through. The overall view was amazing. The patio was also amazing.
