About this property

"Surfrider" Beach House On the Sand! 3 Bdrm, Sleeps 7 & Dog friendly -MCA#381

If you are visiting a beach town, then stay where you can dig your toes in the sand off the back deck! Explore sand dunes, walk along miles of beach, enjoy peaceful sunsets, or head into town along a paved walking/biking path. Also hang out in the fenced courtyard with 6 Adirondack chairs, fire pit and a rustic she-shed. An outside shower is located here too for washing off sandy feet.
Everything is easy access - beginning with a flat driveway and paved pathway to the front door. No worries about lugging luggage or supplies up long flights of stairs.
In warmer weather, simply settle into the 4 adirondack chairs on the back deck or step directly on to the sand with the kids to start playing with the sand toys!
If the weather is better for indoor play, big windows across the dining and great room let in the light and the sunsets while you relax on a comfy leather sectional and cozy up to a real wood fire in the fireplace. Flat screen tv, cable and free Netflix are at the ready.
The kitchen has newer appliances and is large enough to accommodate more than one cook. The large counter and barstools allow others to hang out and talk to the cooks. A generous round dining table welcomes family and friends to gather for meals and to play games.
When you are ready for sleep, the primary bedroom (KING bed and 2nd flatscreen tv) connects to the main bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed. The third bedroom has a queen bed and another separate daybed/couch which is a twin bed (the house sleeps 7 people). The second bathroom, with a stall shower, has a door accessing the outside courtyard for easy clean up of sandy kids. That bathroom also houses a convenient stacked washer and dryer.
The former garage has been turned into a she-shed with French doors to the courtyard, an outside dining table, as well as a whimsical couch for relaxing while you grill on the charcoal BBQ.
Just a few blocks away (easy walking distance) is the charming downtown Manzanita with unique gift shops, a spa, the classic Sand Dune pub, trendy wine bar, convenient grocery store, and several good restaurants. A flat, paved walking and biking lane leads from the house directly to town. The local golf course is around the corner.
If you are a dog lover, you'll appreciate the dog friendly atmosphere of Manzanita and your well-behaved dog is welcome at the beach house too.
FOR SECURITY PURPOSES ONLY: A Blink doorbell is located on the front porch and can see the front door. A second security camera is located at the front of the house and can view the driveway.

As native Oregonians, we enjoyed this family beach house while we raised 5 kids in the Portland area. We spent many weekends here all year round and now that the kids are grown, we've opened this home for others to enjoy. My father lived at the coast growing up, so this part of Oregon will always be special to our family.

Why they chose this property

We believe Manzanita is the best beach town on the Oregon Coast. There is no highway (or train track) going through it, which allows for a very walkable and quiet spot for shops and restaurants. It has maintained it's charm while attracting unique gift and art shops, and great dining. There is great hiking, local parks and a golf course.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with this property over 20 years ago because it is ON THE BEACH. We can literally take one step off the deck and play in the sand.
The public beach access is just a couple of homes away, so easy for us, yet doesn't allow for people to be wandering by the windows.
