AMAZING VIEWS!! Beachfront Home-10 bedrooms-at The Point and a private POOL!

There absolutely were and are no electrical problems with the house, pool, or anything else on the property. Of course, the reviewer knows this to be true as he stayed and swam an entire week without calling or reporting any issues until after the stay. This guest attempted to plug-in equipment too large for any residential home, and fortunately everything worked as designed and tripped a breaker. He later was observed running an industrial power cord into the second floor of the house (presumably to get around the GFCI breakers on the ground floor preventing his unsafe actions). Rather than call (and as confirmed by the guest in the review and an email), he began manipulating the houses electrical breakers and pool controls, thus resetting the pool lights from steady white to flashing colors. As a reminder to all guests: if you do something, or have a question, CALL US, as we and our property managers are here to help! Also, trying to bypass safety features and accessing off-limits electrical panels is never a good idea! Our maintenance team has reset the lights; our property manager and a licensed electrician have confirmed everything is working properly and that this guest’s actions caused no damage. We also will be updating our lease to not allow charging of electrical vehicles or oversized equipment. Finally, after talking to another guest in the party staying that week, she kindly offered the following review, allowing us to paste verbatim here: “My family has been coming to Emerald Isle for over 30 years. My husband's parents lived on the island in the early 1960s while my father-in-law worked in Beaufort. Since I joined the family in the late 1980s, we have maintained the tradition of coming to EI for a week, sometimes two, each summer. As you might imagine, we have stayed in many beach rentals over these years. Some we have returned to because they are so nice and meet our needs as a nuclear family, or as an extended family (close to 30 of us some years). The Rustic Peacock in one property we will be returning to. This year, we stayed with friends, not family, at the Rustic Peacock. Our group occupied both sides of this lovely duplex. We found the kitchens to be well-stocked; the houses to be clean and nicely decorated; and the location to be ideal. Whenever we come, we always cook and gather in one house for games and after-dinner conversation. Both houses met this requirement with spacious living spaces and plentiful seating arrangements. Having a pool of our own, cornhole, and abundant porch furniture created delightful non-beach time for recreation and conversation. The houses were clean, with linens, including bath towels and sheets, provided. Finally, the location at The Point is one of the best on all of Emerald Isle. We always come for the quiet, the sand, the ocean and the sun. Rustic Peacock offered fabulous ocean views and wide beaches for us to enjoy. As a bonus, our neighbors were kind and friendly. We have already made arrangements to return to the Rustic Peacock soon.” Beth Daum, Maryland
