Only has a window ac in one room and a floor ac in master. Never did get quite cool enough even with the fans. Yes the mountains are normally cooler but going in July we were shocked to see this. We endured and it was not half bad. The house is nice but it does lean like one other review mentioned. Some of the roads to get to it were rough on my car.
But they did say to have a AWD.
We really enjoyed the remote nature of the cabin! We even had a bear sighting on the gravel road in front of the cabin while we had coffee on the porch. 4 wheel drive is a must, and if you follow the directions provided (do not rely on Google Maps), accessing the cabin is quick and easy. Just a note, there is one part of the road which can be confused for a driveway at the top of a hill, but the road does continue downhill between two houses. We learned our lesson after missing it the first time. The outdoor seating and spaces are peaceful and private. It is a quick drive to the Cherokee reservation and the Soco Waterfall.
Property is well maintained and in a secluded location. Not very far from the main US 19 highway but the access road is tricky and definitely advice a AWD or 4WD.
Also saw a Black bear visit close to the cabin which added to the experience.
This cabin has a great view from the porch. Swing and rocking chairs. Really need to have AWD or 4WD. Beds were very comfortable.

Nice Cabin
Our first time going to NC, found this place in VRBO. To get phone reception is very hard around that whole area, our check in was @ 4pm we got there past 7pm since the roads are very dark and signs are very small some hard to read. Once we got to the cabin, it was very cozy and the area was so peaceful.
Would definitely stay there again.
We loved the location and cabin was nice other than it really leaned in one direction.
There has to be some foundation issues that you can't see because the front foundation is covered up.
Pete was amazing and answered all our questions in a timely manner. Very accommodating. We weather winter storm Elliot there and saw temps -3 degrees. Never lost power. Heat worked great in the cabin. Our family unplugged and enjoyed being together. Our kids enjoyed the fire pit and made s’mores. Definitely recommend a 4WD vehicle to navigate the drive in and out from the cabin due to snow and ice we had. We will be looking forward to our next family adventure!
Pros: Awesome long range Mountain View
Good kitchen and dining area
Cons: Fountain needs to be leveled, half the house is sloping and is very noticeable inside the home
Swing has several cracks, our family would not sit on it
Picnic table had been painted and is now severely peeling and dirty
Extremely slow internet service
We had a great time at the location. Kids enjoyed it and we enjoyed the time to disconnect for life for a week. Definitely not a location for small cars or Motorcycles. Suvs or 4x4 highly recommend. Beautiful area.
Was a great stay, but there were a few things I didn't know. The outside lights at the campfire didn't work. U had a window ac unit that was off so it was really hot when we first arrived. We lost power like 3 times the 2nd morning we were there. The shower in the guest bathroom kept stopping up and the toilet in the main room. The swing had a split up it and was scared to sit on it. The house was very nice and was plenty if towels and cookware. Was a great place to stay.
Pleasant stay with friendly management. However it should be noted that there were a couple of inconveniences. Some minor repairs are needed including fixing the fireplace, which was not working. The toaster oven was also not working and the drain in the guest bathroom was slow.
Very clean, cozy cabin that made us feel right at home. The view was beautiful and there is plenty of room to set outside on the deck. The host was very helpful and quick to answer any questions I had. The cell phone service is not good but it is in the mountains and to be expected. I would recommend a 4wd or an AWD vehicle because I have a Toyota Corolla and had trouble trying to get back out of the road the same way I came in but there is another way out ( to the left out of the driveway) and we managed fine after we figured out to go in one way and out the other but if it was raining or snowing my car would not have made it on the roads. The room is stocked with plenty of dishes, towels and toilet paper. Overall we had a great stay and would stay again!
Remote and secluded getaway into the mountains of Maggie valley. Everything was clean and organized. The road access to the cabin was a little bumpy but we noticed the crew was conditioning the roads several times during our stay. Great location to view the changing of the leaves. It was very relaxing and we would go back. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cabin. DK
It was so peaceful there sitting on the swing on the porch. Love love this place
