About the host
Hosted by Michelle Shelby Spinneweber

I go by Shelby and I am a sagittarius:) Which makes me a lover of travel and adventure . I like to write, read, eat really good food in really nice or really unusual restaurants, and listen to all kinds of music (country, jazz, blues, classical, old rock) I appreciate a finely crafted cocktail and prefer "top shelf". My husband and I have horses and we like to trail ride at the beach and numerous state parks. I am a fan of camping/glamping. I work full time as a realtor in NE Florida and SE Georgia. I also love renovation projects and especially Tiny Houses. I own and manage vacation rental properties in several states and I enjoy getting to share my homes with my guests for their special vacations, celebrations, and milestones in life. In early life I grew up on 40 acres in Butler Pennsylvania. I moved to S. Florida in the 80's and now live in both St. Augustine, FL and White Oak GA.
Why they chose this property
This home is right around the corner from where my Grandma lived for over 50 years. Since childhood I walked to all the downtown businesses from her house. Suite Retreat was formerly the Step Back in Time Bed and Breakfast. The former owner owned and operated it for over 22 years. In her 80s she recently retired and placed this property for sale. When it came available saw an opportunity to give this historic building a bit of a facelift with modern and luxurious furniture and decor and I was able to modify the layout with 3 roomy suites. I own numerous vacation rentals in several states and this is my first PA purchase. I was propelled to make this "move" into my hometown because in the last year I have seen several new breweries and stores open on Main St and I felt that the downtown was being revitalized and I wanted to be a part of that. And I felt offering some unique lodging would be a benefit to people looking to spend some quality time in Butler.
What makes this property unique
The historic nature of the home is beautiful and the location cannot be beat!
