Great place to stay in downtown Butler conveniently located to everything. Quite street and nice people in area. Good yard space for dogs with the back yard fenced in. Nice place to stay for a quick weekend getaway to an extended stay.
We loved the historical charm of this lovely old gem! We had plenty of room to spread out with our whole family and the pool table was a hit for all. Shelby was an excellent hostess that was very helpful when I had questions and was quick to respond. Should we need a place to stay in Butler area in the future, we will hands down stay here again :)
The house is 2 blocks from the Main St and all the neat restaurants and shops. Each bedroom is large, with a sitting room and bathroom. The Speak Easy was seriously cool. This is a house in town, so there are close neighbors and city parking. We would definitely stay again!
We were attending a family reunion and needed something close to town. This was perfect. Walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. The home is older with extreme characters! The suites were perfect for 3 couples. Hoping to stay again soon!
We stayed for the weekend of our daughter’s wedding. We loved this unique old house. The suites were spacious and private. The beds were so comfy. We enjoyed the pool table. The kitchen has two refrigerators which was really nice as we had food and beverages for the weekend and were able to keep drinks cold. They have board games, books and dvds. (DVD player too!) The yard is nice and well landscaped. This beautiful old house had so much character that you could feel the history of the house! They also welcomed our Weiner dogs which we don’t like to leave behind, ever. We would recommend this house to anyone who likes a rustic, warm and cozy environment.
The perfect location for family to gather for an out of town wedding! There was plenty of privacy with the three suites and tons of space for gathering together. We were able to take advantage of the brewery within walking distance and shopping along Main Street. This house did not disappoint!
We were staying here for my wedding! Check in and check out was very easy! Very spacious and each room had its only little spunk to it! Loved all the furniture and decorations. Everyone loved playing pool and sitting outside in the backyard. We had so much room and more for the people staying with us!
Four adults stayed during the week. Owner was on the spot and very gracious. Nice deck and plenty of seating room. Cute bedrooms and baths 😉. Thanks for a peaceful getaway.
Great property. Comfortably fit 7 family members here. 3 nice bedrooms each with a private bath. The guys loved the pool table. Very nice restored older home. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect
The property was perfect for our family gathering to see our son graduate from Slippery Rock University. The historic house was tastefully decorated and spaciously comfortable and met all of our needs. The property owners were extremely responsive and friendly to our questions. We recommend this property to anybody staying in the Butler area!! Thank you for helping make our special event even more special!!
I go by Shelby and I am a sagittarius:) Which makes me a lover of travel and adventure . I like to write, read, eat really good food in really nice or really unusual restaurants, and listen to all kinds of music (country, jazz, blues, classical, old rock) I appreciate a finely crafted cocktail and prefer "top shelf". My husband and I have horses and we like to trail ride at the beach and numerous state parks. I am a fan of camping/glamping. I work full time as a realtor in NE Florida and SE Georgia. I also love renovation projects and especially Tiny Houses. I own and manage vacation rental properties in several states and I enjoy getting to share my homes with my guests for their special vacations, celebrations, and milestones in life. In early life I grew up on 40 acres in Butler Pennsylvania. I moved to S. Florida in the 80's and now live in both St. Augustine, FL and White Oak GA.
Why they chose this property
This home is right around the corner from where my Grandma lived for over 50 years. Since childhood I walked to all the downtown businesses from her house. Suite Retreat was formerly the Step Back in Time Bed and Breakfast. The former owner owned and operated it for over 22 years. In her 80s she recently retired and placed this property for sale. When it came available saw an opportunity to give this historic building a bit of a facelift with modern and luxurious furniture and decor and I was able to modify the layout with 3 roomy suites. I own numerous vacation rentals in several states and this is my first PA purchase. I was propelled to make this "move" into my hometown because in the last year I have seen several new breweries and stores open on Main St and I felt that the downtown was being revitalized and I wanted to be a part of that. And I felt offering some unique lodging would be a benefit to people looking to spend some quality time in Butler.
What makes this property unique
The historic nature of the home is beautiful and the location cannot be beat!
