Full kitchen, family room, satellite TV, central air, with attached garage. Large poured patio and shade trees. Perfect for a quiet retreat, couples getaway, family vacation, or a base for hunting, fishing, or sight-seeing. Large yard and sandy beach with a gentle depth slope ideal for swimming. Lake Poinsett is one of the largest natural lakes in South Dakota and is great for water sports or fishing. This home is less than a mile from a golf course, grocery store, bait shops, restaurants/bars, gas dock, and marine dealer. Safely located on a local frontage road yet with quick access to US Hwy 81. 80 minutes from Sioux Falls and a short drive to Brookings, Watertown, Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House on The Prairie, Terry Redlin Art Center, SD Children's Museum, South Dakota State University Jackrabbit sports, and various area fishing lakes and hunting opportunities. We will consider a cancellation refund minus a 25% fee provided property is able to be rented during same period for the same amount or greater.

Perfect getaway

Darin and Becky are such wonderful hosts. They made sure we were taken care of and easily reachable if we had any questions. The house was perfect for a family of 5, exactly what I think of when wanting to get away at the lake. We will most likely return, our 3 year old said he even wantedus to buy the house. Thanks, Darin and Becky, for the wonderful stay!

If you are looking to fish here, check water quality projections. We, unfortunately, stayed during a blue/green algae bloom so couldn’t fish. BUT the home itself was wonderful and we would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed this Lake Cabin. It is a beautiful location with a nice beach for the kids to play and swim. The house is well furnished and clean. There is a nice patio in the back to enjoy the evenings with family. I would definitely book again.

Great place stay

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this property. We came up to relax and go fishing for the weekend. The cabin had all of the amenities we needed. The owner was great to work with and helpful if we needed anything. Great location. Definitely plan on coming back!

We are from the area and have always enjoyed Lake Poinsett. This will be our 19th year on the lake. Upon purchasing this cabin we began sharing our original cabin less than a mile away, with guests through VRBO #897727. We are very proud of the great reviews we have received there and we will be doing all we can to have the same type of reviews here. We continue to enjoy the fishing, swimming, bicycling, golfing, boating, and the many activities associated with having a lake cabin.

A quiet spot on the lake, well located, roomy, and recently remodeled. Less than a mile to everything you need such as a grocery store, restaurant, bar, bait shop, and golf course. In addition, Lake Poinsett is one of the largest natural lakes in South Dakota and has so many advantages with the large variety of activities at the lake along with nearby hunting and fishing. We can help you get connected with hunting opportunities or share the latest in where they are biting.

What makes this property unique

It is hard to find a property which offers this large lawn and patio combination to either relax in the shade or play in the sun.
