Twenty-five minutes to UGA, downtown Athens. Ten minutes to beautiful downtown Monroe for antique shopping and dining. Close to several local wedding venues. Uber/Lyft available.
Beautiful quiet country setting. Great weekend rental for football game, weddings, antique shopping. Visiting Striplings General Store, eight minute drive, during your stay is a must. Longer weekend rentals must be approved by owners. Wheelchair assessable entry, but bathroom entry smaller & shower is not roll in, 4 inch step in.

ATTENTION: Dogs and cats live on this property.

One or two night rental available.

Great UGA weekend!

Loved this VRBO away from the business of the Athens crowd, but close enough to enjoy a quick drive into downtown Athens for the game.

Great stay outside Athens

We had a great experience staying here. John was super friendly making sure we had everything we needed, going above and beyond with waters, ice and snacks for us. The property is beautiful with friendly cats, dogs and chickens. The pool was clean and we were able to play music through the speakers. Our favorite part was the movie room where were enjoyed watching tv shows and movies on the projector! Beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. The bathroom was very clean with towels and toiletries. We would recommend staying here and will again when we are back in the area.

Great spot - close to everything Athens but very private!

This was perfect for our overnight stay after a UGA game. The theater room was perfect for watching football before and after the game. It was incredibly well stocked!!! Cosmetic products, snacks, everything we could want. John can to check on us when we arrived and gave us information about nearby stores we might need. We would definitely stay here again.

Great stay for game day

This property was great! Remote ish area but an easy 20-25 minutes to the UGA campus. The space was totally clean, fully stocked with anything we’d need and have plenty of room for myself and 3 guests. The hosts were extremely communicative and answered all our questions and provided great direction. Thanks !!

Game day Getaway

My husband and I went to our first GA game in Athens and made a weekend of it. Definitely recommend! It is an easy drive to and from Athens…especially after a Dawg win! Our stay was wonderful! The home is located in a beautiful neighborhood and the rental is the full basement level with private entry. It has a huge living room and kitchen (with anything you’d ever need) as well as private theater room with a huge projection screen! If the weather didn’t cooperate on Saturday, we could have easily enjoyed staying and watching the game on the big screen in the comfortable recliners!! There are two bedrooms and large bathroom. The owners really do make you feel right at home and are very responsive.

Hidden county gem!

Loved, loved, loved this property. Came to town for a wedding for friends in downtown Monroe. Only 7 miles away. Really enjoyed the theater watching football game on the big screen. Loved the recliners that layed almost flat. Everything closes early in downtown Monroe and was hungry when we got back. They had snacks for us to eat. Then I noticed I forgot my toothbrush and they had this wonderful basket of things for the stay. Little extras like this make it awesome! When we woke up they have a Keurig machine so we had coffee and played some pool before we left. Thanks so much for a great night stay in the country!

Hidden gem when in Athens

This place was amazing and felt very private. John and Angie checked in on my arrival time and provided excellent directions so arriving in the dark was no issue. John greeted us and gave us a tour and history of the house and welcomed us into his beautiful home. The downstairs has a movie theater. THE SOUND QUALITY WAS AMAZING. I am definitely booking now for next year's game and staying longer. I really appreciate their accomodations.

Hospitable Host, Some issues

The hosts were very nice to take us on last minute, and the property was beautiful. We had a couple of personal issues. For example, the beds were VERY soft, and we had a hard time sleeping. Also, we were not aware cats were on the property or had been in the basement. I was sneezing all night and had allergy issues within the VRBO. We could hear the pets and people upstairs, which caused issues keeping kids asleep. The air vents in the rooms were very dirty. On the positive side, the host we met was very nice, they supplied the necessities for the trip, and they have an amazing backyard for the kids to play in.

Wonderful place right outside of Athens!

Great place to stay about 20 minutes from the University of Georgia! The hosts were easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed for our weekend stay. The property was clean, well maintained, and spacious! Lots of games, pool table, and the theater room was fantastic (with reclining seats). We will definitely book again when traveling to Athens.

True southern hospitality

Our stay with John and Angie couldn’t have gone better! They were working in the yard and stopped to welcome us upon our arrival. The living quarters were spotless and the kitchen and bathrooms had all the amenities available that one would need. The entertainment room was a great place to relax and put our feet up after our drive. Angie provided us with a hand steamer so we could make our dress attire look just right for the wedding we were attending, and John even offered to give our group a ride if we were unable to find an Uber in the area. We simply enjoyed every minute with such wonderful people, on such a great piece of property! High recommended!

Why they chose this property

We wanted a quiet country setting. Greene acres is just that! Over nine acres with deer living in our back acres & feeding almost daily in our field. Lots of other sightings....birds, armadillo, racoons, etc. No close contacts.
We do have a few chickens. Also some cats and two dogs. All very friendly.
We do recommend you search elsewhere if there is any animal allergy.

What makes this property unique

Nature. Theater room. Game room. Grill available. Firepit available. Although a basement apartment...is very private.
