This is a lovely place, with beautiful grounds and a great dock and ocean scene. The caretakers are wonderful, attentive and helpful, without being intrusive. It is quiet and remote from towns and shopping. This is a real home rental, rather than part of a development.

The rains came heavy and the walkway was flooded with water 8-10” deep. I couldn’t leave the house.This shouldn’t be solicited as a house, it’s 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. No sitting area .

A good spot to stay!

Edie’s place is a gem, and the caretaker Orlando was friendly and helpful. We love to cook and the kitchen was spacious and well equipped. The sea breeze kept us from needing AC in the front bedroom, but the kids were grateful for powerful AC in the stuffier back bedroom. Beautiful landscaping. No complaints!

Lovely property and pier. House a bit tired. The 2/AC's not working.

The grounds are well maintained and very tropical. The outside upper deck was so comforting for relaxing and dining outdoors looking out over the ocean.

Absolutely loved the view location and accommodations but the refrigerator broke down as soon as we got there so about half of our food was spoiled and we had to throw it away. We also had problems with the plumbing system which made it difficult to use the bathrooms … caretakers were kind enough to have us use the bottom bathroom and Juan the supervisor tried his best to help but there was really nothing he could do. We had to cut our vacation one day short because of this. View is spectacular!!!!

Wonderful Stay

I stayed at Casa Eddie from Jan 9 to Jan 15, 2020 with the family, including my two kids aged 5 and 7 and would highly recommend it. The property is like you see it on the pictures: oceanfront, very clean and well maintained. We were truly amazed. I traveled a lot in central America, including Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama and Honduras and this place scores among the best. Lots of birds to see directly from the veranda. Great landscaping and private beach with shallow water for the kids (we were there all the time). Lounging chairs and kayaks were also available. I’m sure you can fish out of the dock. Rooms were clean, spacious, and well appointed. There is a nice outdoor sitting area for meals and drinks at the sound of the waves. Excellent WiFi, AC and kitchen amenities, including a BBQ. Orlando, the caretaker, is a great host and he was able to answer all our questions and provide us with good recommendation with regards to groceries, snorkeling tours, restaurants, etc. The welcome binder was also a good source of information. One morning, I woke up to realize he had washed my car! Plasencia is about 15-20 minutes away given all the speed bumps so better to have your own car if you want to explore the area on your own. What I liked about this location is that it is on the northern part of the peninsula, which ended-up cutting a lot of driving time if you want to use it as a base to go to Maya Beach, Hopkins, Dangria, and Cockscomb Basin, while still being close to Plasencia. The sister property (Casa Corazon) is even more amazing with a pool and some additional amenities such as additional bedrooms and a larger outdoor deck. I would definitely go back.

They thought of everything and more!!

Upon arrival we were welcomed as if we were home. The accommodations were beautiful and supplied with everything we could possibly need. The caretakers went over and above by bringing fruit to try and even washed our rental car. We will be booking more stays at this house! Highly recommend VRBO and this property!

This home is beautiful, and so are its grounds, dock and sea. The caretaker is exceptionally friendly, nice and helpful, without being intrusive. It is quiet and peaceful, not close to shopping.

Wonderful home on the ocean!

Casa Edie is very nicely decorated with all the accessories you need for an enjoyable stay. The owners and onsite caretakers go out of their way to be helpful. Fantastic location right on the ocean. Use of long dock with sitting areas (including hammocks) is a real bonus. Great value - highly recommended!
