The Waikiki Grand has a great location near the beach and the zoo and the park. If you like living without air conditioning it is quite noisy with street traffic and the bar on the second floor. The view of the ocean and Diamond Head is fantastic!
We loved the location of this property. Being able to see Diamond Head and the beach from the balcony added to our trip! Adequate stocking for eating and beach.
We had all the necessities provided. The staff were friendly and helpful. Access to buses and trollies and the beach and shopping was awesome and easy. The biggest downside was the noise level due to the types of windows but you get used to it.

Terrible room. Very small and dirty. The room is above a bar with noise and loud music until 2:00 am.

Too noisy due to the bar below!
Good location in town, but sadly bad location for the room as it is right over the bar!!! Music was playing till early in the morning. We were not able to sleep! Also, no countertop to put any of your items on in the sink area,
Over all is good. But sometimes 411 was noisy of the restaurant down there. May not be the same for other rooms or higher floors. I enjoyed my vacation. Thanks all.
This unit was absolutely adorable! A blast from the past ... We were comfortable and happy! The location was perfect for being in Waikiki but not in the middle of the noise. Located near open space and perfect for beach going. From this location you really don't need a car ... Walking distance to restaurants, and all the best parts of Waikiki including the International Marketplace, Honolulu Zoo, hiking Diamond Head, surfing, snorkeling. Right off The Bus line and easy access for Uber.
Well appointed and quite comfortable. Beautiful views out into park and Diamond Head. Easy access to bus stops.
Would not recommend white bed covering as a bit hard to keep clean for beach location. Also many of the kitchen things had no purpose without stove and coffee pot cord does not reach outlet?!? So maybe reorganize all that.

Great view, that‘s about it.
Forth floor, almost immediately above a restaurant/bar - didn‘t know. Food stench and gut-wrenching boombox noise until midnight. Road noise from car and motorcycle idiots to screaming pedestrians. Window AC on all night just to try to drown out the noise. Only two wall plugs available, others consumed by all kinds of gear or altogether broken. Two memorable nights only in how horrible they were. Checked out one night early and got a grown-up place instead. Maybe OK if you are young and rowdy and don‘t much sleep, stay away otherwise.

We’re sorry this guest did not enjoy their stay, but their comments misrepresent the property.
The location and proximity to nearby restaurants and nightlife are clearly stated in the listing, and guests consistently note that the building’s vibrant surroundings are part of what makes Waikīkī such an energetic destination. The unit is located two floors above a restaurant and bar, not “immediately above” it. While occasional noise can occur in this lively area, most guests find it manageable and appreciate the convenience of being steps from the beach, park, and dining.
The apartment is regularly inspected — all outlets are functional and the air conditioning operates properly, as confirmed before and after this stay.
It appears this guest chose to check out early for personal preference rather than any failure of the property itself. We encourage future guests to read other reviews for an accurate and balanced view of the apartment and its setting within Waikīkī’s active neighborhood.
False and misleading advertising and listing for the room. Is not a private residence, is a condotel. There is a nightclub a block down and a bar on the second floor so dont expect to get any sleep. Staff and host are entirely u helpful in adressing issues. Room was not clean, someone elses trash under the dresser, no room service, leaking ac, regular window doesnt open, not a real kitchenette as advertised(was a microwave on top of a nightstand type cabinet and a coffee pot on top of a mini fridge, no parking unless you book waaaaay in advance, ice machine is disgusting if you actually look into it where the ice is formed. I booked this as a private studio apartment, not a hotel, arrived to find a hotel. They lease through various agents and companies, staff arent even sure what room belongs to who, will not give you accurate parking information and are not hospitable at all. When bringing up issues with the staff i was told "its a free country" and that staff can say whatever info they want to people. Overall, a really awful experience and would not recommend to anyone.

We appreciate your feedback, though several of your statements are inaccurate and misleading.
The listing photos and description are completely accurate, showing the exact apartment, view, and layout. The view is clearly described as overlooking Kapiolani Park and Diamond Head, which matches what guests see from the lanai — not an oceanfront view.
The property does have water on site, as it’s a fully plumbed residential building; it’s unclear what you meant by that comment. The kitchenette includes a microwave, mini-fridge, toaster, coffee maker, and dishes, exactly as shown and stated in the listing.
As for noise, the bar is located two floors below, not “two doors down.” Noise levels can vary depending on the time and day, and we always note in advance that this is a vibrant area near popular nightlife venues.
We encourage future guests to read other reviews for a true and accurate picture of the property, its location, and the experience offered.

Not very clean & noisy because of the bar below
Room was not very clean, upkeep was not great either. The room is above a bar which is very noisy. The parking they offer only has about 10 spots for its guests, if that, and it was sold out. Had to pay for parking across the street by the hour.

Not a relaxing hawaiian vacation
First off, I love the view, but it wasn't worth it. I had planned to stay here for 6 nights, but the sound bleed from the open air 2nd floor nightclub is UNBEARABLE. I ended up relocating to another hotel halfway through my trip. I live in San Francisco and I'm very use to noise in a busy city. However, the club here breeds drunk people until 2am every night, and they stay in that general area the entire time. You hear every single conversation of every passerbyer. My Airpods noise-cancelling did not work, as I can still hear the rumbles and the bed shake from the noise. I woke up at least 3 times because I thought it was an earthquake. It is a great location, near the beach, but just be prepared for the drunk people yelling "Chee-hoo!" the entire night. If you want a relaxing Hawaii vacation, you have been warned, you will not get SLEEP here!

Not as pictured would not recommend
Read before you book.
My husband and I were on our 15th anniversary and his birthday. We reserved this room based on the description of newly remodeled and the view from the balcony.
Check in was good room was not. It was not as pictured room was not newly remodeled it was dirty and balcony was nasty the air conditioner water catcher was full Hadn’t been empty in a month.
The inside of the room was dirty, Room was set up for the air conditioner to point right at the head of the bed so finding a way to divert the airflow from the bed was a trick with out turning it off completely too hot for that. The remote control would only work if you were standing directly in front of the TV.
There is an open space bar 2 floors below that parties until 3am so sleeping is not an option until the bar closes as the patio door also does not close properly and allows noise to flow through along with other air gaps and in insulated areas windows.
I contacted the owner he asked what they could do to make it better and then never responded. I have pictures of the dirty room floor (I had to clean the floors as soon as we arrived due to sand on the floors). The room was out dated the only good I can find is it was a close walk to the beach.

We chose this place because it seemed like the best value based on our preferences. I think we chose well and I would strongly recommend this place to anyone on a budget who cares about location and view.
We were right at the end of the Waikiki strip, a block from the beach and our balcony looked right out over the zoo and park with an absolutely glorious view of diamond head. Each morning we had coffee on the balcony in the comfy chairs, taking in the inspirational view, and glancing down to our right to watch the surfers catching waves. There’s even a thoughtfully placed mirror in the room by the window so you can see the reflection of the beach from various places in the room.
The room itself was furnished in a basic manner: nothing fancy but everything was there—even more than we had hoped for. The room had 2 sets of beach chairs and an umbrella which came in handy, extra beach towels, a broom and vacuum to keep up with the constant flow of sand coming off our clothes. We asked for a water kettle because we brew lots of coffee and they provided us one. The air conditioner was a bit on the noisy side but we never found it necessary, perhaps the tile helped keep the room cool enough. There was a bit of a funky smell to the room, but it didn’t bother me.
Others have complained about the noise from the bar below. For us, it wasn’t anything that really bothered us but we’ve lived in several noisy apartment.

Good location but super loud-- This unit was not a fit for us.
So I will start by saying I've stayed at the Waikiki Grand Hotel many times in the past. This was my first time in this particular unit and with this particular property management company. I have loved my previous stays that WGH but this particular unit just wasn't the right fit for us though.
The room was on the 4th floor and was extremely loud from sunrise when the delivery trucks start rolling in, until about 2:30 am which is when the dance club empties out on the 2nd floor of this building. Even with the AC running and earplugs it was pretty much impossible to sleep in this unit.
The room itself has pretty limited amenities. This is the 1st time I've stay in a room here where there wasn't some sort of a kitchenette with a sink. They did have a mini fridge, coffee pot, microwave and a small cabinet with some kitchen basics. (Just be prepared to do any dishes in the small bathroom sink or shower.)
The room unfortunately was not very clean. There were splashes of things on the bathroom walls near toilet, the shower curtains had that red tint mold on the white liners, there were long hairs on the floor, and the baseboards were really dirty throughout the unit as well.
The pluses here are the management company was very responsive throughout the reservation. They did offer to send up someone to do an inspection and address the cleaning matter. The noise issue was probably out of their hands-- but I would recommend that they put a discloser on the listings.

— I’m sorry to hear that you did not share the 5-star experience that our guests who have stayed before and after you have, although I understand that no two experiences are alike and expectations vary. It is important to us that our units are clean and presentable for our guests, and the feedback you provided has helped our team to address these issues. Although the photos provided in the listing of this vacation property are accurate in reflecting the space and the furnishings in it, we would have been responsive to the issues you were experiencing, to ensure your stay was comfortable, if not pleasurable. Rest assured, your feedback back is welcomed and your concerns have been addressed and remedied, for the benefit of future guests.
