The bathrooms have original fixtures and floor tiles to preserve the beauty and integrity of this historic home. This is not new construction. There may be a creaky floorboard, a dripping faucet here and there, but it is all original to this home built in 1921.

*** Also of note--Our property has a B&B license and this B&B is a modern take on the way people travel. With an on-site manager who resides on the property, you will still feel as though you are completely alone and have complete privacy. Our manager, Katie, lives in a separate unit on the grounds. She has a separate entrance to the yard and is available only to the extent that you wish her to be. We offer keyless entry to the house so you don’t even have to meet anyone, but Katie is available for any emergencies during your stay. Need to find a flashlight? Katie can be there to show you where it is! But, if you desire privacy and the feeling that you are home without having to say "hello" to anyone, you can have that as well. We can also provide grocery shopping service prior to your stay and have the refrigerator stocked with all your favorite items and provide you with the receipt (hourly rate applies for shopping service). Welcome to the modern B&B in the historic neighborhood!

We were in town for a wedding, so we did not utilize the kitchen very much. We did enjoy a meal at the gorgeous dining room table. The puzzle table was a great addition for the little down time we had. The historic charm really exemplified the feel of the wedding atmosphere. The bedroom layouts were perfect for the number of people we had staying together. We really enjoyed our stay!
The house is gorgeous! We had plenty of room for our girls’ trip. Communication with the owner was great. At one point I was at the grocery store and couldn’t remember which type of coffee pot was at the house. She answered quickly and saved me from buying something I didn’t need. House location is also very convenient. Very close to the airport and riverfront area. I would rent this house again!
We had a great stay in Wilmington at this property. It is a fantastic location with ample parking. The host was very easy to communicate with— very timely text responses. This would be a great place to stay with a large group
The kitchen was great and had everything you needed, House was big with plenty of room for my family of 12, The host was awesome and stayed in touch with me. The showers were old and hard to get water temp right,

Great Weekend at Magnolia House
Our group had a great time at Magnolia House. It was beautiful and spacious with a lot of charm and Natalie was so helpful with anything we needed. The location is great too - a $5-10 Uber to anywhere downtown and $25 Uber to the beach. Wouldn't change a thing!

Dear Brielle,
Thank you for this kind review! I love the fact that you used Uber to get around Wilmington from Magnolia House. It's so true- the house is very central to everything the city has to offer. The location is one of my favorite things about it. We are in the historic downtown area, and yet on a quiet street. And, we just an Uber ride from the beach without the hassle of high season parking.
You were a pleasure to work with! Please come back for another visit soon!

Our family (10 adults) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Magnolia House while visiting Wilmington for my nieces wedding. The host was attentive to all questions and requests to include arranging an early check-in which was definitely appreciated! The location seemed central to going everyplace in the area. We found the house to be spacious and well equipped.
In summary, we highly recommend this VRBO home.
This house truly is beautiful. It has plenty of room for larger groups looking to stay or even a small group. It is very reasonably priced for the 4000 square feet it offers. It is a 3 minute drive or Uber to the river walk and shops and restaurants. The property manager was very helpful and accessible. We had debated a beach house but I’m glad we chose this place. Very cool and clean colonial style home. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking to be close to everything Wilmington has to offer!

Great Weekend Getaway!
This house is perfect for a large group! There was plenty of room for everyone to spend time together but also have their own space! It is located in an awesome location close to downtown! The weather was perfect so we were able to walk and explore downtown easily. It was perfect as it allowed us to cook some meals at the house and provided ample appliances and cookware. We will definitely be back!!!

Clean Comfortable Spacious for large group gatherings
Clean, homey, but electrical issues need some attention and updating♥️
We gathered in Wilmington to spend time with friends that we all made back in the 70s in Charlotte. We try to get together annually and this year we chose Wilmington because one of the couples now lives Wilmington. Staying in this house was great for 9 of the folks in our group. This house was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the living areas, two of them, were large and lots of furniture to sit on and visit with our friends.

This home made our trip very relaxing
Although this is an older home it was charming and very comfortable. It was also very well equipped and I was very pleased to see the baby stroller and high chair as I had my 18 month old grandson with us. The large rooms and kitchen made it the perfect place to host our daughter’s wedding reception.
Natalie, the owner was always accessible to us for any questions we had and Libby, the house manager went out of her way to make us feel at home.
I would recommend this home to anyone staying in the Wilmington area.
Rented this house to stay in for my son’s wedding. It is huge with plenty of spaces for different activities. The house details are so cool. The kitchen is fully stocked and nice size. It has 2 refrigerators. Beds were very comfortable. Property owner was very nice. Katie, the property manager was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this property!

Perfect Getaway
The Magnolia House turned out to be a great space for a reunion of seven adults and a dog. The house itself is beautiful, if in need of a little maintenance here and there. The kitchen is enormous and was perfect for us all to relax and eat meals in. The bedrooms are large and comfortable.
The property manager was extremely welcoming and helpful and the house was clean and in good shape for us to begin our week. I will definitely keep this house in mind next year when scheduling our vacation.
Response from VrboOwner on 19 Mar, 2020
Dear Daniel,
Thank you for staying at the Magnolia House for your reunion. It is great to hear that you found the house clean and in good condition for your stay. We enjoyed having your group stay with us, and I do hope you will consider reuniting at the Magnolia House again!
Best Regards,
Natalie
We reserved this home because we were hosting family and friends for the weekend. Our daughter graduated college, and we needed a good-sized home to host out-of-town family and a dinner party. Everybody loved it. We had chefs prepare dinner. The kitchen was perfect for them—plenty of space with three sinks. This is a historical home with "quirks," as most do have. Made it fun though!
The house was as described by the owner so that our entire large family was quite comfortable. the neighborhood was in a very quiet suburb and welcoming. The backyard was big enough that all the grandkids could run, jump, climb a big tree. Everyone had a big bedroom with access to a private bath. We would definitely come back and recommend for a large family/group. Manger and owners responded promptly to any questions or concerns we had. A very pleasant experience and vacation was had by the whole family(8 adults and 4 kiddos).
We visited for our son's wedding in downtown Wilmington at The Atrium. The house was very clean throughout! Kitchen was well equipped and worked out really well to host the Rehearsal Brunch we hosted with the owners permission. Plenty of serving dishes as well as glasses and plates came in handy! We also had all of the groomsmen gather before the wedding to get ready as it was spacious enough and so close to the venue in downtown. The neighborhood was very quiet and there was plenty of parking. We were also close enough to the beach to fit in a few beach trips both before and after the wedding. The area also has every store you could think of within a 15 minute drive. Katie, the manager, was quickly available for any concerns that we had. Natalie, the owner, was also wonderful to work with and kindly returned our pet deposit when we determined that our elderly pup would be happier at home.

About the host
Hosted by Natalie
We are a family of five living in Wilmington and loving our beautiful city! Natalie began her career in hospitality management at The St. Regis Hotel in NYC and has a strong commitment to guest comfort and satisfaction. By purchasing the B&B, we fulfilled a life long dream.
Why they chose this property
We purchased this home after falling in love with it while staying as guests in the Bed and Breakfast. We were expecting our first child at the time, and moving to Wilmington, and this house felt like home from the first moment we entered it. The large, brightly lit rooms were filled with promise for a beautiful life with our growing family. As time went on we welcomed three children into our family while living in this home, and that has been the most important and exciting time of our lives. We now have the opportunity to share Magnolia House, as we originally purchased it to run the B&B. We welcome you to experience the beauty and history of Wilmington and Carolina Heights.
What makes this property unique
Our house has so many special qualities. What makes it special to us is its history and the architectural beauty. The front door alone is a beauty, and is unlike any other front door in the city. The traditional 1920s colonial style with arches, intricate carvings in the fireplace mantles, original tile in the bathrooms, original glass throughout the home, and the high ceilings are not what you would find in new construction. Wilmington is also a special destination, rich in history and culture. What better location than a family neighborhood with easy access to the river and the beach! It is our pleasure to share it with you.
