Our family of 4 comfortably stayed here and enjoyed every minute. The property is quiet and secluded while being close to many fun outings. Everything we were looking for in our weekend away!
We so enjoy staying at this cabin. We were married 17 years ago on Clitheral Lake. We come back everyday to celebrate. Love it being so quiet and secluded.
This is a rustic and warm hidden delight! We had exceptional privacy and very comfortable living arrangements at this cabin. The lake views were amazing. The amenities provided everything we needed. Jennifer provided excellent communication and information about events in the area.
Perfect to visit friends with a cabin on Stuart Lake
Everything was great. The dock was perfect - We were picked up every morning by our friends in their boat. We didn't stay at the cabin except to sleep and it was very comfortable. The only thing that surprised us was that there was no coffee provided and luckily we had asked in advance about shampoo so we brought that with us. Just pointing this out for the next person in case they don't think to bring their own shampoo and coffee. Thank you Jennifer for a great stay. We will definitely come back.
Very private and quiet. Super lot and location. Cabin was nice and clean, a traditional lake cabin! The lake access was pretty steep with lots of stairs and no beach. The lake was crystal clear though and was nice and sandy off the dock! Very nice!
We really enjoyed this place for it beauty and privacy. We spent both pleasant mornings and early evenings on the deck overlooking the lake enjoying the views. The fishing was excellent in this small lake with many varieties including some very large Sunnies. There is a screened-in fish cleaning hut that made that chore much easier. The property manager, Jenny, was great to work with. Everything considered It was a memorable and great trip and I would rent this place again.
4 night stay on beautiful Stuart Lake. Fishing was awesome for bass, crappies and bluegills, nice size. Enjoyed the deck overlooking the lake and secluded property, lots of quiet and privacy. The fish cleaning house was a bonus. Accomodations were good for 2 adults. Everything mainlevel, bedrooms on lower walkout level. The cabin was immaculate and clean. Did not use washer/dryer, trash compactor, dishwasher, or gas grill.. Microwave was handy, stove was a little tricky to figure out and get temps set properly. Garbage disposal worked well. Really enjoyed our stay and weather could not have been nicer.
Between family and rentals my husband and I came to Minnesota for vacations for 41 years. After he passed last may I had to keep the tradition going. Had to give our pontoon away so I was looking for somewhere to fish from the dock. This worked for bass. Had a good time catching them. We’d been coming to otter tail county 12 years. Only complaint is a very nasty neighbor would ski very close to the dock and purposely drop right where I was fishing. Never encountered a person like that in Minnesota. When I said I’m fishing here his response was yes I see that.and dropped in the exact same spot next pass. So 4 days of fishing was kind of ruined. Lots of wildlife and the eagles greeted us when we got there. Pricey but worth the view. Easy communication.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return. The is a typical Minnesota-style cabin, meaning built long ago and charming for that very reason! The cabin is well-maintained and we found it very clean and impeccably tidy inside. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet this property afforded us, with neighbors and noisy roads quite a distance away. This is a beautiful lake for swimming, snorkeling, and fishing - all right off the dock! Simplicity at its best. Linens are provided, which is really nice. For planning, be aware of the following: There is no private bedroom but visual privacy is provided by a partition. This worked well for us, as a family. Also, while the kitchen has all the pots, pans and gadgets you will need, it is not stocked with the typical sundries (flour, sugar, seasonings, oil, etc.) - so be sure to bring them if you plan to cook.Bring your own life jackets and water toys. The only improvement i can think of would be to provide a simple canoe, row boat, or paddle boat maybe? Thanks so much!
We were looking for a place on Stuart Lake, as we vacationed at a private cabin for 10 years back in the 70's with our parents and family growing up! We were familiar with this cabin. Such a charming cozy spot! Very clean with all amenities as listed. Booking and our stay was seamless, great communication with Jenny, our contact for the rental. Beautiful views, lovely coffee time on the deck, grilling out back in a expansive secluded yard. Very close to local towns. Perfect for 3 sisters as downstairs sleeping area fine for our needs. View of lake unmatched. We so enjoyed re exploring a lake once so familiar! thank you!
A secluded hidden gem - a great place to spend the last few days of summer. Easy booking with a very friendly accommodating host. The cabin overlooks the lake and is very peaceful and quiet. Had a great time and would recommend to this place to others.
A clean, well-maintained, and very private lake cabin, with excellent lake views and some delightful swimming! Good communication with the property manager.
Cabin is rustic with an awesome view of Stuart Lake. Lake has a sandy/rock bottom that is great for swimming. Guys had fun fishing and caught plenty of fish. The lake is pretty quiet so tubing was great. Cabin is secluded with lots of trees and no close neighbors. Great spot to relax and reconnect with family.
Easy review… we had the most wonderful week at this house/lake. The home, the lake, the fishing, the sunsets, all so great. Mother Nature came into play, but that is a really cool part of the experience. Jenny was great, communicative, supportive, etc… cannot recommend this enough if you love lakes, fishing, and great family bonding. Thank you for the best time we can remember!!
Very private property, secluded and peaceful on a beautiful 740 acre lake with little boating traffic. Lake is exceptional for swimming, fishing and general recreation. Plenty of cabin amenities. If you plan to grill, a gas grill is available and requires your own propane, or bring a portable charcoal grill. Washer and dryer is a nice benefit and plenty of utensils. With only 2 in our party, dishes were done the old fashioned way. Steps to lower level bed bedroom as the steps to lake could be challenging for mobility impaired. Fishing was good both on the lake around the cabin and from the dock. Two lakeside patios great for outdoor R&R and eating outdoors. Property is well equipped, very clean and well maintained throughout.
The cabin is what it is. There were no big expectations based on the pictures so no surprises. We slept on the pullout couch to be on the same level as the small bathroom. Besides, the basement was pretty musty smelling. The whole stay was perfect except the wasp situation was horrible.

Why they chose this property
The most secluded and private rental in my portfolio! Very clean and comfortable cabin that sits 5 acres and 400 feet of shoreline. Get away from it all and enjoy the lake and serenity of this great spot. A must see!
