Other Things to Note:
What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling? A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

The house was beautiful, just as pictured. The view from all the windows were amazing. The only negative or what wasn’t so amazing was the furniture. The chairs in the living room were not so comfortable and the beds were harder than we were all used to. Overall the house was clean and beautiful and we had a great time!
We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, and beautiful home. A few small things could have been better, but overall enjoyed the stay! Close to Yellowstone and amazing views, we even had a moose walk thru behind the back yard!
Beautiful and gorgeous home! Wonderful views and perfect location for seeing all of Yellowstone! Would stay here again. Loved the firepit and the indoor fireplace! It was very cool during our stay and it was perfect! Kitchen and kitchen amenities were just what was needed! Thanks for a lovely stay!

This place was a highlight of our trip! Even better than the online description. Very welcoming and beautiful decor and scenery was breathtaking. Very comfortable for my family of 4. A moose visited the first night- sounds like a regular- and that too was a highlight but we were sure to keep our distance. I’m thankful to have found this gem and appreciate being able to stay.
This place was enough off the beaten path but not too far. 25 minutes from west entrance. The house is gorgeous and has the most amazing views on all sides of the home. The coffee pot was broken and they had a new one at the house in a few hours. My only complaint about the house was the pillows in the bedrooms. You can tell that they are old and worn out.
The house and property was beautiful. Emailed instructions were easy to follow once we realized the mile markers were on the opposite side of the road. Only hiccup was trying to figure out how to turn on the gas fireplace. When I called to ask about it, the mailbox was full. A number was given to text after hours. Tried that and never received a response. It was cold out. A fireplace would have been really nice. However, it didn't ruin the trip. We would definitely recommend the property to anyone wanting a comfortable place to stay for a few days or more.
The location to the parks is fantastic! Each night we came home to a moose and 2 babies, coyotes, deer and an Eagle. The opportunity with the home was the furnishings-the chairs next to the couch were outdoor chairs with a piece of plywood zipped ties to the frame, the padding was outdoor with a faux fur throw over it. With the TV being mounted so high it was hard to watch TV at night. The kitchen was beautiful! Everything you would need. I would say if your a larger person the chairs at the dinning room table are very flimsy. The bathrooms are great! The fixtures are very nice. The master bedroom had cable and electrical spots for a TV on the wall but nothing there. My low rating was on cleaning. We were unsure if we were the first renters for 2025. There were lots of cobwebs in the corners of each room. In the master bedroom we went through each drawer to make sure we had everything before we left. However, in one of the night stands has a previous persons travel shampoo and hair things.
We booked this property as a home base for visiting Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons and were very pleased with the location and accommodations. Positives: The cabin is newer and all items are in good working order. The finishes are of a high quality and the kitchen, laundry and baths were well stocked. The open floor concept is great for small family gatherings and the kitchen is large. The property is located in a developing subdivision with large lots and while we visited the surrounding meadow was in full Spring time bloom. From the porch we observed osprey, bald eagle, sandhill cranes, pelicans (from the nearby lake), heron, hummingbirds, mountain blue birds, gold finches, green tanagers and a couple of owls at night. The lot is a mini bird sanctuary and offers beautiful views of the surrounding Idaho countryside. Neutral: The property is approximately 20 miles west of the West Yellowstone park entrance. If you have not visited Yellowstone, touring the park encompasses a lot of driving and an additional 40 miles a day round trip can be a negative for some, but we like being removed from the city and enjoyed the countryside. The property is located adjacent to a working cattle ranch and an active ATV / snowmobile park. The cows graze near the property all day and only a few times did we smell them when the wind was just right, but it is part of the experience and provide some good family jokes. Also, there is a cattle gate to open and close each time you venture out, but minor step in good weather. The ATV’s are present and active but were not annoying. During our visit, the ATV activity was notably less in the mornings and evenings plus the cabin is well insulated to exterior noise. Small negative or areas for improvement: The second bedroom is listed as I believe a queen, but I think it was a full mattress or a small queen. We had two teenagers and one landed up sleeping on the couch. A larger mattress in the second bedroom would improve the cabin. Also a few items were missed by the cleaning staff…interior of fridge, master bath soaking tub and hair in the hallways, but minor things in the overall stay. We enjoyed the cabin and would recommend it.
The house was beautiful, clean and fully stocked with any items we needed, except for hair dryer. The only down fall is it is further from Yellowstone than anticipated. But there was also things to do in Island Park. We enjoyed the Mesa falls and the Big Springs area.
We had a wonderful stay and the location was very near everything we wanted to do! Fishing at Red Rock was great and the trip hike to Hidden Lake as well as Goose Lake were worth it!
