Three quick things: 1. The listing is about 15 minutes outside of Montrose, 2. The hosts live in a house connected to the cottage but are super nice and will respect your privacy, and 3. The light switch for the living room is behind the TV. Now go book this place! It is amazing, super clean, and roomy but cozy at the same time. If there is something you need, it’s there, you just haven’t seen it yet. Really. I’ve never left a hotel and felt sad that I was leaving but I was sad to leave here. I really hope to go back someday.
The house and property were perfect. Everything you need is already there. They even gave us some amazing banana bread. Ill be going back next year for sure
We had a wonderful time at the quiet lake house retreat. Kevin and Tami were awesome host. They messaged detailed instructions on how to get to the place and it was pitch black out but easy to find. We had no real plans only to relax but found brochures that were left for us and went to a great shooting range not to far and extended our stay to hit a awesome hiking trail that we found on another brochure. Definitely recommend. We will be back this summer since the lake behind the house was frozen but looks like a lot of fun. Thanks again to Kevin and Tami
The view is gorgeous, the space was wonderful for the two of us. Kevin and his wife are great hosts and guided us to any questions we had. Thank you so much for everything!
The house had everything we needed and was very cozy with a lovely view of the lake. Unfortunately, our stay was short and the weather turned rainy, but everything you need to play on the water was available. I loved the decor in the home, and it brought back memories of trinkets my family owned. The owner was very nice and quick to respond when we had questions.
Enjoyed my brief stay on the lake. The house has everything you need inside and out. I really enjoyed fishing from a kayak in the private lake early in the morning before I checked out. The owners, Kevin & Tami plus the neighbors couldn't have been nicer. It certainly felt secluded, but you are only 20 minutes from downtown Montrose. Would definitely stay here again.

The owners were very personable, the house had a very comfortable rustic nature about it, and it felt like being at home since they provided bottled water, coffee, and every form of convenience one needs when traveling including shower soap & shampoo though we brought our own. From the kitchen, living room, & 4-seasons room there is a view of the beautiful lake, & outdoor seating if one chooses to use them.
We were looking for a place to rest that was beautiful and quiet and this definitely fit what we were looking for. Even with rainy weather we loved the views, the cozy fireplace, and fit in a beautiful hike at the Salt Springs just down the road.
Our stay was peaceful; the house was comfortable. We loved the views of the lake and mountains. My husband also caught a record number of fish (he does catch-and-releasea). The quiet comfort of the home made our vacation restorative in no small part to the great hosts. The house is roomier than the pictures indicate, and the kitchen is well stocked with a variety of housewares. Highly recommended.
Awesome place, hosts are super kind. The location was beautiful, the water was great, had a great time on the kayaks. Wished we could stay more. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful place in nature to relax for a while.
Kevin and Tammy were very friendly…accessible but not in our space. A friend and I stayed for the weekend to just chill out and that is exactly what we did. A nice, safe place to walk. We will return each year to enjoy the peace and serenity of the lake.
Took my boys for the weekend to do some fishing and swimming. What a wonderful place. So quiet and peaceful with good fishing. Kids had a blast fishing and swimming and kayaking. Hosts were wonderful. Very friendly and so nice.
This was our 3rd trip here, and even with some rainy days, as usual, it did not disappoint! Love the nostalgic rustic feel of the inside, and the seclusion of being so close to the beauty of the lake. The fireplace was a welcomed addition to any rainy evening. The hosts are beyond personable and welcoming. Just one more added bonus. Wonderfully appointed with lots of beach towels and blankets and anything you might need in the kitchen as well! Truly a home away from home! We’ll certainly be back!
The owners were great. Respected our privacy, answered any and all of our questions or needs. Property is beautiful, great fishing in the lake. Quiet surroundings, and other things to explore with a short drive. Just a really great experience!
This place is a fantastic place for a retreat. It is very remote. Private lake access, kayaks and boats for fishing or just for fun. The building itself was very cozy with a sunroom and the owners do live on one side with a connecting door but they are delightful and give you plenty of space. Highly recommend

I am retired and have taken on the new duties of Innkeeper. Tami is a licensed massage therapist, and we are both avid hikers and outdoors people. We enjoy meeting new people and we are happy is you choose to stay with us. We keep the house comfortable and clean, and keep in mind that this is a lake house with most activities taking place outdoors. However if you get rained on, we have lot's to keep you entertained inside as well.
