Went ahead and refunded the guest. Our unit was in disarray because of some unruly guests had a party and checked out 3 hours prior to the next guest check-in.

Great location, bad experience

I have used VRBO/Home Away for years and have never had an experience that warranted a bad review. This one did. I am local to Atlanta, but needed to be close to the center of the city for an early morning appointment. I thought this apartment looked interesting and well positioned. I received the check-in information mid-week as is typical for rentals. When I arrived that evening, I realized there was no unit number for the building. I started calling the owner. Twelve calls later, he finally called me back. I told him where I was, and he said that I was at the wrong address. I said, that is the address on the listing and on the check in email you sent. He said, "No, that's the wrong address. No one has ever had that problem before." I screenshotted him the listing and the email to prove that it had the wrong information. He texted me the correct information, and I finally got to the correct location and got in. The apartment was decorated in the interesting fashion that caught my eye from the VRBO listing, but the unit was in dire need of a deep cleaning. It is generous to say that it was "cleanish." Used bars of soap in the bathrooms, hairs on the floors, the carpets had confetti and beads, stains. I wore shoes the whole time because they looked so gross. The walls were so dingy and stained. The whole place was banged up and in need of rehab. The location was very convenient. If the unit were given a facelift and the owner was more attentive to the details of his transaction, I would have given the unit a five-star rating.

The booker disclosed that he had more guest with him than we allow . So we told him in advance that we can not accommodate the amount of people who wanted in our condo. We sent an immediate refund. Working on getting his review removed from our listing !

The loft was very clean and had a very cool layout. The location was amazing with shops, restaurants, and fun things nearby, it was perfect for a quick getaway.

Great location. Very nice apartment. Only issue was being told it got double booked, and I may have to make other accommodations. That’s not news you want to get, especially on the day you’re suppose to arrive. Good experience other that that.
