About this property
Waterfront Beach House in Broadkill Beach - Secluded Retreat!
Vacation in peace and quiet on a beach so empty it's as if it were your own. If you love nature and the feel of being away from it all, Broadkill Beach is the right place for you. Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge runs all along the small unincorporated community of Broadkill. However, if you need them, a grocery store, several restaurants, Dogfish Head Brewery (free tours and tastings), the Milton Library (there's a park behind it, right on the Broadkill River, with new playground equipment) and the restored 105+-year-old Milton Theater (featuring live theater, musical and comedy acts and movies), Puttin' on the Ritz beauty salon, and McDonald's, are all located in the quaint historic town of Milton and only a 15 minute drive away. Within 20 to 30 minutes (not including traffic, which can be rough in summer - which is why we like Milton!) there are plenty more restaurants, outlet shopping, a movie theater, Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk with rides for kids of all ages, arcades, fries, candy, popcorn, and a vibrant night life, Lewes Beach, and Cape Henlopen State park. Our two bedroom, one and a half bath home is recently remodeled and upgraded. It is directly bayfront, just steps down the wooden path (so you don't get those sand burrs in your feet) and over the dune to the beach! Cute, cozy bungalow with all the comforts of home and necessary appliances, too. Two bedrooms - one queen bed and one twin bunk bed. There is also a queen air mattress for extra sleeping space, since we no longer have a sleeper sofa. Features a large wraparound deck and a ground level outdoor shower. No need to bring your own towels (bath or beach), sheets, blankets or pillowcases - we supply those! There are binoculars and a telescope for watching dolphins, planets, birds, ships on the bay and more. The house is on pilings, so main living area is up one flight of stairs. Part of the lower level has been enclosed and finished and includes two rooms, accessible from the outside, one with laundry facilities and a half bath, the other is currently used for storage of many of the fun extras like beach chairs, sand toys, fishing poles, etc. Easy check in, no worries here. Host is available 24/7 by email or cell phone, although we would prefer you reserve the 2 AM phone calls for emergencies only, please : ) Let us know before you arrive if you have any special requests and we will do our best to accommodate.

Our family really enjoyed our stay in this cute little home. It was so close to the beach and it wasn't overcrowded. Everything was clean and the kitchen was stocked well for cooking.
The house was perfect for us and we loved the location. We stayed for a long weekend with our 1 year old baby. It was cozy and comfortable and so nice to have the beach gear to use! There is a high chair and lots of toys- our baby was very entertained! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Would love to stay here again. Thank you!
Everything went well. Perfect location. Beach supplies were a real plus. Kitchen and bedroom supplies were more than adequate. Only minor request would be for warmer, less obtrusively bright lights in the dining area fixture.

Hi Stephanie,
We strive to provide a 5 star experience for our guests. Could you let us know what we can do to improve?
Thanks,
Linda
This was our third year in a row staying at this beach house. We always love it and so does our son! Broadkill Beach is great if you are looking for a quiet beach, and it's an easy drive to go do other things. Thanks for another great stay!
We truly enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is very comfortable and well maintained. In less than two minutes you are on the beach. This past week we only saw a few other people on the beach. What a treat! It’s an easy drive into Lewes with great little shops and restaurants.
Such a perfect getaway! Very relaxing and peaceful. Owners were helpful and communicative and I would totally book again. The only downside might be limited sleeping accommodations if you have a larger family but you could bring a cot or air mattress. So much to do nearby with Henlopen and Rehobeth and Lewes that we had endless fun. Such a gorgeous area.
We come every year for my son’s spring break and always have a wonderful time. The house is clean, the host is kind and responsive, and the setting is lovely.

We enjoyed staying here. It was nice that there were plenty of beach items to use that we didn’t have to pack ourselves. Loved staying on the water and enjoyed using the kayaks.
This was the best VRBO I have stayed at. Linda was so great to deal with and was always available to answer any of our concerns. The house was the perfect location with an amazing deck to enjoy the view of the ocean. It was stocked with everything you could possibly need and more. Fires on the beach just made the whole trip complete. Would highly recommend this beautiful beach house.
We fell in love with our stay in Broadkill Beach. The home welcomed us with warmth and charm—thoughtfully prepared with everything we needed for a perfect escape. The space radiated a peaceful energy that stayed with us long after we left. Our hosts were kind, attentive, and gracious, adding to the comfort of it all.A beautiful place, a beautiful feeling. Thank you, truly.
House was very clean! Even though weather wasn’t great we were able to get out on beach. Very peaceful!

About the host
Hosted by Lance & Linda Mueller
We moved our growing family to Delaware from North Jersey around 30 years ago to get away from the "Rat Race". We bought 11 acres in Milton and built a house and raised our kids in this quiet country setting. Sussex County, however, has grown and gotten busier and louder. So we bought a house in Broadkill for even more solitude. We love "Slower, Lower" Delaware, and in our future retirement, hope to enjoy our second home in an even slower paced life. We believe that being at the beach, especially one as quiet and uncrowded as Broadkill Beach, does the soul good. While we are still busy running our business and trying to become empty nesters, we want to share our beach home with vacationers and be great hosts to our renters.
