Newly renovated 4BR Primehook beachfront house with amazing front porch!

This is a large, beachfront house in a private beach community near the Primehook National Wildlife Refuge. Walk ten seconds out the front door and be on the beach at anytime (sleep there if you like)!

You can sunbathe, swim, fish, and kayak right in front of the house.

The house has a huge, fully enclosed porch, air conditioned, with a couch - watch and listen to the waves 24/7!

The house has four bedrooms and an "extra room" in the following configuration:
Queen - 2nd Fl
Full - 2nd Fl
2 Queens - 1st Fl
Twin bunkbed - 1st Fl (extra room)

15 minutes to Lewes; 25 minutes to Rehoboth and Dewey beaches if you want shopping, movies, restaurants, jet ski, bike rentals, etc.

Amenities: Front Porch; Side Deck; Central AC; Heat; Outdoor Shower; Outdoor Foreman Grill; WiFi; Cable; CD and Tape Player; Multiple TVs; and 3 Car Parking.
-Dogs Considered. Contact Owner. No pets without approval!
-No Smoking in House.
-Renters must bring their own linens (sheets and towels) — but comforters, pillows, kitchen and bathroom hand towels, and other “staples” available upon arrival.
-There are no laundry machines available with this rental.

Lovely house with a view from the glasses and screened in porch. Sunrise views. Good for extended families as lower level is very separate. The stairs are narrow though and could use a light fixture.Very clean and well maintained.

Everything and more

After spending three weeks enjoying all this property has to offer - I wanted to stay forever. The view is spectacular, morning sunrise everyday in the comfort of the sunroom sipping coffee - who could ask for more? The kitchen has everything you need for any meal prep, and many items you never knew you needed, but are available for use. Gorgeous large kitchen, electric stove and huge refrigerator with ice maker. Beds were so comfortable and plenty of room to store clothing. Large home with space to spread out for large groups. Owner was very easy to work with, and very attentive. A note to fellow renters - PLEASE follow instructions on how to clean up after yourself upon leaving. This is not the first rental I have found where the previous renters have put dirty dishes back into the cupboards and have not cleaned the appliances they have used during their stay. I DO NOT blame the owners or their cleaning crew - it’s US, the renters that need to treat any rental like it was their own. Leave it clean folks! Thanks.

Great waterfront beach property

Right on the beach with a fantastic porch facing the Delaware Bay this property again gave us a relaxing two weeks. Clean, well maintained with a recently beautifully renovated kitchen and bathroom it’s without a doubt one of the best beachfront rentals we’ve ever experienced.

Prime Hook Beach Stay

Enjoyed a week at a spacious , well equipped and comfortable home right on the beach, great for family. Love the updated kitchen and bathroom. When it got hot we enjoyed the beach facing porch playing games and reading with a great view. 2 nights of smores made us all happy.

Serene beach 🏖 experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for a week with the family. The area is so quiet and absolutely beautiful. Great place to relax and enjoy quality family time. The house is very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect. There are so many options within 30 minutes. Shopping beaches restaurants fishing mini golf ice cream etc 💜 the host was amazing provided all information we would need. Highly recommend this beautiful slice of heaven

We loved our vacation!

The house is unique, comfortable and beautiful. The owner is so helpful. The grocery store and restaurants are close. We loved the spectacular sunrises and the spirit-calming water, and we lived on the awesome porch. We hated to leave, but we plan to be back!

Great beach get away!

We love being right on the beach. The kids lived in the water, we got out kayaking, did successful surf fishing and had 2 smores campfires. Enjoyed biking out at Henlopin State park and in the wildlife refuge just up the street. Make sure to bring field glasses as there are many types of birds. The Short property is well equipped and has a porch that is excellent. Hope to make it 3 years in tow next year!

Peaceful retreat

Fantastic week at this Primehook beach home. My husband and I came with our 2 and 5 year old and our dog. This was the perfect beach for their age because they were fascinated by the nature (there were a few horseshoe crab shells but not too many) and loved the calm shallow water. Beach was quiet and peaceful. It is definitely off the beaten path, but Food Lion in Milton is only about 15 minutes away. We also went into Lewes for dinner a few nights and did a water park/mini golf, plus the boardwalk in Rehoboth (about 35-40 minutes away). We never did get over to the Broadkill beach store, but you can reserve weekend doughnuts and sticky buns on Tuesdays. If you want to rent kayaks to have at the house, Quest Kayaks will only do a weekly rental. For daily or hourly rentals, you can go to their Lewes locations. Only ask for the house would be a towel hook or two on the excellent outdoor shower. We would love to stay again!

You cannot beat this location if you are looking for a peaceful retreat. The porch view is amazing!!! You just walk out the back door and you are on the beach with no crowds and plenty of wildlife. Although the house is a bit of 70's time machine it is super cozy and very clean. The kitchen has everything you need. All the beds seemed brand new and were very comfortable. All the furniture is also very comfortable. The basement seemed recently renovated and there were new smart TV's in the living room and basement. The layout provides upstairs and downstairs "zones" that give people plenty of space to spread out. The owner was super responsive. Definitely a place I would return to.

Third time and will keep coming back

We just love Primehook and this house. No busy boardwalks but you can drive to Rehoboth in 30 Minutes. Love the quiet, nature, fires on beach and dog friendly atmosphere. House is spacious , comfortable and makes you feel like you are visiting an old friend. My favorite spot in the sun room at the end of the day reading a book with a glass of wine. Priceless.

Great property, super beach access, large fun enclosed porch. 4 big bdrms. Well equipped kitchen with alot of beach necessities in the shed. Kayaked with the dolphins 60 yds off the beach!

I am a retired grandma who spent many wonderful Summers at this house with my family. Sadly, our family has moved out of the area, and we don't get to use the house as much we should. So, now we have decided to share this wonderful property with others!

Why they chose this property

It's a special place, especially the 25 foot wide, year-round, front porch (seats 12+), which overlooks the beach and the water. You can open all 16 windows and feel the breeze and listen to the waves, or you can close them and heat or air condition the porch, as needed.

What makes this property unique

Primehook Beach is a barrier island that is on the other side of a federally protected wildlife refuge. With only about 200 houses in the island, there is very little car traffic, which makes it a wonderful place for children to play, or adults to walk, run and ride bike. You can also bring your sailboat or kayak and go right in the water front the house. There is also wonderful birding...
