About this property

A stunning, modern Lodge with rustic charm at June Farms!

The Lodge at June Farms is a stunning, rustic, open-floor-plan retreat. The screened-in front porch looks down onto our beautiful horse pasture. This main cabin is our most romantic cabin on the property. Our gigantic rain shower in the bathroom has an 8'x5' wall mirror and a French door that opens out to the forest. If you are a cook, this cabin is a chef's dream.

If this cabin is booked, take a look at the 3BR Farmhouse, you'll LOVE IT. It has a hot tub in the winter and pool in the summer!

You will have your own Concierge to help you with all of. your reservation questions. However, 0ur interaction with all of our farm guests at check in is limited. We try to make our check in details as specific as possible so that you don't need our assistance and can check in on your own. June Farms is a working farm and does not have a "front desk", so if you have any questions regarding your check in procedure, please reach out to us prior to arrival.

While you are visiting the farm, there are farm hands who can answer your questions regarding our working farm.

When you stay at June Farms, the farm is always open for you to walk around and visit with our happy farm animals.

The "neighborhood" is what we call "farm country". However, we are just 10 minutes away from Albany and Troy, and about 45 minutes from Saratoga and Schenectady. There are many amazing restaurants very close by, and excellent shopping. When you book, you will receive a link to our blog giving you many suggestions for fun things to do off the farm.

You will be able to walk/golfcart around the farm, meet all of our animals, and you will not need a reservation at The Pony Barn when it is open!

Because of the popularity of June Farms, we can not guarantee that the Pony Barn Bar & Restaurant will be open/available during your stay. Private parties and events often get booked last minute. We promise you that the farm itself, and the animals and serenity, are the true appeal of the property. You will not be disappointed even if the Pony Barn is not open. We have an extensive list of bars and restaurants locally that you will love!

One thing to note, The Lodge is 300 feet up the hill and through the woods from The Pony Barn.

If you are looking to enjoy the restaurant/bar, you are certainly welcome to join in on the fun at the bar, no reservation needed for cabin guests.

To be certain the Pony Barn is open during your visit, or to book for one night, please check our IG page.

UPDATE: The Lodge now has air conditioning!

There is a ladder in The Lodge that may not safe for younger children.

One of the great things about June Farms is its proximity to the Albany Amtrak train station. It is a very simple, and short Uber ride (10 minutes) should you decide to take the train. Otherwise, we would suggest renting a car so that you can drive to the nearby grocery stores and restaurants. Around the farm, you can walk or rent a golf cart during your trip.

Our apologies, but absolutely no pets in the lodge.

The owner of the farm is a local restaurateur, and can give excellent recommendations for dining out and local experiences.

*The 2nd King Bed is up in the loft and requires climbing a ladder.

Also, June Farms is a short Uber / Lyft ride from the Albany Amtrak Train Station, and is only 10 minutes from downtown Albany & Troy.

About the host

Hosted by Matthew Baumgartner

Host profile image
June Farms was founded by New York bar owner & restaurateur, Matthew Baumgartner. After spending years in hospitality, living between the Capital Region and New York City, and undertaking many entrepreneurial endeavors, Matt decided he wanted to get back to basics. So he bought some acreage in the country on which he could build a house and raise animals and crops. But he quickly realized that his friends and neighbors had an enormous interest in coming to see the land, meet all the animals, and have a few beers while they were at it.

So, in 2017, Matt and the staff opened a pop-up bar & restaurant on the farm . It was so popular that he decided to completely change course from the original plan and focus on farm visits and food & beverages service.

Since then, Matt has turned June Farms into a full-service hospitality brand and gentleman’s farm.
