About this property
Spectacular views of the Presidio, USD & fireworks
This is a recently constructed unit (2014) built over a garage in a very central neighborhood of San Diego and is minutes away from most of San Diego's major attraction. A highlight is the roof top deck used for brunches and fireworks views
The home is part of three units on the property. The previous garage was removed and rebuilt with unit on the top. The other two units are also rented out to Airbnb guests.
The space is made up of a flexible floor plan that can see the family room turned into a separate bedroom via an opaque sliding glass door.
What makes this property unique is it's recent construction and roof top deck with impressive views of The Presidio of San Diego - a historic fort established in 1769 by Gaspar de Portola, leader of the first European land exploration of Alta California. It was the first permanent European settlement on the Pacific Coast of the United States.
During summers, the view of the Sea World fireworks show is unbeatable!
The space is made up of two bedrooms (one with a king sized bed and the other with a queen sized bed) and a third room that acts as both a family / TV room but can double as a bedroom. the couch is a sleeper can substitute for a full sized bed.
Guess access is controlled by an electronic lock that uses a pin number that is provided to the guess upon arrival. Guests will have access to the roof top deck and backyard bbq'ing area.
The host can be an interactive as the guests desire. Upon arrival, the if the host is available he generally will try to meet the guests to welcome them. From time to time he is unable to meet them and when this occurs the guests are free to enter the house immediately up on arrival.
The little known name of this small neighborhood just south of the University of San Diego is called Silver Terrace. It is a very centrally located one just minutes from numerous highly popular destinations such as: Sea World, Mission Bay Park, Mission Beach, Old Town, Downtown, Fashion Valley Mall and La Jolla. Within a 10 minute walk you'll be within range of a trolley stop, multiple coffee shops, brewery tasting room, numerous restaurants, and a YMCA.
Morena Vista Trolley stop is located within a 5-minute walk from the house. From there, it's possible to go to Little Italy, the Gaslamp District, Fashion Valley, Qualcomm Stadium, and even further east out to SDSU.
For longer term stays that require the use of laundry services, the host will provide the washer and dryer free of charge.

About the host
Hosted by James Morrison

I love to travel, and when I first started hosting as a young, single professional in my early 30s, it was a great way to subsidize that passion. Now, I'm a little older, have a family of my own, and a few gray hairs to boot. My traveling habit has unfortunately been reduced as time commitments pile up. So now, this service helps me provide for my family while still allowing me to meet new people from other parts of the world.
As a host, I like to give my guests their space but can be available at a moment's notice (I live 5 minutes away).
I look forward to continuing my vacation rentals to meet new people and share our experiences.

Why they chose this property
I purchased this property because I was familiar with the neighborhood and it's central location.
Since I've purchase the property I've added more units to the parcel so that I could live in one of the units and rent the other one out.

What makes this property unique
I would say the main benefit to this house is it's proximity to so many wonderful attractions San Diego has to provide. One could argue that it is located in the heart of San Diego.
Additionally, it's near the trolley line (5 minute walk) and the neighbors are super friendly.
