About this property

Historic city center craftsman: remodeled bathroom, patio, garden, full kitchen

Experience boutique comfort in a beautifully restored 1915 Craftsman, centrally located near downtown, Petco Park, Balboa Park, Gaslamp, Coronado, and San Diego’s hip neighborhoods including North Park and Hillcrest. Enjoy a full updated kitchen with loads of amenities, modern bath with a deep tub, original built-ins, and warm, artful décor. Relax on the welcoming front patio or unwind under the pergola, surrounded by a lush green garden. With two inviting bedrooms, this home is perfect for couples, friends, or small families.

Welcome to this charming 1915 Craftsman, a home filled with history, creativity, and a deep sense of care. This was our mother’s house, and much of the artwork, décor, and color throughout the space reflects her original vision. We’ve preserved what made it special while updating the essentials for comfort and ease.

We welcome guests from all over the world, and we’ve shaped the home to feel warm, personal, and inviting—whether you're here for work, exploration, or rest.

The Bathroom

A spacious, newly remodeled bath with a deep soaking tub, rainfall-style shower, and a tucked-away toilet nook. Plenty of counter space and a large mirror make getting ready effortless.

The Kitchen

A fully equipped, modern kitchen featuring:
• Extensive dishware & eclectic glassware
• Coffee maker, French press, kettle, blender
• Ample cookware, sharp knives, spices, oils, and essentials
Everything you need to cook a real meal—or several.

Bedrooms

Two cozy bedrooms with comfortable beds (one queen, one full), plus closets and dressers for settling in. An optional futon in the living room can sleep one additional guest.

Living and Dining

A light-filled living room with ample sofa seating, handcrafted décor, and original built-ins. The dining area comfortably seats 4–5 for shared meals or remote work.

Outdoor Spaces

A street-facing patio perfect for morning coffee with comfortable furniture, plus a shaded pergola seating area at the front of the property for relaxing in the evenings. The garden features mature fruit trees, flowers, and a variety of lush greenery.

The Neighborhood

Located in one of San Diego’s most vibrant historic urban neighborhoods—where I’ve lived since 2008—it offers unbeatable access to the city’s best areas: Downtown, Gaslamp, Balboa Park, North Park, South Park, Hillcrest, Bankers Hill, Barrio Logan, Coronado, Petco Park, and the Convention Center. You're also just 20 minutes from the border.

This home is a comfortable, soulful base for exploring San Diego like a local.

Why You’ll Love It Here

This cute craftsman cottage is super sweet, comfortable, and accommodating and had everything we needed for a weeks stay. Great updated kitchen and bath, cozy bedrooms and living area. We loved all of the thoughtful details and unique pieces of art and furniture. The location is great and our dog loved the multi-use field a block away - perfect place for pre-bed zoomies. Easy to get just about anywhere you want to go in San Diego.

This was one of my all time favorite Vrbo stays. The location was perfect as we had a rental car and were taking daily excursions to La Jolla, Balboa Park, Little Italy, Old Town San Diego and Sunset Cliffs. Everything convenient. Great tacos and bakeries in walking distance. The place was very clean, with cool arty decor, character and updated bath and kitchen. Our favorite part was hanging out on the lovely front porch and garden. Host was available to answer questions and left some food and beverage treats. Five stars!
