located great, appartment poor

We hoped to have a nice place to stay in Biarritz for 4 weeks to learn french and go surfing in the afternoon. Unfortunately the appartment was not homy at all. It is great located a 2 min walk from the Grand Plage with a garage. But the appartment itself did not meet our expectations at all. The furniture is old and worn out, The kitchen stank and we did not want to cook in it just once, since it was so dirty. The appartment definately needs a refurnishment and was not worth the money we spent.

Plus and minus

Communication with the manager was difficult and not timely both in promptness, language and sharing of information a traveler needs. The flat had not been cleaned properly with sand and cigarette butts on the balcony, dirty dishes, pealing paint and broken, and jammed door parially blocking kitchen entrance. Toiletries and toilet paper were not supplied and needed to be bought at the local store. The apartment was very quiet and in a very good location, within walking distance of restaurants, shops and beach.
