A delightful home in Houlgate

This was a delightfully comfortable stay in a classic family home. It honestly was so sweet and the backyard was a delight. We even got to cook out. The town of Houlgate is so charming and walkable. Make sure to visit the mid week market that is one block down from this home. Renting a bike from the local business gave more reach to our wanderings and the sunsets over the beach are amazing. This stay was a delight and Sophie was wonderful and so accommodating.

Bonjour, Merci beaucoup pour vos commentaires positifs ainsi que pour les pistes d'amélioration que vous avez partagées. Il est vrai que notre maison est ancienne, avec des cabinets de toilette d’époque dans chaque chambre mais nous veillons à ce qu'ils soient bien entretenus. La salle de bain, quant à elle, a été entièrement rénovée il y a moins d’un an et a donc récemment été modernisée. En ce qui concerne le ménage, une personne s’en occupe soigneusement avant chaque location. Cela dit, comme il s’agit d’une maison ancienne, il peut arriver que quelques toiles d’araignées ou un peu de poussière réapparaissent malgré notre vigilance. Nous espérons que vous avez tout de même passé un agréable séjour dans notre maison !

Agréable séjour dans cette maison de famille au charme surané. Joli jardin à l'abri du vent, véranda appréciée lorsqu'il fait un peu frais, avec un billard et un babyfoot pour des moments conviviaux. Excellente situation, près des commerces et à 300 m de la plage. A l'arrivée, on gare la voiture sur la place de la gare et tout se fait à pied.

Charmante alte Villa, perfekt für Familienurlaub

Das Haus ist ein charmanter Altbau, ausgestattet mit Stilmöbeln und Antiquitäten. Küche und Bäder könnten etwa aus den 1980er Jahren sein, alles funktioniert einwandfrei. In den Schränken befinden sich auch Bettzeug und persönliche Dinge der Eigentümer, aber wir hatten trotzdem genug Platz für unsere Sachen. Wir genossen sehr die reichliche Ausstattung, es ist alles denkbare vorhanden was man braucht oder worüber man sich freut (Küchengeräte, Spielzeug, Grill,Musikinstrumente...). Wohnbereich und Garten sind erfreulich groß, und man hat angenehmen Abstand bzw Sichtschutz zu Nachbarn und Passanten. Für diese Konstellation von Gebrauchszustand, Umfang der Ausstattung sowie viel Platz, ist der Preis ganz angemessen. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war sehr freundlich. Es gab kleine Holperer bei der Buchung und Abrechnung, aber wir konnten alles klären. Sie spricht gut englisch, ist absolut hilfsbereit und reagiert schnell. Wir hatten somit einen rundum gelungenen Familienurlaub in Houlgate, haben uns in der Villa sehr wohl gefühlt und wären am liebsten noch länger geblieben.

Le charme d'une belle villa familiale

Une villa au charme savoureux et désuet de la grande époque d'Houlgate, vivante de son histoire familiale...On s'y sent vraiment bien ! Les lieux permettent de trouver dans cette grande maison, l'espace et le cadre privilégié pour vivre des moments de partage et de bonheur avec ceux que l'on aime.

Comme chez soi, en famille

On ouvre la porte d'entrée et on est déjà chez soi, comme à la maison, dans cette maison de vacances dont une famille peut rêver, où on se retrouve pour fêter un anniversaire, des retrouvailles, ou de simples vacances. Les multiples pièces et lieux, dont la véranda, la petite maison ou le jardin, permettent à chacun de trouver son espace. Un très beau piano, un babyfoot et un billard apportent la touche en plus qui permettent d investir le lieu avec naturel. Située dans une rue calme, à 200m des commerces et à peine plus loin de la plage, c'est idéal pour ne pas se poser de questions et ressortir sans effort acheter le petit pot de crème fraiche normande pour cuire les moules ... On vous recommande ce lieu +++

Une demeure bourgeoise bien placée

De par son architecture et son mobilier, cette maison nous transporte dans le temps. Très agréable, très bien placée. A 2 pas des commerces et de la mer. Houlgate est vraiment une petite ville comme on les aime. A taille humaine, très bien fréquentée, on s'y sent en sécurité. Le quartier est tranquille et il n'y a aucun problème de stationnement. Nous avons passé une fin d'année très agréable avec des amis . Nous recommandons cette location très spacieuse et bien chauffée pour l'hiver.

A WONDERFUL HOUSE

My wife and I hosted a group of 8 for the 75th anniversary of D-Day. Lilli Cottage was magical. All the pictures are very accurate. The house is beautiful. It is only minutes on foot from restaurants, grocery stores and bakeries. The tourism office is literally a two minute walk from the house. The beach is also very close. The owner of the house was very communicative. The time difference caused an obvious delay but I had some questions regarding the events for D-Day and Sophie was very helpful. About the only thing I would make sure visitors know...especially if you have a good sized group...is the overall bathroom situation. One main bathroom on main level (sink and tub with shower) but the toilet is in an adjoining room and if you're 6 feet or taller, it will be a bit cramped. Every room had a toilet and sink in a small room. Toilet for #1 only though. The outside rooms which are separated from the house and accessible through the garden, seemed to be the best. We called it the Montgomery suite. While I wanted to mention the bathroom situation, it is a very minor thing. Overall the house, as I initially stated is wonderful and Sophie couldn't have been a better host. If you're staying anywhere near Houlgate, I would highly recommend Lilli Cottage.
