Where eagles soar, the sun sets low and the deer are friendly.
We have three quaint and cozy cabins that each comfortably sleep four. They will only be available May 1 - October 1. Each cabin has been renovated inside and out with new, knotty pine bathrooms and updated appliances. The newly installed heaters will readily take the chill off cool mornings as you awake to the soft rustling of leaves, waves lapping the shoreline and the call of loons. Big Saint Germain Lake is one of the premier fishing lakes in northern Wisconsin. You can find lake details on the Wisconsin DNR website. Although we do not have a private boat launch the public boat launch is just 1/5 mile to the west of us.

The cabin is very clean and the kitchen has all the utensils you need. We cook breakfast evry day without a problem. I slept on the large bed and it was very comfortable. One morning I had 2 very large bald eagles fly about 30 feet over our cabin. They have a nest right behind the cabin. Great location right on Big St Germain lake, almost right in between Eagle River and Minocqua.
The cabin was clean, has a dock for your boat, boat landing is a few hundred yards from the property. We caught fish every day. Overall, a nice place and a good price.
Stayed 4 nights with my daughters. Saw lots of deer and bald eagles. Cabin was very comfortable, clean and was well stocked. Found the location to be very convenient. We enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed our time at the cabin. The host greeted us upon arrival and showed us where to find things. He was very helpful. The bed was very comfortable. However, the furniture in the living room was very uncomfortable (1970's) We ended up bringing in our camp chairs for a comfortable place to sit other than at the kitchen table. If you plan on prepping food there you'll need some mixing bowls. They could use more water glasses. But, overall we had a great time. We don't have a boat, so we travelled to close by lakes that had easy shore fishing and came home with a nice supply of panfish for the freezer. Oh, and by the way, Larry, Go Vikings.
Great location to get to a bunch of different waters in the area. A little off the beaten path but it wasn’t too far off the main roads. Cabin was nice and they had a fish cleaning hut on the grounds which was convenient. Other than that, it was a great time away.
My husband I needed a brief break away from our daily routine and our stay at Eagle View Resort was the answer. We took advantage of the quiet woods around the town of St. Germaine, the reflective time sitting on the dock, and dining in the local supper clubs. Our cabin was comfy, but rustic. It reflected the era in which it was built. It very much reminded me of stays up north as a kid. Larry was a wonderful host. Everything went smoothly. I would consider staying again!
Basic but clean cabin on a big lake. You are near everything at this location- particularly St. Germain golf course, which is my favorite in the area. Plum Lake 9 hole course is also very close. There is also a very good mountain bike trail (Fern Ridge) less than 2 miles away. The best mountain bike trail (Winman) is a half hour away in Manitowish Waters. Larry, who lives on the property, was nice and helpful at check in. I would stay there again for the location.
We had a great time at Eagle View Resort. The cabin was clean and the lake access was perfect for what we needed. We could dock our fishing boat without a problem. The lake has a little beach area and a shallow sandy bottom. Larry let us borrow the hose to rinse off after swimming to prevent swimmers itch. We saw bald eagles and loons and the guys caught some walleye and pan fish. The kids also enjoyed tubing. It was a truly wonderful time!
Very clean and tidy and the owner was very welcoming, however the beds were uncomfortable and all the furniture was uncomfortable. The couch had a bad squeak when you sat on it, the kitchen table was very squeaky even if you touched it and the recliner was so uncomfortable, that was awful. Hearing the early loons, watching the eagles fis and the many deer on the premises really calmed the senses.
I stayed in cabin number 15 .It has ample parking space in front .Cabin was very clean , had everything we needed for cooking meals .The Owner Larry was very helpful .Nice private dock for our boat only few hundred feet from cabin.Definitely will come back again.
Old school Northwoods cabins at their best! Owner greeted us for check in and shared knowledge of area. Thank you Larry! Would definitely go back, just what we were looking for.

About the host
Hosted by Larry J. Chamberlain
I am originally from Appleton but spent the last several years living in Minneapolis and Seattle. After retiring from the Yamaha Corporation of America in 2017 I was fortunate to purchase this property on one of the most popular lakes in the area. As someone with ancestral connections to this area since 1900 it is now my pleasure to share some of my love for this area with others.
Why they chose this property
Chamberlain’s Eagle View Resort is nestled in a grove of oak trees on the north shore of Big Saint Germain Lake just 2/10 of a mile east of the public boat landing. This makes for easy travel for your boat to our 100’ dock in smooth waters teaming with bluegill, walleye and musky – the King of Fish! Our property is home to families of deer and is in the glide path of soaring eagles. We have remodeled the bathrooms in all the cabins and updated the plumbing to also include new fixtures and water heaters. All available cabins have been repainted, refurnished, repaired and appliances replaced.
