Enjoy the sunsets from this waterfront home, tucked away off North Main Street. Private setting and pet friendly (2 pet maximum). Water access for kayaks and canoes. Upstairs offers a separate living room and a TV, perfect for friends and family to spread out.

Pet friendly home. $75. (per pet) will be added to your reservation. THIS HOME DOES NOT PROVIDE LINENS OR TOWELS. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN OR CALL US TO RENT THEM.

Cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival will receive 100% of refund of all monies minus $ 39 Processing Fee and Any Credit Card Convenience Fees Paid.  If less then 30 days: the advanced rent is only refundable subject to the following: The property is re-rented for the same period. Re-rental of less than a full week will be refunded on a pro-rated basis. The Agent will retain a $39.00 processing charge and any convenience fees charged. *Deposits are not refunded for ANY reason (including bad weather).

Great Stay at Chincoteague

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Another lovely stay at Winder Station! Its a spacious and comfortable house that we stayed at before in 2020. And we always enjoy Chincoteague. Its time for some new furniture (the downstairs sofa especially) and a blender that works. Harbor Rentals could do a better job with replacing lightbulbs and making sure everything's cleaned fully.

Perfect Getaway

Winder Station is a beautiful home on the Chincoteague Channel. The setting is on the North end of the island, and has a very different vibe from the Main Street and Maddox areas. The home is comfortable, with stunning views of the sunset from the large back deck. The house is decorated mostly with antiques and collectibles, but is open, bright, and sunny with lots of windows and a second floor sitting room, master bedroom, and full bath. Downstairs, a large kitchen, dining, and living room open floor plan, full bath, and two bedrooms complete the picture-perfect digs. The entry has a hallway with washer and dryer, and a place to hang clothes to dry. I have no complaints, we spent four peaceful spring break days, and everyone was happy!

Quiet, peaceful location with easy access to restaurants and ocean.

Charming house with nice water views. Really poor lighting. Outdoor furniture really needs attention. 1 Adirondack chair was broken as was double rocker on deck. Only 1 operable chair on deck for house that accommodates 6 people is inadequate. I don’t personally want to move furniture from porch to deck while on vacation and then you have to make sure you move everything back upon vacating. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Kitchen is OK. If you really plan to do serious cooking, might want to bring a few of your go to pots, pans, good knives, etc. If you’re mostly dining out, kitchen is adequate. Overall a nice stay.

Great Sunsets, but. . .

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location is grand. Some water access for my kayak and we had some good clamming at the property. When we moved in, it was evident the cleaning crew were not the best and the previous guests were not concerned with leaving the stove, dishware utensils etc put away, and dirty. The coffee maker leaked all over the counter. I purchased a new one. Don't expect to have any decent cookware either. The decking needs to be replaced. Sliding door doesn't lock, used a piece of wood to lock it. We've stayed in much better places on the Island, in the same price range, but there are those sunsets. . .

The hardwood floors were great and made cleaning up daily a breeze. The beds were comfortable for everyone as well. Ourselves and grown children w/spouses all had an amazing time. Relaxed at the beach and had plenty of room to spread out. One deciding factor was the ability to bring our beloved pets. The walkway to the bay to launch kayaks however was a disappointment, it was over grown and impossible to utilize, not as pictured or described at all. Another issue was the ivy on the steps leading into the home, could not enter the home without it brushing your legs. The balcony was a favorite hangout, however nails had been up the flooring cutting feet by the door. Lastly and most importantly the OVEN DID NOT WORK. A man stopped over claiming he needed in to fix it without us being notified. He did look at a burner button. One burner did not work at all as well as the BAKE did not bake. 2 hrs at 400* would not bake cut up potatoes!! Found out hard way. As a family of 8 and no way to cook we had to eat out. That gets expensive. Over all very nice home, needs some improvements. Also walkway to kayak enterance needs cleared up or needs removed from listing as this was unacceptable, was a factor in choosing this rental and completely inaccessible.

Sweet roomy place by the bay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This place is so adorable! We loved our stay here and our time in Chincoteague. The house is very clean and roomy - we loved having the entire upstairs loft to ourselves with the kids downstairs. The kitchen was spacious and allowed us to cook with ease. The outdoor enclosed porch is super cute. It's slightly off the main road, and private tucked back by the bay. We watched the sunset every night! If you have a kayak, there is a tiny trail to follow to the bay and you can launch a kayak from there. Bike riding to shops or the beach or park is doable and easy. Our favorite spots are Ledo's Pizza, the taco truck, the farm market, the water park, and both Mr. Whippy and Island Creamery. There are adorable shops along Mattox and Main Sts. Suggestions for improvement: There were some clogged drains that need attention, and the outside of the house and landscape were in dire need of some love - the lawn hadn't been mowed and there were a lot of overgrown bushes and weeds that distracted from the beauty and charm of this otherwise sweet place. The sweet little sign that reads "Winder Station" needs a little paint. That said, we still loved it and would return.

Ideal layout for maximum porch enjoyment. Minimal carpet which was excellent for the dog. Expansive kitchen layout for meal prep. All in all, a quiet property away from the bustle of Maddox and downtown.Bring your own outdoor chairs; the current ones of the property should be replaced.

Do this and the house will be wonderful.

The furniture inside is over-kill with too much stuff packed into tight spaces, ironically the outside furniture is lacking and the house could have used more placed to sit on the deck. If the owners read these reviews please consider removing some of the living room furniture (both downstairs and upstairs) so that people can move more easily around the space.

Winder Station Mold Problem

There is mold growing on the wall behind the couch in the living room and perhaps elsewhere. You need ServPro or someone like that to come in and do mitigation, otherwise I could not recommend it to a friend and will not be using it until this is taken care of. Great location. Rooms are quiet. Quit street. High ceilings. Great kitchen.Also, some windows do not have screens, so could not get cross ventilation in house.Staff is very professional and friendly. I hope the owners will support taking care of the mold problem.
