Location is really pretty special. Walking out onto the beach is super convenient when you have kids and may need to make trips back up the house for different reasons, or if you did something else that day but still want to get your feet wet before the day was over. Hearing the surf in the evenings. Walking down to the pier was also fun. And we saw dolphins off the coast both days we spent on the beach. Rental was clean. Management was easy to get a hold of when we had trouble gaining access on arrival. 5 stars.

Great Stay

Property was clean and right out front is the boardwalk and the beach. Maurice was very responsive to our questions. Property had appliances to cook, clean, wash and dry clothes. Would recommend staying as the property was close proximity not only to the beach but also other San Diego attractions.

Just as advertised. This is a really exceptional property with an exceptional location. The bottom two units are easily adjoining and provide plenty of space. The boardwalk is a literal spectacle of entertainment.

Great House with Amazing location

Our stay at the King of the beach was great. The property manager was easy to communicate with. The property itself was great and accommodated our large group with kids very well. The locations was amazing! Being right on the beach makes the beach days so much easier and convenient with kids. For anyone staying the parking stalls are smaller and there is only 1 stall per unit. We had 2 units for 3 families with 3 cars so it was tough finding parking in the alley way for the extra car but it worked out in the end. We would recommend this property to anyone and hope to be back soon!

Nice but …

The property is in an amazing location right on the boardwalk. Maurice was very nice and attentive. We never got to use the patio because it was monopolized by another family in the unit. I was under the impression it was for the first floor units but didn’t know this until I questioned it when we arrived.

Great place to stay..,not luxurious but great location

This was a learning curve for us. First floor is sand level and the floor doesn’t ever get clean. It’s also a little noise during the nite from passerbys. But we had everything we needed and the sheets and towels and most beds were great! Needs updating so it can be kept clean more easily. Also had some things that were left outside stolen by a bicycle bandit. Loved the sound of the waves crashing and the water so close. We would get a 2nd floor unit next time. And this was two units we thought were connected but they weren’t, so that caused some issues for us. Unit 2 is most comfortable for 4-6 people, the sleeping in the front room didn’t work because it was so loud in both units. Not having air conditioning wasn’t that bad in October but I can’t imagine sleeping in those rooms in the summer. Thank you for what you provided! We learned what to look for!

80th birthday celebration

Perfect location in center Mission Beach, about 1 mile from the rollercoaster or Pacific Beach Pier. Mom turned 80 and we pushed her in her wheelchair on the boardwalk to dinner/drinks/exercise. We knew we were going to stick close to the beach so ubering from the airport worked well. Only 1 parking spot per unit and crowded parking, the less vehicles you bring, the better. The giant picture window looks onto the beach so mom could sit in the window and see the rest of us hanging out on the beach. I am assuming previous renter left their boogie boards, chairs and toys. These items were not listed on their inventory but they were there. I would absolutely rent this place again !! :)

Can’t beat the view

We LOVED the location of this place. ON the beach! The view of the ocean was incredible. We were there to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. We stayed in units 1 and 2. We had 12 adults and all slept comfortable, we could have had one more couple there too. Check in was super easy. A couple things that could have been improved- the units could use a good deep clean, we couldn’t find a broom or garbage bags in unit 2 and we were out of laundry soap. Luckily the other unit had them though! The ad mentioned a fire pit on the patio, but it wasn’t there. None of this would deter us from staying there again, we absolutely loved our stay and would love to to come back soon!

Mission Beach Ocean Front

Property was clean and well stocked with all the needed supplies. The Location was Amazing. Unit 2 seems to be more updated than Unit 1. Very easy to check in. Was wondering how the property slept 18 ppl with 3 bedrooms. The 3 futons per Unit is where the other ppl would sleep.

Mission beach

We loved the property! We had 17 people stay mostly kids and they all had places to sleep. The owner was very nice. We loved to BBQ and have a fire on the beach every night.

Incredible location

Best spot on the strand! We had a blast people watching from the couch. It was the perfect place to get away from L.A. for a few days. The units were stocked & super clean. The walls/ceilings are a bit thin so there was some excessive stomping around but the sound of the ocean more than made up for it. Maurice was a wonderful host. We would definitely stay there again!

Maurice Maio, a long time San Diego resident and well known successful businessman, started the San Diego Beach King Vacation Rental company in 2000. His first property was the Sleek Retreat purchased in 2000 which is the recipient of many awards including "House of the Year" and "HGTV House Hunter's On Vacation" series.

Mr. Maio took over the family plumbing, heating & air business at age 19 after his losing his father. Starting with 1 truck and no trades knowledge, the company grew to over 50 in less than 5 years and was modeled throughout the world thru the Maio Success System. Mr. Maio developed many innovated business practices and has hosted over 1200 seminars worldwide. He sold his companies to a wall street firm and began his vacation rental business.

Since it's inception, The San Diego Beach King has offered it's clients first class service at reasonable rental rates. Each property is carefully maintained and decorated with style. The Maio team runs smoothly and you'll see him smiling visiting the properties often. He loves Mission Beach, knows where to eat, where to rent, where to surf.
