The home was sparsley furnished. Could have used some additional comfortable furniture. Also didnt have extra blankets or hair dryer. Kitchen was oddly stocked.
It was a great place to stay for a visit of the sites near by. We didn't spend much time at the rental but it was perfect for what we needed. I will say neighbors have some very loud dogsbjt other than that it was nice.
The house had a great view and plenty of space, which we really appreciated. It’s a peaceful spot and has a lot of potential. However, the cleanliness could’ve been better, the stove had spider webs, and a few doors didn’t close properly. The back door also wouldn’t unlock, which was inconvenient. Overall, it was a decent stay, but a little extra upkeep would make a big difference.

The house was clean. Only one bathroom stocked. there was food left in the refrigerator. Some of the dishes were broken. The futon in bedroom four was not available. There was a couch that made into a bed in the public rooms. The front porch was great enjoyed watching the rain storm sitting on the porch.
Needed a 4 bedroom to accommodate my all-male family outing and this now then met our needs. Nicely appointed and the master bedroom was quite special! Loved it and will be back.

Nice and quiet and convienant to what we were doing. Backyard looked rough.
We have been booking this property twice a year for the last five years. It has always been excellent. We were very disappointed to see it has been taken off the website. I pray the new owners will continue to list the property.

The house could be great, but needs maintenance work (no hot water the last 24 hours of our stay) and lacks a few basic amenities like microwave and TV.

Fun but Different
As the previous reviews show, this property won't suit everyone. We expected to have 9 at the house, but in the midst of the airline meltdown of 2022, my son and his family sadly did not make it. It probably would have been crowded, especially since the advertised futon was actually not present (along with the welcoming bottle of wine and the coffee). But the house was comfortable enough for the 5 of us and for the other family members who visited the first evening we were there. The random opened and partially used food in the frig and elsewhere was disconcerting, though having a few spices was helpful. What was very amusing was that everywhere we looked there was something broken: yard lamps in front, weather stripping hanging under the door, a lamp missing a leg, a ceiling light that didn't turn on, broken cup handle, gas range that worked but didn't have a low setting, coffee maker with broken lid hinges, two closets with lots of broken chairs and at least one more broken lamp. But there were plenty of dishes, silverware, glasses, mugs, and Terri was always responsive and helpful, so it was a good stay on the whole.

Quiet Neighborhood
1. All but about two chairs in the house needs to be replaced.
2. Food left in the refrigerator. and cabinets.
3. Had to leave the trash exposed; both trash cans in the back yard were full.
4. Asked about a BBQ Grill; was told there is none, but there is a new one in the back yard.
5. Asked about a burn pit and was told there was none due to all the burn bans. There was a burn ban, but there was also a burn pit in the back yard.
6. No indication that there were dishes, pots, pans, etc, except for the picture on the web page, but there were lots of them (so we brought ours in vain).
7. Closet in the Master Bedroom was locked (and we needed it).
8. Light in the Master did not work.
9. Host phone number was not provided.
10. Step bannisters in front, full of splinters.
11. Probably nothing can be done, but the floors in the Master Bedroom and bathroom squeak and squawk to high heaven.
12. Back yard was unusable due to weeds and un-mowed grass.
We were very happy to find this property, as we had a larger group and there are not many options in Fort Davis. Beautiful house on edge of town and perfect for some star gazing as well.
Had a great stay with family and friends, the house was a great spot for our group, hope to come back in the spring time and will be booking here again if we get the chance

Disappointed
Your photos of your home certainly did not match what we saw. When we contacted you, you said that you would take care of the torn sheets, but nothing changed. Threadbare and torn sheets, questionable blanket/comforters, mattresses were extremely uncomfortable in the master, which is where my guests stayed. How embarrassing for me to see their discomfort. The other beds were just as uncomfortable. I used my own pillow and comforter because I didn’t even want to look at what was under that comforter in the back bedroom.
Despite hard water, your secondary bathroom was filthy.
Both toilets were dirty, blue stuff doesn’t clean toilets. The shower had hair surrounding the drain and on the floor of the shower.
Refrigerator with condiments was deplorable. The only positive was the stunning sun rise that we saw.
