Great house and property. It was the perfect size for a group getaway. The view was amazing. The property was large and well kept. The house was stocked with everything we needed. And the common areas were spacious to allow conversation and gathering. The spaces were clean and bright. The check in and check out process was great. And we were able to communicate with the host prior to the weekend when we had questions. Host was very responsive. Definitely would stay at this house again and would encourage others to check it out.
This was one of the most well equipped kitchens I have seen in a short term rental. From sharp knives to the Maritimes staple - the junk drawer, we wanted for nothing. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. The shawls and throws on the sofas were perfect for cuddling in while watching the ocean views.Carolyn was excellent in letting us know how to prepare for spring weather. One of the best hosts I have worked with across any platform.

Beautiful property, great accommodation for family stay, amazing host!
We did not spend a lot of time at the property, but it was clean, comfortable, well appointed and contained all of the conveniences needed. Would definitely stay there again.
We had a wonderful time in Malagash! Our host Carolyn was very helpful with any questions we had and the vacation home has everything you would want for a comfortable stay. The property is truly beautiful. We enjoyed watching the seals in the mornings and sunsets in the evenings.
Everything exceeded our expectations. From the cleanliness of the place, the stocking of the cupboards, the view, the animals that visited....we loved it all. We were truly able to reset and not have to worry about anything. It was so peaceful, nothing to hear except for the forest and ocean. This is what relaxing is all about. Will definitely stay again.
The house was well stocked!! It had everything a person could want! The communication with the host was excellent! A very nice place to stay. You could walk to the water and watch low tide and high tide! Just an overall top notch experience!
Once again we had a fantastic stay at this property. The kitchen is well stocked. There is lots of room for everyone. Sitting on the deck in the morning with a coffee listening to the waves and sometimes the seals is a great way to unwind. Going out in the evening and star gazing, we saw stars that we haven't seen in years due to the fact that there wasn't any "city lights' flooding the skys. We will be back again in the spring. Thanks Carolyn for providing such a lovely spot for us to enjoy.
This is our 5th time staying at this beautiful property. The kitchen is well stocked. The sunsets and sunrises were spectacular. It is a great place to come for a weekend retreat with family and friends. Already planning our ladies weekend for the spring.
This property and the property owner were fantastic!! Beautiful view, quiet area with lots of wildlife right outside the doors. We seen a buck, porcupines, deer, and even a seal! Check in and out were extremely simple and Carolyn was more than accommodating! Would DEFINITELY visit this property again in the future.
This is a lovely home with a well equipped kitchen, nice bedrooms, and a deck where you can sit for hours looking at the water, chatting, and listening to the breeze in the trees. Very close to the swimming/walking beach. The dining room and living room provide great venues for long conversations. We had a sibling reunion, and all three of us enjoyed the property.
What a perfect choice for our week in the Maritimes! Our hosts were wonderful. Communication was excellent. We loved the history of the house/property, and the welcome info/items were much appreciated. The layout of the house was perfect for our extended family of seven, and everything we could want or need was provided. We did a lot of exploring - mostly local, but also the Bay of Fundy and even a day in PEI.The large deck outside was perfect for quiet mornings looking out over the water as well as for a big family gathering for a delicious seafood boil followed by a soccer baseball game on the lawn.Thank you again, Carolyn and Peter, for sharing your home.
Amazing view - the beach was rocky but nice just needed water shoes. Loved having two full baths and one half. Lots of items are stocked in the house - everything was easy to find. Loved having a dishwasher. Saw some deer; porcupines and seals. We visited the brewery and the Jost winery. Everyone enjoyed their stay and we would definitely go back again.
The house and setting was perfect for our family/ friend vacation. Plenty of space for all to sleep. The view of the water from the house windows and deck were amazing! Kitchen was stocked with plenty of utensils and equipment. The pool table was a hit with the kids during the rainy days. The walk to the water front from the house was easy and enjoyable seeing the tidal changes. Carolyn was accommodating, friendly and helpful!

About the host
Hosted by Carolyn Goldring
I am the daughter of Peter and Val Mortenson who have owned the property since 1988. I got engaged on Blue Sea Beach. My parents now live close to me. As you can appreciate, this location isn’t the best for an older couple whom are no longer are able to drive. But they are very excited that new people can experience what they loved during the many years that they lived there.
Why they chose this property
A little bit of history. They originally saw the property when they were on their honeymoon in 1962. But as most newlyweds, they couldn’t even imagine at that time to purchase it. Fast forward 30 years later as they celebrated their anniversary and re-traced their honeymoon trip … surprise! It was for sale again. And this was the beginning of a beautiful journey. The property was originally a lobster cannery. The house that they lived in for almost 5 years was the bunk house for the lobster cannery workers. It has long since been torn down. The shop that still sits on the property was the cannery. My dad’s dream was to always to build his own home. And he did it with the help of many family and friends. Trust me … many of the nails and screws in this house I have put in!
What makes this property unique
So, embrace every moment you have here. Certainly, take time and go to the ocean, search for beach glass, watch for seals, tour the property and most important enjoy the solitude of this quiet special place whether it is with family or friends.
