This 3/2, 1510 sq ft home has something for everyone! Need a place to put your boat? The covered dock fits an 18 ft boat or put a larger boat on the outside of the dock. Need a place to fish? The covered dock or backyard is always open. Need access to Lake Okeechobee? Drive your boat to the Lake in less than 10 minutes. Need a refreshing swim? Jump into the in-ground, 14x28 pool. Need a place for the kids to play? Let them romp in the backyard. Need a place for cornhole or badminton? Lots of places to set up the game. Need a relaxing place to enjoy the outdoors without the bugs? Sit in the large, 14x30 screened-in patio overlooking the canal. Need food? Publix and Winn Dixie are less than 2 miles away. (Restaurants are all within 3-5 miles.) Need to shop? Walmart, Bells outlet, Goodwill, Marshalls, etc. are down the street. Need anything else? Just let us know.

Perfect lake get away place

Great home with easy access to the lake and great fishing. Some of the best ones we caught were right off the dock.

The place was wonderful! Very clean and our host brought us a bundle of groceries. Nice romantic setting, though would also be ideal for a family with kids as it was spacious. Comfortable bed. Overall 5 star experience!

Fishing getaway

This is our 3rd time staying at this property. The home is always clean and well equipped. Pool is well maintained . It is so nice to have after a long hot day of fishing. The boat dock is great to have for our boat. The grandkids love the fishing deck. Mrs. Barb is an excellent host. She is always easy to communicate with. She has a nice surprise delivered on day of check in. It is greatly appreciated. We will definitely be staying again. Great place to stay for fishing the canals and lake. Thanks again

Okachobee Lake Getaway

This property was very nice. Had a great pool and a dock to park our boats at. We fished and hung out at the dock. Took about 15 minutes to get to tge lake by boat. We were all very comfortable there and the offsite owner was very nice. We hoghly recommend this place for a fishing adventure!!!

Guys fishing trip

The house was very clean and well maintained. Plenty of space and the owner went out of her way to make sure we had plenty of poles to use to fish with when we wasn’t with our guide service. Definitely will be a repeat customer.

Fantastic Stay

We throughly enjoyed our stay in this house. It was convenient to restaurants, shopping and the boat ramp. It was probably the cleanest and well-stocked house we’ve ever rented. Barbara was so easy to work with and available to answer questions and help if needed. Much better than a hotel!! We will be back in December.

Winter vacation

Very nice area and quite, we had family for 4 days, young adults fished , rest of time just hubby and I relaxing, first year we took 2 weeks of for a FL vacation. This place was very relaxing, just rode motorcycles on back rides, perfect area, if you don’t want to be near the big busy areas in FL., if you like night life , this area is not for you! Very relaxing area

Barb was very easy to communicate with. She left us a welcome present and was so sweet. We enjoyed fishing off the dock and just relaxing. Very close to Walmart and bait shop. Thanks Barb!

Best VRBO stay ever

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The property was everything described and more. The owners thought of everything. The property was clean, maintained, very well supplied, and in a friendly community with access to anything you might decide you needed within 10 minutes. We really needed a getaway from life stress, and found it here. The owners could not have been more helpful or accommodating before and during our stay. Would recommend for adults or families 100%.

The home was great except, being a fisherman there wasn't a fish cleaning station on the dock. The pool was advertised as having a screen enclosure. Trip was shorter then expected.

Great place for three family with kids and dog. Plenty of sleeping, storage space. This is great vacation property - nearby Walmart; farmers market). We had our boat so we use the boat dock. Great view for canal with lots of birds - pelican, cranes .... Kitchen - coffee maker, lots of plates, bowls, utensil - not so much cups for coffee, tea. We visit - Everglades NP, Biscayne NP, Legoland, Jensen Beach, Jupiter Beach .... The worst for us was weather - we cant use pool - not heated- water was cold.

Spacious home

The owners are very responsive. Anything we needed they promptly responded and resolved. The 2 bedrooms are very large, one has bunl beds in it with another large pull out bed in living area. Lots of different areas to hang out with family. The pool was plenty big for our size family. Some pool toys available and we also bought some extras at the local dollar store. Everyone loved sitting and fishing off the covered dock. The owners left lots of snacks and goodies for the family which was super sweet. We would definitely stay again

Fishing Vacation

Barb, our host is awesome. When we arrived we were met by a delivery of groceries, fruit, snacks for the kids, water. That was a pleasant surprise. This is our second stay at Taylor Creek. We will definitely come back again. There have been some improvements made to the property since our first visit. There were 5 adults and 2 children. We had ample room for all. The home had everything we needed for our stay. The only thing we missed was the fish cleaning station that was on the dock for our first trip. My husband is a mechanical engineer working on equipment that goes into space, and he is also a church pastor. We run a small, Christian school, food and clothing pantry, thrift store, and benevolence program for people in the Glades communities. Our church is small, but we give out over 500 boxes of food every week in our small town of Pahokee, FL. I am the principal of our school and earned my bachelor's and master's degree in New Jersey. We both grew up at the shore - he is from CT and I am from NJ - and we love the water.

My husband and I have guardianship of three grandchildren, ages 17, 15, and 10, and we have seven grown children; one is a professor in technical theater at a local university, and one of our daughters is an elementary school teacher in Palm Beach County. Our blended family began 20 years ago with two boys and five girls.


In the past, we have rented other places along the eastern seaboard with our children and had wonderful times with them. We always had fun, and we are here to help you have fun in Okeechobee. We live 30 minutes away from the property and have a son who lives in Okeechobee; so, if there is ever an issue, we are right there to get it taken care of quickly.

Why they chose this property

We bought this home for our retirement (but not sure we will ever do so). Even so, our grandchildren enjoy the pool and the water - fishing and boating - as well as playing on their phone (ugh!). It is relaxing to get away from it all. And, since we are not able to use it on a regular basis, we thought we could share it with others who are in need of a peaceful place to relax as well as enjoy the scenery. It's a great place to write a book! The neighborhood is quiet (except for our grandchildren) but filled with friendly people. Lots of the neighbors are only down during season. We like it because we can get here in 30 minutes and not have to spend hours traveling with children who continually eat, need to go to the bathroom, and want to know, "Are we there yet?"

What makes this property unique

We both grew up on the water, so this is a place we can afford. We love the pool. We love fishing off the dock. We love the ambience of the water. It is even a nice place when it rains because we can go out to the screened porch, play games, and not even get wet! We love having the whole city of Okeechobee just three minutes away from the house yet not feeling like we are in the city. Of course, Okeechobee is not crowded like Miami, but for people who like to be outdoors, this is a great place to vacation. Rent a pontoon boat; take a ride on an airboat; have a captain take you out fishing; visit Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee about 45 minutes away; take a day trip to Orlando and enjoy all its amenities. Certain times of the year, you can watch a rodeo in person, wait for Santa Claus to come down the street, or visit the thrift stores and craft stores all over the area.
