The house was great and just like described in listing. The owners was great and very responsive! When in the area again, would definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed our short stay at the Lake house! We had plenty of room and activities for the kids to enjoy. We also really enjoyed the fish tacos provided by our host! They were scrumptious!
Owners are very nice and answered all questions in a timely manner. Property was just as described. Was wonderful for your couples week get away. The husbands loved the pier and caught plenty fish.
We had a very nice weekend here, the hosts Kelly and Claire were supper nice and accommodating, we even got some fresh yard eggs upon our arrival. The house is spacious and only a short walk to a very nice dock, great for swimming and lounging. Overall a wonderful weekend and even got to take my kids in the backyard to watch some cows and chickens !
This is a great house! Very spacious. It is across the street from the River but a very easy walk across to their empty lot and pier.
This home has everything you need for a fun, relaxing stay. Comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, great parking and spacious yard which is a great added bonus! We would definitely stay again!

House is big and spacious with lots of parking. Hosts are excellent and super nice. House was clean and had everything that we needed. Jet tub was a relaxing plus! Pier across the street was nice to swim and fish off of with a porch swing. It was just a relaxing home. And I do mean home. It's lived in and comfy and inviting.
We were very comfortable in this spacious lake house. The owners were extremely helpful and very nice throughout our stay and during our booking process. The view of the lake from the house was nice for the area. The boat dock was new and very nice to float off of, tie up a boat, or just enjoy the view. We were very pleased with the lake house and would stay here again. The pictures are very accurate that are shared of the house and area. If you have any question the owners will be quick to respond.
Claire was an excellent hostess and made sure our stay was enjoyable. The pictures are accurate, however there is a large new home being constructed directly across the house which partially obstructs the river view. We were mostly spending time with friends at another home down the river so this wasn’t a dealbreaker for us. The pier is very nice and was super convenient for the days we rented a pontoon boat. The view of the river and pier from the house is still accurate despite the construction. The back patio and property are very peaceful and relaxing. Front porch could use some improvements to facilitate outdoor visiting with a river view from the front. My husband and I brought 2 teens and 2 grandparents and the space was perfect.
Our stay at the David’s lake house was just what we needed. My 75 yo mom, my teen son, and I came to the area for a bucket list wish.My mom wanted to see Jimmy Swaggart at his church in BR, enjoy a crawfish boil and try fried gator! We were able to check them all off and so much more. Yes, the home is older and has its quirks, but there is a charm about it.The home was so much bigger than we expected and offers multiple spaces to lounge, eat, WFH, and entertain as well as find respite. The beds are comfortable, there is ample closet space, and plenty of extra blankets for people like me who are always cold! The drive to New Roads for groceries or to get a tire fixed (yep happens on vacation too) is within 20 minutes. There are plenty of amazing restaurants to choose from too.The drive to BR is about 35-40 minutes and easy as well.I WFH, so I was able to set up my office with amazing lake views! There is a small desk in 2 of the bedrooms and several tables. The wifi was more than sufficient for me to work, stream a movie, and to have several devices connected at the same time.My mom has trouble getting around because of a previous injury to her ankle, and the home was easy for her to walk around in. The slope to the dock presented a little more of a challenge, so be aware, it can be difficult for older individuals. She was able to make it down and back with the help of a cane. That dock is so nice! Between the fishing tips, the fresh eggs and veggies, the David’s are great hosts!
We came here to celebrate my Mom’s 85th birthday. I was looking for a VRBO near St. Francisville. This place looked like a good fit for our 4-generation group ages 2 - 85. The lake looked inviting and the private pier sealed the deal. Inside was very comfortable and roomy and we enjoyed the fireplace and other amenities. Everything you need is supplied. We felt very welcomed.
We booked to stay just for the weekend for the LSU game. Not to far from town and in a quite neighborhood. Check in and check out were super easy. Everything was clean and there was plenty of everything (sheets, blankets, pillows) Definitely would stay here again!
Clean and lots of amenities.
The kids enjoyed the basketball goal, the chickens and the fishing dock.
We enjoyed the large Master suite and the layout of the house.
Thanks so much and we look forward to our next trip.
Three of us guys stayed here while working at Riverbend Nuclear Station for couple weeks. It was everything and more. Clean and spacious. The David's were so welcoming they felt like family. Hated leaving. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend to anybody for a great place to stay.

Visiting Grandmas House
The house was big and location was good. The walk to the pier was a bit taxing when you are carrying all the things to the boat. The owners were very friendly and quick to respond. The stove didn’t work well and the oven wouldn’t stay at the desired temp. (Made my famous biscuits take extra long and no golden brown tops because the heat would not stay consistent). Overall if you want camp life at False River and you have a big crew this is a good spot. But, it is a camp that could use some light maintenance and deeper clean before guest. (The master bath tub had hair and the toilet seat wasn’t wiped down). Those are all things that can be easily fixed with a colorox wipe.
We had so much fun! The house was spacious and very clean. The pier on the lake was great for fishing and for swimming as well as docking our boat and wave runner. The owners are so nice and we definitely would recommend this house to anyone!!!
We were in town for a 4-H event-- we LOVED the property! The owner Ms. Claire was wonderful! She was quick to answer any questions we had and left us a sweet note when we arrived. I will definitely stay here again.
**This house was exceptionally clean as well!
The property was a nice getaway. Our family enjoyed fishing at the lake and watching a gator by the wharf. House was clean and met our needs while we were on evacuation. Owner was always available and very helpful to anything we needed.
