The Cape - Cozy Year Round Beachfront Retreat - Staycation - Vacation

Looking for a staycation or vacation right on a private beach? The Cape is located on Shad Bay just 25 minutes from downtown Halifax, 15 minutes away from Peggy’s Cove and 5 minutes away from the quaint Prospect Village. It has spectacular views from it's two tiered back deck and 50 foot wharf and the backyard opens up onto your own private beach, where you can enjoy the water, sand, beach toys, 2 kayaks and paddle board. With huge windows all along the back of the house, the kitchen, dining and main living space, have breathtaking views. If the beach and outdoor fun doesn’t keep you busy our collection of games, books and online tv/movie options will keep you well entertained. The Cape is perfect for your getaway all year round.

The space:
We bought this cottage in 2008 as a gathering place for our family. We have always dreamed of owning a cottage right on the ocean and we are excited to share it with you. It is a place of gathering, connecting and sharing, where friends and family can come together to refuel, step away from the demands of everyday life, and build lasting memories together.

The open concept kitchen, living and dining room invite conversation and cozy relaxation by the wood fireplace. Enjoy dinners around the diner table, with plenty more room for dining and conversation around the large kitchen island or curl up in the family room with a good book from our library, or play a game together from our game selection.

The cottage can comfortably sleep 8 guests (7 adults and 1 child). There are three bedrooms and one common sleeping area. The primary bedroom has a queen sized bed and an en-suite bathroom that includes a full bath, washer and dryer. The second bedroom has a queen bed and is next to a full 3 piece bathroom. The third bedroom has a double bed. The common room has a double/single bunk bed. All bedrooms offer quiet comfort, cozy duvets, and pillows inviting you to settle in and get comfortable. There are extra towels and basic amenities available.

***All linens, duvet covers and shams are freshly washed and pressed between guests. Extra care is taken to clean and disinfect commonly touches areas and surfaces.

***The Cape has a digital key pad for entry, which offers guests a contact free self check in and check out.

***For safety, The Cape has two outdoor security cameras. One at the front of the house with the driveway, walkway and front door within the coverage area of the device. One at the back door with the back door, bottom deck, partial stairs and the edge of the hot tub within the coverage area of the device.

***The Cape has WiFi and good cell service. Guest have full access to everything the home and property have to offer.

***We have a hot tub for our guests to enjoy. It will comfortably fit 4-6 adults. Please let us know if you would like to use it and it will be set up and hot for you when you arrive. There is a $60 surcharge for the use of the hot tub.

Other things to note:
We expect that our home will be treated with care and left in the condition it was found. There is no smoking permitted inside. No parties or events are allowed. Only guests booked into the reservation are allowed on the property.
