Seven of us came from Calgary and Toronto to attend a wedding in Peggy’s Cove. June’s place was our home base and it was all we could have asked for… watching the tide change, campfires and zipping back and forth to Halifax.
This property was perfect! A peaceful and picture perfect spot. A quick journey to Halifax and other interest sites. We had a wonderful time enjoying this property and surrounding area.
A great location with a house needing a few tweaks.
This house was in a great location right on the waterfront where you can sit in the morning watching the birds. The biggest concern with the property was the cleanliness. The sheets on one of the beds smelled and was visibly dirty. The toilets were also needing cleaning. Additionally, one of the rooms opened directly into the staircase. There was also a problem with the door in one of the bedrooms. In summary, the location was nice but the inside left things to be desired.
I thought the property was OK. A few things stood out in which I was a little confused with.
One is if you post a hot tub on site ....show us the Hot tub. There was no hot tub.
Next please clean the BBQ It was very dirty and needed bigtime cleaning.
Also when you have a firepit please have wood available. I stayed at many VRBOS and everyone had plenty of wood. There was no wood and luckily I got some from some good people around the surrounding area.
I'm just happy I looked after my family so they could have a great time.
I guess over-all it was a good time but please advertise what you really do and don't have.
Oh and I would say Crystal Crescent beach was amazing.
Well appointed and comfortable with all the basic supplies- tea, coffee, soap, etc.. The beds vary in firmness, which we appreciated. The views are beautiful and there is a perfect kayak launching spot feet from the house. June was very responsive, gave us some great reccomendations, and was very sweet. We highly reccomend this home.
We had a great 5 day stay at Off the Grid! The location could not have been better. We wanted seclusion from the hustle and bustle of a resort, and OTG didn't disappoint. There was a generous buffer between us and the other houses in the area on Chalk Sound, which gave us the privacy we were hoping for. The pool deck was a perfect place to begin a day of exploring, and to wind down afterward with a cocktail and enjoy the evening breezes and views. And the sound was only a few steps away down the trail below the pool. What a cool place to hang out with an evening snack! Each room in the home has it's own AC unit, so it was easy to personalize the temperatures (mostly we just propped the front door open and let the cool breeze blow through the large twin double glass sliding doors) The power allotment is easily manageable if your party is aware of the need to be frugal. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare the only meal we had in the home; there was just too many good choices to eat out! There were even sharp knives! Not having them is always a let-down to the "amateur chef" in me. If you like to cook for your crew, you'll have what you need. The master bedroom has a very comfortable bed, and the master bath was recently redone to include a walk-in glass shower. A nice touch! The hosts had just recently replaced the beach chairs before our arrival, which was a really nice option to have on the trips we took to the various beaches and bays across Provo.

The house was lovely and clean. June was extremely responsive, and the check-in process was a breeze. The house was very well appointed and well organized with everything you could need, including a few extras like coffee, tea, and a few snacks.
