About this property
Distinctive Cabin + Cozy Guesthouse + Sauna Near Major Attractions, Fiber
Hidden Valley Hideaway is tucked away in the mountains among the apple orchards and vineyards of North Carolina. Both the main cabin and separate guesthouse are included. The guesthouse is built on a steep slope giving a feeling of being in the trees. Internet is via fiber, so the entire family can stream at the same time. This is a one of a kind property with artist touches throughout. The property is a destination itself - you will never stay at another place like it.
The main level of the main cabin features a king bedroom, kitchen, dining area, loft area with twin bed, bathroom (off of kitchen) and family room. The lower level of the main cabin features a family suite with an en-suite bathroom, queen, double and twin bed, a half bathroom and family room with a professional foosball table, several board games, children's books and puzzles. Each family room includes a TV with Netflix. Outside we provide a regulation size cornhole set and life size Jenga.
The guesthouse is located about 50 feet from the main cabin and features a queen bed and two twin beds in the loft. There is a pleasant cedar aroma (think cedar closet) in this guesthouse due to the cedar wood used throughout the construction. There is no plumbing in the guesthouse. The bathroom on the lower level of the main cabin is convenient to access with the paved path between the buildings.
This property has two outdoor fire areas, a 4 burner Weber grill, an outdoor dining area, sauna, laundry, numerous outdoor seating areas and ample parking.
Accessing the main level requires climbing 2 steps from the upper parking area (main parking). The lower level requires going down 13 steps from the main level. The lower level can be accessed without any steps if parking in the rear parking area (accessible via dirt road, room for one car).
A dehumidifier on the lower level of the cabin helps maintain a comfortable living environment. This dehumidifier is connected to a drain and does not require any maintenance from guests. Cellular service is very limited in the valley and your phone may not work. A land line phone is provided with free calls to the U.S. and Canada. The cabin has a wall AC unit on the main level and a portable AC in the lower level family suite. The bunkhouse has a window AC unit.
The fireplaces on the lower level and main level (electric) of the cabin are the primary heat source in winter. These fireplaces are turned off during the summer. The bunkhouse is heated with a wall mounted space heater in winter.
The property is located in a valley down a hill with several turns. The road is paved and state maintained so is easily accessible with any vehicle. Snow is possible during winter and can impact access to the property (but is very rare). In the event that significant snow/ice is present or forecast during your stay and you are not comfortable driving in those conditions, you will be allowed to modify or cancel up to one day prior to check in without penalty.
You have full access to the property - you will be the only people on the property. There is a second guesthouse (not pictured) that is currently being used for storage that you will not have access to.

Loved the home! It is very homey, it quite literally came with everything, super comfortable for my kids as well. Appliances were great except the stove, all though it does work, it’s old and seems to take a while to warm up but other than that it was very nice! Loved all the games and i appreciated that it came with wifi since there’s no cel-reception out there! ALSO very easy to get too! Would 100% come back!
This was an very beautiful and well stocked and place. The hosts absolutely thought of everything for our family of 10. There was something for everyone to do from our two month old to our 10 year old. Would highly recommend to anyone with a large family.
Excellent place to stay. Everything you need for a relaxing getaway. We definitely want to take a trip in cooler weather to enjoy the outdoor fireplace.
Great place if you don’t mind a drive every time you go out to do something.
Lots of space for a large group but be prepared to drive (minimum 30min-1hr) for activities.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay at our home. It is "off the beaten path" - which is part of the charm (very quiet, no road noise). While the Asheville and National Forest type activities are 30+ minutes away, there are several great activities within 15 minutes or less of the home. This includes a number of great vineyards, orchards, hiking trails, fishing and snow tubing (in winter). Our guidebook includes more details on each of these activities.
We had a very nice weekend. Drive to house was an easy mountain drive. Lots of outdoor areas, nice grill, outdoor chimney was perfect for the cool nights. There were toys, games, good internet and comfy beds. Personally I loved the tree house!!! Had to walk to house for bathroom but it was very close so really wasn’t a big deal.
This is such a fun place to stay. There are so many areas to sit, relax and get away to that no matter how many people are staying at Hidden Valley Hideaway, everyone can have their alone time.
We very much enjoyed the experience. The weather was magnificent so we were able to grill out, eat outside and enjoy evening fires.
Property was cute. Somebody put lots of loving touches to this property of the years to bring lots of charm to this place. A little musty at first, but a dehumidifier was available and I think given the age of the home combined with the wooded, mountain location, "a little musty" can be expected. Sauna was finicky but enjoyable once we got it going. Overall, a great experience. The tree house was thoroughly enjoyed by our younger kids!

I am glad you enjoyed your stay. We typically keep the dehumidifier running to maintain comfortable humidity levels. After you checked out we found that the dehumidifier was malfunctioning and was not staying running. We have replaced it with a brand new unit. We hope to host you again in the future - with zero mustiness.
Our stay was ok ,took too long thou to go in and out of that location with too many dangerous curves and yes we understand mountains, but we still like it anyway ,because we love mountains ,house was ok, ,too small kitchen, not enough counter.space ,bathrooms no counter space ,I assume upper bedroom is master bedroom ,way too tight and no dresser ,lots of outdoor spaces thou with barbecue, fire pit ,and sitting areas ,good for bigger younger crowd ,plenty of sleeping beds thou , guest house was cool with sauna ,quiet area ! No barking dogs ,just once !..

I am glad you enjoyed the outdoor areas and uniqueness of the property. I am sorry our home did not meet all of your expectations. We try to describe it and provide photos that give an accurate representation of the home and property. I have improved the descriptions to help make it even more clear for future guests.
This house was full of fun surprises! Well appointed inside and out with two fire pit areas, a new Weber grill, multiple sitting areas on the porches, a game room with foosball, and a bunk house with a sauna underneath. We loved all of the artistic touches throughout. The owners were extremely easy to work with and very responsive. There is one bedroom with a king on the main floor, a queen with a bunk downstairs and another full bed and two bunks (in the loft) of the bunk house. No mountain view or cell signal, but excellent wifi. Road is paved all the way to the house. Within 30 minutes of multiple apple orchards and downtown Hendersonville. We would stay again!

cabin stay over xmas-nice time, but wont return.
The cabin home is located up a mountain, with a steep private parking off the road. An easy drive from CLT. We arrived and were a little disappointed at it is an old worn cabin, so dont expect anything more. It seemed that nothing in the mainfloor had any thought, just items put together. It has a very small living room on main kitchen floor, with 1 couch and 2 chairs. A sectional would have definitely been more comfortable for a family of 6. The main floor has a beautiful tree view from the master and living area. The master bathroom is located outside of bedroom in front of the kitchen so a bit odd. The master had dirty carpeting so slippers were required. It is a very tight room, the very comfortable mattress takes over the room
The bottom floor has a pretty bed with a bunk bed in same room, with full bath. Adjacent is a pretty cozy sitting area with foozball and couch, with additional 1/2 bath .
In order to go from the lock box /entrance it required walking thru this sitting area thru the private bedroom to get to the stairs to get upstairs. The additional half bathroom did however allow the couple staying in the treehouse ability to use bathroom without entering the private room, The tree house outside was cute and comfortable No bathroom.
The best part of the house was the outside bbq area, it had a beautiful fireplace and BBQ for cooking, We spent most of our time there. The place did grow on us as it was a cozy cabin just needed some better upkeep. Owner was nice

Thank you for the detailed feedback on your stay. We are glad there are many things you enjoyed about your stay. We are very sorry we did not meet all your expectations. We strive to provide pictures and descriptions that accurately reflect the property. It is an older cabin, but that is part of what makes it so unique and charming to stay at. We make every effort to keep the cabin clean and in good working order. The carpet in the master bedroom is vacuumed between every guest and is thoroughly cleaned several times per year. If you are looking for a modern style vacation rental, this may not be for you. If you are looking for a one of a kind stay with distinctive design elements throughout, this is a great option.
Unique property. Met our high standards. The only reason I gave it a four is how remote it is. Close to area attractions south of Asheville. 20 min. from Hendersonville. Property owner very good to deal with.
Hidden Valley was a cute location with so many unique touches. Deborah was very thorough with explaining the check in /check out process and everything that was available to us. We had no questions when it came to checking in and out. The beds were super comfortable, and there were so many amenities like the baby carrier, stroller, and pack n play. The kitchen is a little small and there isn't a dishwasher, but we ate about half of our meals out and we bought paper plates which helped with cleanup. There are a lot of board games and outside games to play, which was a lot of fun. The roads leading up to the house are super dark and winding, so a heads up about that. We arrived at night for check in and it was hard to find the driveway, so I recommend trying to get there before nightfall. Overall, we enjoyed the eclecticness and uniqueness of the cabin, and we all had a great time. It's a great find for the price!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hidden Valley! Very comfortable and cozy house. I love all the creative touches in the house. The beds were comfortable, linens were high quality, and seating well thought out. The owners added several extras for visitors- shampoo and conditioner, welcome basket with snacks, coffee, a couple of local brewery beers. There are several outside patios to enjoy. Our teenage daughter and friend lived that the downstairs area; it was a perfect set up for them - separate comfortable living room, two beds and separate patio. One thing to note: Apple maps tried to take us down a steep small gravel road near the cabin. Just ignore this and follow the main paved road all the way. Perfect location to enjoy Chimney Rock area.
The best aspect of this property is it's ability to provide privacy for groups traveling together. Our teens loved the cedar tree house. The grandparents had one floor, and the parents with 4and 5 years olds another. Although this property is far from anywhere, there is plenty to do for fun on site. We had a great time.
