Welcome to Tanbark Shores Guest House. Brookings is open for business, with Covid-19 protocols in place. We are ready to welcome you. Our guests will enjoy a private studio suite with a kitchenette and are welcome to share our Home's Oceanview and fire pit. Just four blocks from downtown Brookings, we offer an extremely comfortable, secure, and convenient place for you to come. Our newly remodeled Pilot House Suite was designed to capture and embrace our coastal environment. Our guests will enjoy a private studio suite with a kitchenette and are welcome to share the Guest House’s Oceanview and fire pit. Our property is surrounded by fencing with 3 separate areas to ensure our guests have privacy. Just 4 blocks from downtown Brookings, we offer an extremely comfortable, secure, and convenient place for you to come. Come, stay and play, “Where the Ocean comes to Rest!”

Cozy place in the heart of Brookings

Cozy, clean place right in the heart of everything. Easy access to the sam boardman corridor and the rest of the oregon coast. Debra was very responsive to all requests made and the place itself has a lot of things you need (and don’t know you need). Bed was amazing, slept like a baby.

Eclectic charm abounds in this spacious studio apartment. All the furnishings from the bed sheets to the toaster are high end in perfect condition. Located in a quiet part of town but close to grocery shopping and restaurants, the best feature is the view! Be sure to ask about the barbecue shed because we did not realize how cool that was until we were checking out.

A charming cottage and property!

A Five Star Stay

This was our second visit we are already planning our third. Every amenity is thoughtfully provided and Debbie and Scott are the perfect hosts. Close in to town and national parks. The best part is a breathtaking view of the ocean from the deck. You won’t want to leave!

Peaceful escape

This property provides guests with privacy, beauty and everything one could posslbly need for a complete getaway! Debbie and Scott and two dogs welcomed us so graciously! Good restaurants and harbor are witjin walking distance. Highly recommend!

Amazing in every way!

In perfect condition with fun coastal decor, luxurious bed, and fully stocked with many extra touches! Plus wonderful and friendly hosts. Plus the cottage is in a great central location, close to stores, beaches, etc. We'll be back!

Comfortable stay and beautiful location

The place was very clean and comfortable. The hosts were very kind and even supplied items such as bottled water, sodas, and a chocolate bar! :) We loved being able to sit on the deck and watch the ocean. A bonus was that it was dog-friendly, and a short drive/walk to a dog park. We would happily rent this place again.

Perfect Spot

We were here on our honeymoon. My wife was blown away by some of the details of the cottage. The Ocean view was unbelievable! Debbie and Scott were amazing hosts. I also recommend Carl from Smith River Kayak only 15 minutes away. We had a Great experience here! Thank You!

The Pilot House

The Pilot House was perfect! The unit is stocked with anything you might need…even chocolate! We were able to bring our 2 dogs which made the stay that much more enjoyable. Debbie and Scott, our hosts made us feel very welcome! Just a wonderful spot on the Oregon coast! We will definitely go back.

The guest house was situated in lovely gardens.It was peaceful and the hosts were so sweet. They satisfied all our needs. The only thing is that it did not have an ocean view except on the other side of the main home. Otherwise it was perfect.

Really Really nice Cottage and experience!

Could not ask for a better experience. Brookings climate is the best, especially along the ocean coast. This cottage is located on ocean front property. The cottage is welcoming and so comfortable. You have everything you would ever want or need. The bed is exceptionally comfortable. The hosts are the best, you will really enjoy meeting Scott and Debbi, really good people and host. Added value from the gated security and allowing us to plug in our Tesla into an RV service plug with our adapter. The best overall value on the coast! Looking forward to a return!

Pacific and Redwood Comfort

We wanted a home base to explore the Redwoods and the area. Although the Pacific NW threw adverse weather at us every day we were there, we managed to see the area and our evenings were comfortable, warm and dry in a really cute studio with some room to spread out. The studio was everything that was advertised with no surprises. The owners were great people and the gated parking and lodging gave a feel of security. The owners open their fire-pit, deck, and patio to the lodgers, but the inclement weather limited us to spend minutes versus the hours that we would have liked, to simply sit on their deck to admire one of the best views in Coastal Oregon. The peace and tranquility are something special.

So relaxing

The property was perfect for us! My phone had died along the journey to Brookings and we ended up arriving an hour before check in and Debbi was so gracious to accommodate us. She gave us a quick run through of the amenities and let us know we were always welcome to their back yard/porch to check out the amazing views. The cottage was beautifully appointed and we even had a yard for our dogs to run around. The bed… all I can say is I want to know the brand name because it was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in. The neighborhood was super quiet and yet still walkable to downtown Brookings. There’s a grocery store within walking distance and beach access not too far from there as well. Great property overall. We loved having the in room laundry as well for to make the day after vacation that much easier.

Tucked Away Treat

Lovely cottage with "deliciously comfortable" bed; pictures and description of property spot on. We were greeted by Debi and Scott, with a walk through on the specifics related to blinds, induction cook top, etc. Due to unexpected family circumstances, we left before completing our stay. Debi was understanding as to the reason for our early departure.

Perfection!

First off left me say the photos do not do justice. The views are amazing! The cottage was perfect! Everything was upscale. Plush towels, great shower, nicely equipped. There was plenty of fenced area for our dog to roam. The owners were very helpful in all aspects. We had a medical emergency and Debbi and Scott cared for our pet when we couldn't. I would go back to this property in a heartbeat. No detail was left out.

Scott and I met 8 years ago and began searching for a Bnb to purchase. We settled on a home with a guest cottage in Brookings, because of the peacefulness of the area and the sheer beauty of the coastline. We strive to create a stay with us as a true get-a-way from life's fast-paced. Breathe in the ocean air and have that aah... moment.
