Escape to your own private tiny house tucked away on a retreat destination where boutique-hotel comfort meets a serene natural setting. This charming hideaway offers the best of both worlds—peaceful seclusion with plenty of ways to play. Spend your mornings lounging by the pool, your afternoons enjoying outdoor games under the shade, and your evenings unwinding in your cozy suite designed for rest and relaxation.

Whether you’re here for a quiet retreat or a fun-filled getaway, this unique space provides a one-of-a-kind experience just minutes from everything Waco has to offer. Located only 15-20 minutes from Baylor University and Magnolia at the Silos in downtown Waco, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy local attractions while returning to the calm of nature at the end of the day. If this room is available, then you are in luck because this room is part of a total property listing that includes ALL 20 rooms at Gathering Oaks Retreat, and is usually rented out as the whole property for retreats and reunions.

No daily hotel service or breakfast options. Fire pit, patio furniture, pool, and outdoor games are all shared spaces. We do not have natural gas and do not keep the hot tub heated 24/7 to save energy and keep things green. If you would like to request a hot tub reservation, October through April, we can warm it up remotely for a fee of $50 per hour. This fee is optional and and covers the private hot tub reservation, extra power and prep, but is totally worth it for that perfect evening dip under the stars! Feel free to bring your own fire wood (no cedar) to light the fire pit at your convenience.

We loved Gathering Oaks Retreat!

This property far exceeded my expectations. My teenage sons and I had so much fun playing ping pong, bags and the hot tub/pool! It was so peaceful and relaxed. If we ever get back to Waco, we'll be staying here!

It was so unfortunate that there was no water the morning of your check out. Our water supplier had an outage in the area and it was completely out of our control. This has never happened to our property before. We usually have well water, but the recent winter freeze that threw Texas into a State of Emergency ruined our well pump so we were forced to switch to city water. The replacement pump comes this week so this won’t be an issue in the future. It’s a shame that something completely out of our control warranted a 2 Star rating. Small businesses are doing all they can to overcome the hardships of 2020 and now 2021. We hope to make it up to you in the future. Blessings to you and yours.

Peaceful and romantic

My husband and I chose gathering oaks to stay in for our 5th wedding anniversary. We loved the property and the location. It was far enough out of town that it felt quiet and peaceful, but close enough that we drove in for our meals and for entertainment. The tiny house we stayed in was really cute! The kitchenette had coffee and cutlery and such. We also enjoyed the view of the trees from our bed as we had our morning coffee. The games on the grounds were fun and filled in the gaps of our weekend. We really enjoyed our time and think it would be so fun to book for a girls weekend away or a family reunion! And if you are a fixer upper fan, you literally drive by the Gaine’s property every time you head into or out of town!

Peaceful!

This is a quaint compound with lots of trees & space to roam. We stayed in one of the tiny houses which is actually larger than most hotel rooms. We had everything we needed for our short stay. The location is very rural. We drove into Waco for Baylor activities, restaurants, & food supplies to bring back with us to the property. This is a super place for groups.
