Clara’s Nest is in a 1880's adobe compound with its own private entry and courtyard, original stone floors, handcrafted beams as well as hand-painted bird & flower motif throughout. The suite features a king bed with plush bedding, cozy loveseat & ottoman adjacent to the sleeping area, dining table & 4 chairs, kitchenette with micro, fridge, coffee & tea bar, a separate living room with sofa and TV, as well as a private bath. Absolutely the cutest Casita. Very special place with excellent decor. Bed was superb and I felt the authenticity of the pueblo setting. I highly recommend staying in this unique setting

Clara's Nest is a unique historical property. The owners have decorated it with care and put a lot of work into it. The property was a delight to stay in. We could walk to downtown for shopping, eating, and the market.

Wonderful Winter 2021

Beautiful suite, beautiful hacienda property... and the best weather that 2021 could share! Owners Tamera and Eric are super hospitable and really did everything to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to experience New Mexico's enchantment!

Absolutely Stunning!!!

My stay at this VRBO was an absolute dream. The photos online were beautiful, but they simply couldn't capture the true beauty of this hacienda. From the moment I arrived, I was awestruck by the gorgeous architecture, the lush grounds, and the overall sense of tranquility.The location was perfect! Just a short, pleasant walk brought us right into the heart of downtown, where I discovered some fantastic restaurants and bars. This VRBO provided the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and convenience. I can't wait to return!

Folk art fab

This little place is exquisite. The wood beams, hand painted windows, folk art in every little niche…it’s a delight. Just do be aware that some place with all that awesome folksiness comes with things like tiny doors and uneven floors. But we two seniors did fine. The furniture is comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water.

The Best Getaway!

Eric and Tamara were amazing hosts and Clara’s Nest is the most beautiful place to stay. We had the best time. It was a breeze to check in and out. Eric and Tamara were so communicative. Everything about Clara’s nest was charming and intentional! Our hosts thought of everything. They even let us borrow sleds for when we visited white sands. Everything was clean and charming. It was centrally located and such a short walk to I so many fun restaurants and stores. We cannot recommend La Hacienda de Las Cruces and Clara’s Nest enough! Thank you for hosting us!

A Las Cruces gem

We were charmed by this lovely property. The space is large, comfortable, and beautiful with thoughtful and well-appointed furnishings. The hosts were very responsive, friendly , & professional. Everything was very clean and well-cared for. We used it as a jumping off point to White Sands & the El Paso arts district but thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the space as well. The neighborhood is charming and walkable. 10/10 would highly recommend!

Tamera grew up in Northwestern Connecticut and Eric grew up outside of Indianapolis. When we are not at our day jobs, you can find us on our bikes or working on the property to keep it in good form.

Why they chose this property

We chose to live in the Alameda Depot District because of its quaint character. We have made many neighborhood friends and feel fortunate that we get to live downtown, close to all attractions.

What makes this property unique

This house was one of the first built in the city and craftsman worked on the evolution of the Hacienda over 35 years and it is filled with very interesting architectural features that we enjoy sharing with the public.
