Rustic intown country apartment on the Moosehead trail
A quiet country setting 30 minutes from 100 mile wilderness trailhead on the Appalachian trail and Moosehead lake region. Wildlife can be spotted from the apartment in the back field and woods. Coffee shops and restaurants within 15 minute drive. Cozy, comfortable apartment to kick back and enjoy. State Parks include Peakes Kenny and Lily Bay in the area or a boat ride to an island in the middle of Moosehead lake with hiking trails and awesome history. 2 hour drive to Acadia National Park. This is an old house we aquired. We have been upgrading and adding to it as we go along. There was a mention of that after 2 years. We have plans to upgrade the entry in the near future. We work hard to provide a most satisfactory stay and hope to reflect that in reviews. We live on the property if anything is not right we would like to correct any issues. Please enjoy your stay.

Had the pleasure of meeting the host during my stay. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating, responding quickly when I needed things!! The house is absolutely wonderful and cozy! I definitely plan to return.
Thank you for providing a clean, safe place for me to stay while fishing in the area. You have everything I need and are always ready to help. I look forward to coming back.
The owner was very friendly and accommodating. The space she offered was very clean and thoughtfully appointed with all the dishes, cookware, towels and other things one might need. I would stay here again.

Small and quiet place with everything you need. Comfortable bed and soft sheets as well :) very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking necessities too which we appreciated! Thank you!!
I had a long stay (several months) and they were consistently attentive to my needs. I was so fortunate to have found such great people, location and place for my dogs during my home renovations.
Ruth had everything: hairdryer, iron, filtered water, soap, shampoo.
Very clean linen and comfortable bed and furniture. Easy check in and very quiet neighborhood. Beautiful paths made in the back.
Thank you so much

Thank you for your kind words. It was our pleasure to host you both. Both very neat and respectful. We hope to see you stay with us again. The fur babies are adorable!
I guess you could call it an apartment, but it felt a lot bigger than any apartment I've ever lived in! It is very clean, and in a quiet area. It was perfect for my trip. It includes cable TV on a large screen, Wifi, and a full kitchen. There's even a hairdryer and iron with ironing board if you need such things.

Dan was a great guest. He was very polite and quiet. He was visiting on personal business. He left the apartment perfectly clean, bed stripped and linens on the washing machine. He is welcome at any time. Thank you for your stay, Dan.

This was a beautiful area and cozy apartment! There was a good selection of kitchen equipment. The laundry facilties were very convenient. Ruth was friendly and quick to communicate. We would definitely return!
Ruth was very responsive and very nice! My husband knew her husband for a long time and we enjoyed our stay for the five days. I recommend 100% this stay! Peaceful, quiet and lovely. Cannot ask better for that price. Thanks a lot Ruth!

We loved hosting you and hubby. We welcome you both to visit anytime.
We had a very enjoyable stay at Ruth’s place. She communicated very well and made sure we had everything we needed. Only complaints was that there was broken glass at the back of the property by the trail and there was a bandaid stuck to a blanket. If you’re looking for a quiet neighborhood and very friendly/dog friendly hosts, this is the place to book!

Thank you for your feedback, Taylor. The trail was recently created and we have picked up the glass and any other items that didn't belong. Not sure how the bandaid was still on a blanket, since we wash everything after every stay. We will be sure to look more closely when putting linens away.
Edit: after investigating, the blanket and coverlet used were stored all summer and was just pulled out. The mysterious bandaid had to be used in the most current stay. We carefully wash, and sanitize everything. It was a great reservation though.
I stayed here at Ruth's VRBO for almost 4 months with my two dogs through the better part of a winter. It was always warm and cozy and the driveway maintained so I could get to work. It was quiet and functional. It was a badly needed "harbor in the storm" while I waited for my new house to be habitable.

We are in the Maine Highlands. A beautiful and quiet part of the state. Guests come here to get away from the hustle and noise. We do have a few restaurants in the neighboring town and take out close by. Beautiful scenic drive and state Parks within a 30 minute drive. We are in a small town, the location and photos are accurate. I don't provide a lot of activities due to folks coming to do their own thing. I'll be adding indoor games and puzzles. We keep our price very reasonable.
Great place to stay. Our dog loved the trail in their backyard. Ruth was very nice. She had everything anyone could need for a stay. Only negative which is minor was the tv/wifi was very spotting. Made watching tv hard but we were not there to watch tv. Drove to Greenville to enjoy Moosehead Lake for the day. If we ever return to Sangerville would love to visit Ruth and her place again.
I stayed here for 3 months while my house was being built. I welcomed the dog friendly stay and accommodating hostess, Ruth and her family. It was just right for me and my two poodles. I really enjoyed having the washer and dryer and fully stocked kitchen. Also the location between Dover-Foxcroft and Greenville was ideal. Ruth and her family kept the snow plowed and driveway cleared with every storm. I am eternally grateful to have found reasonably priced accommodations that accepted dogs fir my long term stay. Thank you!

Thank you for your kind words. It has been great having you and the dogs stay at our place.
The amount of detail Ruth has put into this space really makes it feel like you are staying in a cozy beach cottage of a relative. It has everything you could need for your stay and is very clean. It's in a good area, there seems to be much to do nearby especially if you are outdoorsy. Ruth was very kind and attentive, she introduced herself the moment we arrived and I could tell it would be no hassle to contact her if we needed to during our stay. I loved reading the journal entries from people who have come from all over to stay here. We're going to need a local place while our new home undergoes some construction so I hope we will be back soon to create our own entry! This place is definitely at the top of our list. Thank you Ruth!!
