Far from the crowds of Nosy Be, the house is a true paradise. The location is magnificent. When we arrived the turtles were swimming in the sea, just in front of the house. The Lemures visited us twice. The house looks just like the photos, and the owner was truly kind. The staff is perfect. Toni is an excellent guide, and Jean Baptiste spoiled us with delicious fish and desserts (all homemade). It is the most beautiful place I have seen in Madagascar, and I recommend a stay there to everyone.

Such an amazing place to relax and enjoy a slice of paradise. The beach was perfect for relaxing and swimming, the accommodation was beautiful and the food delicious. The excursions were fantastic. The opportunity to go snorkeling with the turtles and fish, to see the Lemurs shouldn't be missed. What a place! Everything is set up perfectly and it is highly recommended for anyone and everyone.

We just spent a week in Nosi Komba at Dominique's house. We were three couples, and the house was perfect for us. The only thing I can say is that you need to be in good shape because there are a few steps to climb, but once you're up, the view is breathtaking and the sunsets unforgettable.The Malagasy staff who work there were exceptional; they made us feel truly at home. Chef Jean Baptiste pampered us and fed us excellently. With the boat, which is available every day, we took wonderful trips to explore the surrounding beaches and villages.We truly thanks them for the wonderful memory we took back home.

Top Hideaway at Nosy Komba

The three houses are located above a small privat sand beach and have enough space to accomodate six adult easily. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated with absolute amazing views. The facilities are all working well. In the top house is the kitchen and a sleeping place for the manager/chef. Our Manager/Chef was the nice Valerie and she did a brillant job: Food was delicious, everything was always tidy and spotless. And she helped to organise trips to the lemurs on Nosy Komba or to the powdersand Island of Nosy Iranja. 100% Recommandation! We will come back for sure!

Paradise.

Honestly, no other word for this vacation other than paradise. You arrive by boat from Hellville directly to the private beach that the villas overlook. Sergio, the muscle man, takes our 30kg suitcases over his head and carries them up the stairs to our room. The master villa is beautiful, bathroom is spacious and clean, open-plan style shower and large sink, and a large mirror with great bright lighting. Mosquito nets over all the windows, doors, and of course the bed. Master bed was beautifully comfortable. Terrace was spacious with amazing loungers and views of the beach. The sun sets over the horizon. Further upstairs is the restaurant/ living area. Chef Jean Baptiste was the highlight of our entire stay in Madagascar. A kind, honest, humble man who is fantastic at his job. As a chef myself, all food was perfectly cooked, ingredient selection was perfect, presentation was beautiful. His service really made our stay feel 5*. Pricilla, the maid / housekeeper was also wonderful at tidying and refreshing our rooms every day, which further made the experience feel so luxury. Honestly, nothing but good reviews for this place. Everything was stunning, and clean, and homely. The views are just... speechless - and that beautiful starry night sky. I miss falling asleep to the sound of waves and crickets. You may also get visits from Lemurs in the trees above. Perfection. Thank you Dominque.

Un magnifique séjour dans un cadre exceptionnel !Nous étions six (4 adultes et 2 enfants), répartis dans deux maisons confortables, bien équipées, avec de grandes salles de bains et de belles terrasses face à la mer.Une excellente équipe ! Tony, le majordome, est cultivé, parle très bien français et est toujours disponible. Gilda, son épouse, est adorable, s'occupe du ménage et propose de très bons massages à petit prix. Michael, le cuisinier, nous a régalés. Tous sont accueillants et attentionnés.Le jardin luxuriant, l'accès direct à la plage et la nature environnante sont magnifiques. Nous avons observé caméléons, lézards et lémuriens à proximité. Dans la maison de deux chambres, le bruit des vagues est assez présent la nuit : agréable pour certains, moins pour les personnes sensibles au bruit.Le lodge est à flanc de colline avec de nombreuses marches.La mer est plus calme le matin, idéal pour le snorkeling et les excursions. Tony nous a aussi organisé une excellente matinée de pêche.Le bateau de Fidel est confortable pour six, mais son tarif de 20 /h nous a semblé élevé. Nous avons trouvé une alternative locale à 200 000 ariary (environ 40 ) la demi-journée. N'hésitez pas à comparer.Dominique a été très aidante et la communication excellente. Elle a facilité le transfert d'argent au lodge pour que le cuisinier puisse faire les courses et acheter l'eau potable. Tout s'est parfaitement déroulé.Une superbe adresse, une équipe formidable et un séjour inoubliable

le paradis existe ici-bas

Nosy Komba demeure l'un des derniers endroits sur terre où la main de l'homme travaille en symbiose avec la nature dans un rôle d'interdépendance. La villa Maki Vari s'inscrit pleinement dans cette démarche .Construite en matériaux locaux, le ravinale, elle s'intègre dans son milieu avec un luxe jamais surfait et le confort moderne en pleine jungle. Nous avons néanmoins été surtout subjugués par l'équipe officiant en ces lieux pour la satisfaction des clients. Mario le chef cuisto transforme les spécialitès du terroir avec un talent qui n'a rien à envier à celui d'un chef étoilé. Prisca la gouvernante oeuvre en toute discrétion pour une propreté et un rangement impécables. Marlin et le capitaine ne sont jamais à court d'idées pour vous faire découvrir les richesses de ce paradis terrestre. Ces queques jours passés en leur compagnie resteront à jamais gravés dans notre mémoire comme une escapade magique en dehors du monde connu.

Very relaxing beach and garden property

Get away from it all (only accessible by boat, with your private captain), don’t worry about working (cook and femme de menage take care of everything including running errands), only need to decide what to do first: swimming , snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, scuba diving, nothing. Great communication with the hosts.

Paradise

We loved our stay here. This was our first stop on our 3.5 week of travel in Madagascar. The bar was set pretty high! We swam with whale sharks on our first day, the colour of the water cannot be put in words. The ocean here is by far the most beautiful we have ever seen. We were the first guest to stay at this private home so they do need to work out a few things, but besides that it s a fantastic place. Just some info you should know. The captain and boat is only accessible in the am. Because of the winds in the afternoon they will not take you anywhere and will want you back by 1:30 latest. Make sure to have a meal plan before you arrive so you can stop at the store and stock up on arrival (once you get to the house you cannot leave until the next morning). WE just finsihed traveling for 30 hours so we walked around the grocery store in a daze and were not sure what to buy. The driver did suggest we only needed to buy a few things and we could come back the next day, but honestly I wouldn’t want to waste my time going back and forth to Nosy Be, so stock up on arrival. The chef is fantastic, he will make you anything you ask for as long as he has the ingredients. This place is paradise.

Just a word about the “back to home” by boat : as it’s the beginning of raining season, the wind could be quite high on the sea after 2pm but in regular season, we may easily come back around 4pm. For the errands, we now offer the service to make your “firsts days food basket” - it will be up to you :)) We keep putting all our efforts for every stay in this island becomes a fantastic, uncommon and unforgettable experience :)
