About this property

BEACHFRONT MILLION DOLLAR VIEWS PANORAMIC GULF SUNRISE! Book Summer Escape Today

Heavenly Sunrise is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath beachfront home with ocean views from every room in the house except the three bathrooms. This home is a comfortable 1800+ square feet with approximately 1000 feet of uncovered, covered and screened decks with UNOBSTRUCTED views of the Gulf of Mexico on a 1 acre beachfront lot!

The home is comfortably furnished with a large family or group in mind. The top floor boasts a million dollar view of the sugar white beaches and Gulf of Mexico from the master suite, living room, dining room, kitchen, screened porch and uncovered sun deck. The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of cookware and serving ware to serve many. Most common small kitchen appliances are provided for your convenience.

The first floor has three additional bedrooms, each with a covered deck and million dollar view of the Gulf along with two additional baths and the laundry room.

Heavenly Sunrise faces east for the most incredible sunrise views imaginable. The home was designed to provide breath-taking views and deck access from every bedroom and common area. Decks were designed for sun-lovers, shade-lovers and those that tend to attract the attention of biting insects common to Florida beaches i.e. no-see-ums or mosquitoes.

If you are looking for an un-crowded paradise for your family or friends, Heavenly Sunrise will more than deliver. If you dream of a Florida vacation on unspoiled beaches, without all of the tourists, tourist traps, traffic, and drunken crowds; Heavenly Sunrise will accommodate those dreams. If you imagine private midnight strolls or early morning jogs along the Gulf of Mexico, fishing from the surf, or the sounds of the waves crashing while the whippoorwills chant to wake you to your own private daily viewing of the Almighty’s splendor… Heavenly Sunrise is sure to please!

The view is beautiful. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation, this is the right place. We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation. Many places to explore. We visited several of the state parks in the surrounding area Would definitely stay here again. We enjoyed building sand castles on the beach and the beautiful sunrise in the mornings. We enjoyed watching the Dolphins swimming around the area and seashell hunting daily The host was very easy to communicate with. Plenty of parking spaces for our family.

Absolutely perfect! Amazing views! Our favorite vacation spot for sure. We usually stay on the other end of Alligator Point, we needed more space this year. I will say, if you are taking older folks, it is a lot of stairs. Other then that, perfect!

Family beach stay

Amazing views and peaceful area. Good restaurants nearby. Owner is fantastic and very attentive. Lots of space for everyone. Three flights of stairs to main area gets your cardio in but worth it. Beach/water shoes are a must as there is a line of rocks at the waterline. When the tide goes out you can walk for a hundred yards and see amazing sea critters.

Great views

We had a great time but accommodations for 12 is a stretch. The stairs are not for everyone. The kids enjoyed wading out on low tide but be careful of the rocks on the beach. The views are spectacular. Good parking and quiet neighborhood. The good things outweigh the not so good.

THomas, thanks for taking care of our home! Yes, unfortunately Building Code and Hurricane codes call for 12 foot pilings for ALL beachfront homes. If you want to be beachfront - there will be stairs to contend with. Also, due to the wonderful, rural nature of the area, there are no elevator companies in Franklin or Wakulla counties - so elevators are out of the question! Glad you enjoyed your stay!

The best vacation of my life.

In complete candor, I was a little disappointed in the beach. The water was fairly brown- clean, but brown. This is just a result of silt from the river. The beach was SUPER clean and quite natural, but there were a ton of super sharp rocks about 12 feet into the water. Those are literally the only negatives I have about the trip and honestly, small potatoes. Everything else was PERFECT Pictures are from the lowest tide we saw.

Thanks for your kind words. Unfortunately, unprecedented rainfall up north in Georgia and Alabama eventually washes its way down the Flint and Chatahoochee rivers, straight into the Gulf! Those floods also bring rocks along with the dark river water, until the surf has time to clean everything up again. Thankfully, the non-stop rain has finally subsided! The beach should go back to normal soon! Thats the wonderful thing about the crashing waves and the fluctuating tides! They wash it all out as quickly as the upland flood waters washed it in! Hope you can come again (when it hasnt rained for 60 straight days!)

Great quiet beachfront vacation spot!

This house was very conducive to our group. We spent a relaxing 5 days walking the isolated beach and watching the ocean. Our group of four enjoyed the porches, both screened and open, and the comfortable living space. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I will say the views were excellent. The cleanliness needs improvement. The tub has a patch that has mildewed on it. The pillows are not all in pillow protectors and ugly yellow stains on them. The kitchen wall had something spilt all the way down them. The deck furniture all broken up. The television was not hooked up in one room and when we contacted management to help with the television situation they said they would see about sending someone out. We are back from our trip and we never saw anyone. Please beware of large wasp nest all around top deck area even in the hurricane shutters. The locks on the sliding glass doors do not have one lock that works. You may use a stick in the track for the locking system if you can find the stick. The closets are full of items so no room for your luggage. The views like I said are wonderful. I will say the price of the weekly stay is way overpriced in my opinion for the condition of this house.

Thank you for your review. I ( the owner) have always managed the home but recently (October) hired a management company. I'm sorry you were the transitional rental week. We rely on guests and cleaning crew to let us know when outdoor furniture has been broken by a previous guest. Your contract states you are required to notify us within 12 hours of arrival of any damage. We never heard from you . I apologize the new cleaning crew missed a mildew spot and failed to discard a pillow that was left behind by a previous guest. All of our pillows are protected with pillow protectors but many people like to travel with their own favorite pillow, and frequently forget to pack them when they leave. This was the week we hired a company to take over management and that must have gotten missed. As you can see from the reviews the week after your stay, the issues were resolved and I have full confidence in the new management company to be very responsive to guests and provide excellent cleaning services. I'm sorry for the failure in communication, as that would have resolved any issues.

Stairs, stairs and more stairs

Kitchen and living room are on top floor, very inconvenient for grilling on ground level and hauling groceries up. Not the cleanest place i've rented. Under toilet seat had dry urine, long black hairs in bathroom. Fishing was great. Waited till 15 minutes after check-in time for property manager to meet to let us in before driving 10 minutes back toward Hwy 98 to get cell signal to call for door lock code. No gas grill, bring charcoal if grilling. Bring toilet paper, paper towels, etc.
Stayed 4 nights in Apr 2025
Response from VrboOwner on 20 Jun, 2025
Gary, So sorry that the stairs, the charcoal and the paper products you must provide came as a surprise to you. There are over 45 photos of the house and a written description of the house on the website where you booked your vacation, with over half showing the stairs. All beachfront houses built after 2000 must be built on 12 ft. pilings to meet code, thus the stairs! The packing list is provided on line and is sent to you directly to insure you read it, but we can't force you to read it. As is standard in this area, we provide your initial paper products but do NOT provide paper products for 12 guests for 7-day stays, nust as the packing list and the contract states. The code to enter the house is sent via the vrbo app prior to check-in. Since you had to drive 10 minutes over the bridge to get signal, it sounds like maybe a cell tower was down which would likely be the reason you didn't receive the door code! Unfortunately we had no way to know that, until you called. We do apologize for the urine spot on the toilet seat. We make every effort to provide a very clean home, which our over 100 5-star reviews always spotlight. While the cleaning crew could have possibly missed that spot, it is more probable that the HVAC tech that was at the house to service both ACs on Monday morning, "sprinkled when he tinkeled"!

Beautiful and quiet beach

This is a beach full of life - meaning most of the shells have a crab or snell. We seen strinrays, dolphins, some littlw jellyfish, and an alligator. This beach is not full of people. Plenty of room with our group of 8. Lots of amenties. The host/manager was great at responding quickly prior to our stay. We did NOT need to contact her for any reason during our week long stay. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Wonderful views!

This house was perfect for getting away from everything and just relaxing for a week. The beach is virtually empty for you to do anything you want. We kayaked and boated most day, sometimes right beside dolphins. The wildlife is amazing. We will definitely remember Heavenly Sunrise in our future vacation planning. Also, communication with the owner was great. Very fast responses to our questions, and definitely very concerned that everything is perfect for her guests.

owner super easy to work with. if you love sea life this is the place for you. there is an abundance!!! the beach is perfect to fish and find all sorts of critters! if you are looking for a pristine beach to play and run this is not it, however short drives can take you to one. It was the best of both worlds. This place is laid back and VERY quiet. We would fish, snack and head out to St. George for the afternoon. Come back and fish some more and kids would hike the beach for shells.

House and beach were amazing! There were no Beach lounge chairs, no hair dryers, the grill was so rusty we couldn’t use it to cook. No extra blankets. But overall it was an awesome vacation!

Response from VrboOwner on 20 Apr, 2023
Thanks for your review! We go to great lengths to provide a clean, comfortable, well-maintained home. I simple text would have resolved the issue with the extra blankets and the hair dryer, both of which are provided. The bunk room closet has 2 Rubbermaid containers filled with extra blankets, comforters and pillow. The extra hair dryer is stored under the sink in the master bath. You are correct that beach chairs are not provided, which is clearly stated in the listing and on the documents you must read and return. As a premier host for 10 years, we have learned that beach chairs get left on the beach by guests during their stay and must be replaced each week, due to being washed away or the rust that appears in a matter of days, if they are not rinsed thoroughly and stored each night. Rusted beach chairs are a dangerous liability. Replacing them weekly is a cost-prohibitive impossibility. Unfortunately, due to the privacy and remoteness of this beach, there is no service to provide wood beach chairs like you see in overcrowded condominium beach towns. If you read the over 100 reviews, you will find no other complaint of no beach chairs, since that is fully disclosed in the listing and in the contract you signed. Finally, as the contract also states - grills are a problem here. We provide 2 grills a year- in March when the season starts and in October, after the season ends. We have tried every brand of grill and find that they all have steel screws or grill grates or other grill parts, that just can not survive in this harsh, humid, salty environment. The grill we replaced in March was still functional, but there was rust on it...and we have not found a grill yet that does not rust at the beach. Our only other option is to stop providing them altogether. As much as I would like to do that - I also like to grill when I go to the beach so I keep providing them. I just use some aluminum foil on the grates.

Host profile image
I'm from Tallahassee, but have lived in Atlanta for 25 years. I grew up fishing, crabbing and sun-tanning on Alligator Point at my Granddaddy's beach house. I built this house to accommodate my family and my husband's family. We have spent countless nights watching the shooting stars, eating roasted oysters and watching our kids grow up on the beach! Those family memories will outlast me and become traditions! We have traveled the world, but nothing compares to a family vacation at this beach. The privacy and the safety can't be found on another beach. I hope that you make some lifetime memories with your family and friends, also!

Why they chose this property

This is the 'Forgotten Coast.' Home of the last 'Real Florida' beaches. The area was protected by State and Federal Parks, Forests, and Wildlife Refuges many years ago, so it remains natural and pristine. The locals still fish for a living, and development was never allowed to run rampant. It is one of the few beaches in Florida where you can still find shells, sand dollars, starfish, coral and other sea life. The porpoises play along the shore with no fear of careless boaters, jet skis, and throngs of tourists. The pelicans and herons fish the shallow surf, as you watch in awe. The beach remains very much like the photographs from 65 years ago, when my grandfather owned a home on Alligator Point. No condos, or chain hotels or souvenir shops have taken its place. It's a trip back in time to 'the real Florida!'

What makes this property unique

Privacy, privacy, privacy! As a native Floridian, I am not fond of crowded tourist traps. This location is incredibly private. Most days you will have the entire beach to yourself! You can watch your kids play on the beach without fear of traffic, bad influences or strangers. During low tide, even the smallest children can play in knee deep water on one of the many sand bars. Because this is a low-impact beach; overpowering waves and undercurrents are rare. The sand dollars, starfish, coral and sponge and seashells are abundant.
