The Marsh House

Stunning 6 bedroom, 6 1/2 bath home on the Marsh with the best views on the island! Home boasts views of the marsh and harbor. The view is unmatched on the island!

Outside, the private dock allows for fishing, kayaking, and crabbing. Location is secluded and wildlife-watching will entertain for hours.

Inside, the home has been completely updated, remodeled, and renovated in January 2025. Six bedrooms and 6 1/2 baths will easily accommodate your family in this beautiful home. Wheelchair accessible. 3 Living room areas for all ages. Ping Pong Table, games, beach toys, and corn hole are all available for use!
Fully equipped kitchen with steam pots and small appliances. Cable TV, internet, wifi. Bathrooms equipped with hair dryers.

(2) 4 seat golf carts available for use.

(2) Pack-N-Plays available for use.

**Bikes are not provided with this home. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available but quantity of are not guaranteed.

Guest memberships available at both the Bald Head Island Club and Shoals Club for additional fee. Call clubs directly to secure guest membership.

Great family vacation

My wife's first reaction to the place was that it was better than the pictures! The owner was easily accessible whenever we needed her. Plenty of separate common areas which was ideal for our family of 3 generations. Would recommend this place and plan on coming back again.

Unbeatable Views

This property is really special. The location has something for everyone. We loved being on the marsh and exploring new activities there. The views are exceptional. The layout of the house is conducive for large groups, and everyone was comfortable. The house is updated and also has charm. We'd definitely come back to this unique and inviting home.

This is the third time our crew has stayed at this beautiful house and we loved it all over again. Our grands just love the water activities to enjoy from the dock and the adults cannot take in the peaceful marsh view enough. With our count at 13, this house provides plenty of room and convenience for all. And recent updates are lovely. The host is responsive and kind. Couldn’t ask for more.

Fantastic. That said kitchen in particular was badly infested with crawly bugs and roaches. Hard to enjoy cooking and food prep. Such a great house otherwise. Everybody in group enjoyed the stay.

Incredible Location and View

The Marsh House was the perfect house for our family of 9. It was a big plus that every room has its own private bathroom, and there are several living spaces and porches so that we could all find our own spot to relax, read or visit. Or if we wanted a group game night, there was space to all gather in one room. And how rare to have a dining table for 10 to be able to eat together. And the view all across the front of the house is beyond beautiful!! It was unfortunate that our reserved week included a close to direct hit of Hurricane Isaias, which resulted in the cancellation of our water sports and activities off of our private dock, but BHI did a great job of getting the power back on, the roads cleared and the grocery store back open. It was a great memory week for our family!

From fast to slow......

This was our second summer staying at the marsh house and we loved it all over again. We could not ask for better for our crew. The comfortable space, the peace of the marsh views, the fun access for a few water activities, the wildlife sightings, and the joy of golf cart riding. The owner has thought of everything and is so gracious in communicating. We want a "three-peat"!

"It's All About The View"

This spacious comfortable home has a quiet and private location with spectacular views of the marsh and harbor from the entire first floor wall of windows and open porch. Much fun was had by all from the private creek dock;fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, or just sitting and watching nature. The owner quickly responded to all questions and we are grateful she shared this outstanding property with our family.

Peaceful Water View

We were all so wonderfully surprised upon arrival at this house. Spacious for our crew of 12. Marsh views from several rooms. A private dock for fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. A convenient location to restaurants and shops. And everyone had a space for privacy and peace......not always easy for a sizable group of people under one roof. We loved this house and hope to return!

Amazing location and views!

Great location, views, and house layout with lots of outside seating. Dock on creek was great fun for kids and adults, enjoying fishing and kayaking. Kitchen was very well stocked and the house has all kinds of games and beach supplies. Property Manager was very responsive and helpful for some initial maintenance that was needed. For future renters, we were not aware specific chargers went to specific carts and unfortunately one cart wasn’t operable after the first day.

Marsh House

We enjoyed our visit last year so much that we returned this year to Marsh House/Lighthouse Creek. The floor plan of this incredibly lovely home allows for larger family gatherings, as well as quiet spaces to get away. The scenic views of the Marsh and Old Baldy, from the boat dock make for memorable photos. We also appreciated the upgrades of the new washer/dryer and 3 brand new golf carts!! We hope to return yet again!!

Home away from Home!!

This home is a home away from home experience! We had a great weekend getaway with family and friends. This home provides plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable. The decor and all the small amenities included goes to show this home is loved and cared for even when it's homeowners are away. I highly recommend this home and look forward to returning some day! Best House on the Island!

Iwe have stayed in at least a dozen houses on BHI and this is by far the family favorite. Views in every direction. Enough living space to be together, but also spread out. Kitchen was stocked with every type of cooking tool, enough plates, silverware and serving pieces to accommodate our family of 11. We will be back! Thank you for sharing your home with our family!

We live in Southport, NC but our second home is on the island every free moment we get! We have been coming to the island since 2007, bought our first home on the island in 2014, and bought this second home just this past July 2019. We have 5 children - aged from 30 down to 17 and 9 grandbabies, all of whom enjoy coming to the island with us.

Why they chose this property

This home is a dream come true - you don't realize how much the marsh, the birds, and the wild life have such a calming effect on your spirit until you are here and can experience it first hand. We can sit for hours on the decks or even from inside watching out the window for hours and it never gets dull. We want to share this amazing home with you and we know you will want to come back over and over again just like us!

What makes this property unique

The entire marsh side of the house is all windows - you can view from the harbor out to the Wilmington bridge, down to the other end of the marsh. The wild life viewing is unmatched!
