Welcome to this beautiful country cabin, the perfect retreat for those looking to unplug and enjoy nature. The cabin features a convenient staircase leading down to the lower level, granting easy access to the water for fishing and free use of the rowboat, kayaks, and canoe—life jackets included for your safety and peace of mind.
Inside, the cabin comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests, with a master bedroom, a spacious loft with hardwood floors, and plenty of additional space for sleeping bags on the floor or deck. The bathroom is well-appointed with a tile shower and a relaxing jetted tub. The kitchen includes newer appliances, a washer and dryer, and the cooking and dining essentials you’ll need to feel right at home.
Enjoy all the basics for a comfortable stay—kitchen utensils, linens, and towels are provided. Outside, you’ll find a fire pit, LP grill, picnic table, plenty of space to roam, and walking paths to explore. Guests have free access to kayaks, a canoe, and a rowboat (life jackets included). Fishing is catch and release only, and swimming in the lake is not allowed due to insurance restrictions.
This is a rural getaway, so expect some local wildlife, bugs, and gravel roads—it’s all part of the charm. Please note: self-check-in is optional, and guests may be prepared to enjoy their stay without host assistance.
If you're looking for a fun, unique place to unplug and unwind—this is it.
*** The cabin is located near a small campground where you might see a few campers, mostly on weekends. If you have friends with RVs or campers, feel free to invite them to join you!
Guests are welcome to enjoy the kayaks and rowboat provided, along with life jackets for safety. Please note: swimming in the lake is not allowed due to insurance restrictions. Fishing is catch-and-release only, and we ask that you use artificial bait to help protect the fish during release.
There’s a $25 pet fee per stay.
To make your stay more comfortable, don’t forget to bring any personal items you might want—like an extra blanket or your favorite pillow. I don’t provide heavy blankets by default since I can’t launder them between every guest, but I’m happy to offer them upon request.

The cabin was clean, had plenty of supplies (bedding, towels, etc.), and the property was beautiful. We really appreciated the use of the watercraft. Andy was a great host, and super easy to get ahold of. Overall we had a wonderful stay.
Had fun time staying there. Just has lots of lady bugs and box elder bugs there, but as long as your not scared to of lady bugs . Its beautiful and fun kayaks and canoes to use..i would go agsin some day.
We enjoyed the property and all the outdoor activities, the water was beautiful and a perfect temperature. Our twin 4 year olds loved the loft area and jetted tub in the bathroom.

Clean and newer cabin. Quiet area and very scenic.
Perfect cabin for a weekend stay or week long stay! All the amenities for a quiet stay & away from every day technology. Within 15-20 minutes to small, quaint towns including grocery, restaurants and small town shopping. Communication with host was convenient and very responsive. Thank you, we’ll be sure to recommend and be back!

The cabin was quiet and very peaceful. Having a view of the lake was great. We used the grill a few times. It was a great stay!
We were expecting 2 bathrooms and 4 total beds. Only had one double bed and 2 twins. Lucky there were 2 fold out couches. We packed our chairs to use so didn’t use the ones supplied but there was plenty seating available. Loved the wrap around porch!
Great cabin, very peaceful. The only thing keeping this from full 5 stars is in the listing, there is nothing noting that this is in a campground. Luckily, it wasn’t busy so the stay was peaceful.

Thank you, the Cabin description has been adjusted to note that the property is connected to a campground. I have the listing on 2 web sites and left that fact out on this site. Im glad you said something because a lot of visitors have campers or friends with campers that want to stay as well. Thanks again.
Beautiful cabin and amazing porch for morning coffee in a rocking chair!
Cabin was super clean with an AMAZING jet tub for relaxing.
Close to Backbone State Park and fun shopping in Elkader.
Thanks Andy for the lovely week!
Several options for activities. Quiet area with several food options within driving distance. Loved the kayaks.

Thanks so much for staying and supporting Small business, and being such a great guest, I hope you can return soon.
Really enjoyed brining my family to this cabin for a nice get away. Wadena is a nice remote town. We felt very secure and away from everyone. The cabin was perfect for what we were looking for. Great tub, shower, stairs to the pond, fire pit...everything you need. Would gladly book again!

We picked this property for a relaxing sisters weekend! The cabin was what we expected, clean and cute. The teenagers loved the small lake and the kayaks and canoes provided, host was super friendly and nice. A great weekend of unplugging and spending time together.
Beautiful and peaceful area. Cozy get away and all enjoyed fishing and family time. I didn't see that no blankets are provided so make sure you bring a top blanket otherwise will be sleeping with just sheets.

Im Sorry about the blanket issue but yes it's in the Description. Since covid cleaning everything between each guest is very difficult. Hotels don't launder their comforters after each guest and so I have to either do that or not supply heavy blankets and I'm just not able to Launder heavy blankets after each guest. I'll try to think of a better Option. I do supply them if Requested for instance if someone flies in to stay and they can't bring a blanket with them. I will supply a heavy blanket for a fee. Again I'll try to think of a better option but thanks So much for saying and I hope you can return.
