Had a great time and host was very friendly. Host was onsite and available but the location still felt very private. The beach was beautiful and relaxing.
My family and I had everything we needed in this perfect spot with lake access. We were visiting family further down the beach, and were glad to have a quiet, comfortable place nearby to retire to each night. The place was exactly as advertised, and Kristina was a lovely host!
Our long week end travels included Whitefish Point, Taquamenon Falls, Paradise, Pictured Rocks and a couple of other scenic spots recommended by the host.
Excellent. The layout is great and very comfortable. A 25 yard walk to the beach where we enjoyed the water, walking, and also the beach fire. Great weekend and highly recommend.
This place is beautiful and amazing! The location is excellent with the private beach and tree-line views from the beach home. The home has lots of open space, the bed is super comfy (my husband says the owners should emphasize the comfiness - we slept wonderfully), everything you could want or need is provided, the beach is lovely, and we just can't say enough great things about the home and location. The owners, Kristina and Jeff, are absolutley wonderful. They make themselves available for anything and are just great peeps. Thank you for such a fantastic stay!
Great home, we stayed here because we had family at the state camp ground. This home was PERFECT! The owner checked on our needs and was very gracious. Overall a great place to enjoy the water and family!
Everything about our stay was great! The house was clean and welcoming. The location was perfect for day trips and we loved being able to end every day with a swim in the bay. The kitchen had everything we needed. We would definitely book this house again.
We had a wonderful time again this year. The cabin was clean, it was well supplied, and it was conveniently located. The hosts are wonderful and their pets are very sweet. We are looking forward to next year's trip already.
The large expanse of windows looking out on the woods the all-wood interior made our stay feel like glamping. Very comfortable and cozy when it's cold and windy outside.
Beautiful home and location. Great hosts!! Super responsive and helpful. Painting the rocks was a lovely touch. We originally booked the reservation for five people, but three of us ended up coming which was good because the sleeping situation would have been very tight otherwise.
The property was perfect to meet my best friend for a much-needed girls' weekend. I would love to come back with my husband. The property is quiet and the hosts are exceptional.
We had a wonderful stay. The house was clean and spacious. The hosts were amazing! They are kind and prompt. We loved being able to use the boats and have a fire on the beach.
This is the second time my family and I have stayed at this property. It is just lovely: clean, comfortable, and near the beach. Communication with the owners is great. They are on site and available if you have any concerns and are very friendly. Will be staying here again.
Very clean and quiet. You can get a glimpse of Lake Superior from the main room. There were 4 of us (adults 60+). The 2nd floor is the living area, so there is a lot of stair climbing every day, and one of us actually took a fall. Although there are two bathrooms, one is is the basement/garage.
My family and I stayed during our recent visit to the UP. The apartment was extremely clean, well stocked, and cozy! They had paddleboards and kayaks available for use and offered firewood for a small beach bonfire. Kristina and Jeff were reponsive and available if we needed, but also respected our privacy. The location was perfect for exploring the eastern side of the peninsula. We would definitely stay here again as we absoluely enjoyed our time!!
This big, open concept apartment was nice and clean, with forest views and sounds of the lake from inside. The electric range and double ovens made meals easy. The owner was helpful and attentive, beds were comfortable and there were plenty of amenities (dishes, linens, etc.) for our large group. As other reviews mention, there are not window coverings in the main living area that looks directly at the owner's property, so if you are looking for a secluded and private getaway, this may not meet your needs. This was not a huge issue for us since it was a family trip with my wife and 4 kids. It was comfortable for the 6 of us for a few days, although the stairs were a worry for us with our toddler, but we were aware of them before booking, so no fault of the owner. This was a great landing spot for us to see some of the big attractions in the UP - Lake Superior, Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island, Grand Marais, Sault Ste. Marie and more. We would definitely recommed to someone looking to stay in this area..
Although it’s been several months for me to leave a review, I clearly remember our experience. I still have pictures on my phone.
Pros: Our check in was very easy. Kristina met us in the driveway. The bed was comfortable, which is a huge plus.
Cons: Upon opening the door to the house the smell of pine cleaner was so over bearing we had to open multiple windows. It took a few hours to clear out. The house was nice, but we had a few issues. There was residue on the floor from the pine cleaner that was by the tv and I slipped and almost went down. Had to get paper towels to wipe it up and that’s how we knew it was the pine cleaner. The couch and chair was very dated and not comfortable at all. The pots were gross. The teflon was so scratched that we had to make our eggs in the microwave. The drains in the bathroom were very slow to drain. The sink and the shower were equally slow. Clearly an issue when you have to wait for the shower to drain before the next person. Definitely need roto rooter.
When we would leave at night we would leave the outside light on because it was pitch black. When we returned, the light was always off. The first time we questioned if we forgot but then after it happened again we knew we did not.
Although our trip to Michigan was wonderful, I would not return here or recommend it.
We had a very relaxing time in the Brimley Beach house. The owners were very welcoming and they had everything you needed. The beach was great and they had plenty of seating indoors and outside. There was a firepit on the beach that was the perfect ending to our time there. We would definitely go again. Highly recommended.
