Hawley is a quaint historical town noted for antiques, and there are many restaurants of all types in the area, including two within easy walking distance. Close by are mini-golf, go carts, a driving range, paintball and horseback riding. An excellent library also offers Internet access. In Honesdale, about 15 minutes away, are many fine gift shops and museums of area history. An Environmental Center is 5 minutes away and features classes and exhibits. A local theater group at the Ritz Theater in town features a changing program, and a Wildflower Music Festival and Honesdale's twice weekly concerts in the park feature well-known performers in a natural setting. Churches abound in Hawley, and synagogues are nearby. Local fairs are held nearly every weekend.
