Nice villa but big road issue to get there!

Hello, I've stayed one week at this villa with my wife and 3 children. The only positive points is the pool that is clean and big, where we enjoyed most of our time. The villa has also recently been restored with new windows + new bathroom and a nice kitchen. BUT what dissapointed us the most was 1) how scary the road is to get to the villa! It's an off road with a lot of wholes and stones climbing the montain. Very difficult and dangerous to ride! I was lucky to have a 4x4 jeep as I don't know how you can climb this road with a normal car without damaging it? 2) At the villa, it was proposed to let the doors and windows open to refresh the house as there's no airco but my family could not live with the idea that present lizards around the villa would enter the house. We could also not sleep with windows open to have no risk of insects or lizards come in in the night. If there was only a window net placed then this would have been more secured. We received 3 fans which helped a lot but was not sufficent. It was not a nice experience sleeping at night. I'm sorry but this location is not worth a second visit from my part.

Mooie plek maar communicatie kan beter

De dag voordat we arriveerden ga de verhuurder aan dat we niet in de avond konden arriveren. Hierdoor moesten wij een extra nacht ergens anders boeken en dus dubbel betalen. De accommodatie ligt bovenaan een steile, hobbelige weg. Ook goed om dit te vermelden in de advertentie. Los hiervan was het een fijn huis op een mooie plek.

Tranquil get a way from it all

Nestled in the hills above the historical white Andalusian village of Monda is Stable Cottage. This tranquil retreat was ours for a week in May. The facilities of which only pail into insignificance compared to the hostess with the mostest, the wonderful owner Linda, she made our stay just perfect, attending to our every question and need with kindness and thoughtfulness, even going so far as to meet us at the airport, to direct us to our holiday destination. Stable cottage is the perfect get away from it all retreat, the only noise you will hear is birdsong and the faint jingling of goat bells. The cottage has a panoramic vista of the mountains, and the village, perfect for relaxing and whiling away an afternoon in the sunshine with your favourite read. The swimming pool was delightful and a perfect way to cool down. The cottage facilities were spotless, and the shaded terrace idyllic, covered in sweet scented jasmine and colourful spring flowers. I was particularly impressed with our welcome pack, which meant we could settle straight into holiday mode. Although self catering we opted for a few meals cooked by our hostess, which was great fun having drinks and a barbeque by the pool. We had several trips out, the most memorable of which was the beautiful turquoise lakes, although El Churro is on the tourist trail, our hostess with local knowledge informed us of a far nicer lake at Ardales, the most beautiful setting you could wish for. We would highly recommend Stable Cottage and will definitely be back Juan day. Anita Ashworth May 2015
