Getaway in the Forest, Surrounded by Peaceful Nature and Year-round Creek
Seventeen Sequoias is a hidden oasis on Austin Creek. A gardener's sanctuary with an orchard of more than a dozen mature fruit trees including multiple types of apples, three kinds of plums, an Asian pear apple, D'Anjou pear, figs, peach, persimmons, quince and kiwi vines - as well as an area of raised garden beds and an abundance of blackberries. Flowering bulbs, hydrangeas, and extensive succulent gardens mingle between the 17+ ancient redwood trees including several fairy rings. Garden paths wind amid the plantings and natives that also host hummingbirds, butterflies and other wildlife. Explore and experience this 1 acre property as it transforms through the seasons. In fair weather, bring your water wings, floaties, and water shoes to float or walk in the creek - skipping stones and, if you're lucky, watching otters! The ping-pong table is rated for year-round use and it is next to the outdoor seating area by the cottage.
Your retreat at Seventeen Sequoias extends into the recently remodeled house as a place to relax and recharge any time of year. Play board games in front of the living room fireplace or catch up on movies, snuggling on the extra-long leather sofa and comfy chairs. The refreshed kitchen boasts a fantastic amount of counter space, cabinets well-stocked with pots, pans and kitchen tools, and stainless steel appliances including a Jenn-Air range. You may not want to leave to explore the excellent restaurants in Duncan's Mills or nearby Jenner, but if you do, you'll love returning to Seventeen Sequoias!
Adjacent to the spacious master bedroom is the custom built bathroom. The shower is tiled with cut river rock, ceramic and glass tiles. While we hope you don't need it, the second bedroom doubles as a home office. Fold the Queen Murphy bed up and out of the way, plug in your laptop and get some work done and go back to playing! Lastly, in a creative turn, the laundry room is also a sleeping nook! A single twin bed cozies in with a privacy curtain.
The newest addition – a remodeled cottage in the back yard adds another bedroom, full bathroom, and extensive living room. An antique poker table and movie posters set the laid-back vibe. Through outside to the year-round outdoor ping-pong table and gas firepit in the newly graveled seating area. New photos coming!

We had a wonderful weekend in Cazadero, spent hours hanging out on the beautiful creek, under the redwoods catching up with old friends. This house was perfect and we had the best nights sleep we had all had in months!

Hello Adrianne, We are elated that you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for being such wonderful guests :)
This was an absolutely beautiful property, and the home was clean and inviting. Everything was easily found (love the labeled drawers!) and the instructions for our stay there was very clear. The master bed was very comfortable as well. We loved our stay here so much, and we will definitely be returning here for future getaways!

Hello Justina, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for being such wonderful guests! We would love to host you again :)
This property is a slice of paradise. We had several days of hard rain, yet it didn’t hamper our stay. The view out every window makes you feel like you’re in the woods. The house is so beautiful and cozy. The property is totally fenced and secure, so kids and dogs are able to play and run around safely. The front and back yards are massive and provide an amazing backdrop for whatever brings you joy.

Thank you for the lovely review! We agree that it is a great home for kids and dogs.
A quiet house on a long, private driveway. Plenty of room in the house, with even more outdoor livable space. Enjoyed using the fire pit for some smores and warmth. Easy access to Austin Creek a great bonus.

This is a beautiful property. Tastefully appointed with a very well stocked kitchen and the 1 acre fenced in yard looks like a Monet painting. The are fruit trees that were bearing all kinds of fruit ripe for the picking. We had such a relaxing vacation.

Hello Jack, Thank you for being such great guests! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! We loved hosting you and hope to see you again soon :)
Very good location easy for kids and a well furnished kitchen for meal prep. Would have liked an ability to lock the front door from the inside as little ones can open the door, my 16 monther figured it out. Entire complex is gated which made my 3.5 year only very happy as well as my small dog. Good size yard and very convenient access to the river, the river was shallow in late June, but easy walking to some deeper areas.

Hell Brian, We are so glad you were able to figure out how to lock the door! Thank you for your review and for being great guests, we hope you can come back to enjoy Seventeen Sequoais and Austin Creek after some rain!
This was a lovely place to stay. We enjoyed the amenities. Could not ask for anything more. Seems everything was furnished. The owners have some expensive things in the house. Our week was expensive. Many drawers were locked. Guess they did not want people stealing whatever was in those locked drawers...even after paying a lot of money to stay there for a week. Not trusting type owners.

Hello Dorothy, We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with the pricing as well as the locked areas. There are only a few different locked cabinets/drawers in the home. It is not because owners do not trust guests. These locked areas are for the cleaners' supplies when they come after guests to restock the home and get it guest-ready! Overall we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your understanding :)
Had an excellent stay at Seventeen Sequoia's. The property has been recently updated with a very nice kitchen and appliances, new bathroom, and new windows. The outside area has a newer Weber gas grill with a full propane tank and a full reserve. There was also very fast internet which is a must for our family.
The location is easy to find, very quiet and has access to Austin Creek. There is also an area in the back of the property with chairs and fire pit...nice place to kick back and relax.
We had a minor issue where the key code did not work upon our arrival. It turned out to be no big deal. I mention it because we arrived after hours and thought we were in for hassle. We called the management company's number, left a message and within minutes received a return call. They were able to correct the code remotely and all was good. I always rate company on how well they handle problems and in this case they get an A+. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.
We stayed here for 3 nights. The property and house were exactly as described. Well stocked kitchen that allowed us to have our meals here and we didn't have to buy any other supplies other than our food items. It was a very clean home and the location is nice and quiet. We would definitely come back again.

Hi Joshua,
Thank you for your review and so glad you enjoyed Seventeen Sequoias. We hope you will be able to stay with us again soon.
Warmly,
Russian River Vacation Homes
We are Russian River Vacation Homes, a part of D&G Equity Management, Inc., a family owned and locally owned/operated property management company.
Our Story: In 1980, D&G founders and owners Michael and Patty saw a need in the area for habitable, affordable housing. At that time, many of the little cabins along the Russian River, originally built as summer cabins, were unsuitable for year-round occupancy. D&G assisted property owners with fixing up and renting their cabins. As the largest property management company in western Sonoma County, D&G Equity Management continues to be a staple in the Russian River community.
Russian River Vacation Homes is an off-shoot of D&G. One fine day in 1985, Michael’s client, Bob, asked “Hey Mike, can you rent my cabin out just for the week or weekend instead of by the month?” Michael said “Sure!” and Russian River Vacation Homes was born. As renting vacation rentals became more popular, Russian River Vacation Homes grew into a full-time business with its own office. Today, Russian River Vacation Homes professionally manages over 60 high-quality vacation rentals.
We strive to make each and every stay the best one ever. If you have any questions or concerns about reserving or staying with us, please don’t hesitate to contact us! We are here to help.
